Title: not sure if i can ask this here... Post by: arcray20 on April 05, 2011, 01:14:43 PM i have obtained a wii iso and was trying to figure somthing out about it, but no success.
i was trying to see if i could somehow view its data like the 'brawl ISO partition data' where its set up in files so people can manage the data for hacks like we do. all i want to do is find out if its possible to do that with other wii games than just brawl. any help is appreciated as google has obviously failed me. :af: Title: Re: not sure if i can ask this here... Title: Re: not sure if i can ask this here... Post by: arcray20 on April 05, 2011, 01:21:25 PM cool but what would i have to do to do it like that?
the game is 'Negima!? neo pactio fighto!' trying to see if its models can be imported to brawl and find out some other stuff. Title: Re: not sure if i can ask this here... Post by: Difegue on April 05, 2011, 02:10:21 PM Just use Wiiscrubber to open the .iso, it's faster.
If you're looking for models, it's normally .brres files, althrough they might be packed in some annoying form. You'd be better off asking that to RandomTBush or whoever in the Mdl0 resource thread on Smashboards. Still, don't forget to tell us if Negima uses .mdl0s. I'm slightly interested even through I only read it like once Title: Re: not sure if i can ask this here... Post by: arcray20 on April 05, 2011, 02:44:36 PM now we are making progress! thnx.
and i did ask randomtbrush here and he had said somthing about 'Dolphin' (never heard of it) and when i asked him about it....well he hasnt PMed me back yet, but ill try wii scrubber Title: Re: not sure if i can ask this here... Post by: Roo on April 05, 2011, 02:49:09 PM Dolphin is a wii/gamecube game emulator, not unlike ZSNES or project 64.
Title: Re: not sure if i can ask this here... Post by: arcray20 on April 05, 2011, 03:19:26 PM if its an emulator then hows that gonna help me get the model data?
i tried wii scrubber and it made a compressed version of the file and now i dont know what to do. Title: Re: not sure if i can ask this here... Post by: Roo on April 05, 2011, 03:31:47 PM I'm not exactly sure, but I'd take his word for it... >_>
Title: Re: not sure if i can ask this here... Post by: arcray20 on April 05, 2011, 04:00:23 PM i think i got wii scrubber to work now, but im not sure how to find the models.
i found brstm files thought so i guess its a start. i know i heard that .arc files can be the models and converted to .mdlo files but i think the .arc files i found are for somthing else, but ill keep looking. EDIT: i was checking through 4 specific .brstm files that caught my attention as they were name like they would be for brawl 'm04' and the like. two of them were snippets from US 80s songs :o Title: Re: not sure if i can ask this here... Post by: Difegue on April 05, 2011, 04:20:25 PM Dolphin can help you find models with memory dumps. Basically, run your iso with Dolphin, and when your models are displaying, go to task manager, right-click dolphin, and select memory dump?
I'm not really sure about that since I never used it... If you're looking through the iso with WiiScrubber, the models are likely in folders named mdl or something like that. No .brres? Maybe it's indeed those .arc files, then. I think the mdl0 resource has tools for unpacking those. Maybe you should give it a shot... Title: Re: not sure if i can ask this here... Post by: arcray20 on April 05, 2011, 04:28:04 PM thnx, imma have to try those since the .arc files i was talking about were in a file called
'home btn' and each file was for a language like ENG, FRA, JAP, and others which is wierd since its a japan only game. |
