Title: Stage imports
Post by: xxmasal22xx on March 02, 2011, 07:58:29 AM
Hey all, xxmasal22xx here.

Got a few questions bout making stage hacks.

1.)Will you please help me?
2.)If i do a stage import, is it just like a character, where i need to replace just the model + textures?
3.)What are stage collisions? I assume that they tell brewl what is a solid object?

Yeah.

Yes, though some models need extra things to function properly (some texture animations, etc.) Just import the whole BRRES file into the stage.

Yep. They contain data on walls, floors, ceilings, and ledges. They can be edited in the brawlbox collision editor, of course.

You need to manually edit the spawn points and boundaries. You can do this in Brawlwall, repositioning them in Brawlbox, or by using a combination of both in order to assure correct spawning with no glitches (recommended)! See some of the tutorials posted above for more details on this.

I don't recomment BrawlWall as everything can be made with Brawlbox. I also suggest this thread here:

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=262564

Where you can solve any stage related doubts.

You use brawlwall to see what the f**k you're doing, and you copy the values into brawlbox.

all of brawlwall's features could be easily implemented into brawlbox, I have no idea why they haven't yet.  iirc dantarion actually said he would at some point
