Title: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: MrMarill on April 12, 2011, 01:05:43 PM I need quite urgent help.
I've already downloaded and got a Shadow PSA, complete with motion, working, so I'm pretty sure I'm not doing anything drastically wrong. I've made a Hatsune Miku texture, which I plan to post in the near future, and I changed some of her animations. I decided it would be best to test they worked before going along with making them all. Here's my little problem. I've uploaded the FitSZeroSuit00 PAC and PCS along with the FitSZeroSuitMotionEtc PAC files for convenience: FitSZeroSuit00.pac http://www.mediafire.com/?d6l5auvpaqb51je FitSZeroSuit00.pcs http://www.mediafire.com/?m7wsd4jnmkwkepe FitSZeroSuitMotionEtc http://www.mediafire.com/?1gladd9fgjk7e4y Now, the Miku texture works really well if I do say so myself, but none of her alt animations load at all. If, for some reason, they don't work in your BrawlBox (assuming you downloaded, of course), I changed the "Wait1" and "Wait2" animations most noticeably. Here is the location of my ZSS hacks: private/wii/app/RSBP/pf/Fighter/szerosuit In this folder, I have those three files and those three files only. Two PACs and one PCS. I have tested them, and the animations load for both the PAC and the PCS, so I don't know what's going wrong. I've gone into the core MotionEtc file and replaced "Wait1" and "Wait2" and still nothing changes when I load it up in Brawl. The two replaced animations are fairly simple. Her "Wait1" normal standing pose has her holding her left arm up in a more laid-back fighting stance compared to ZSS's gun-holding. "Wait2" has her turning to look at the camera, swinging her arm happily then going back to the normal fighting stance; you can see if it's working simply because the first frame is the first frame of "Wait1". I'm convinced the game simply isn't seeing it or something. I'd be very happy with a quick reply, as I really need this working. I run Riivolution and a 4.3 PAL Wii. Thanks in advance! Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: vm19961126 on April 12, 2011, 02:50:09 PM Hmm...
I don't see anything wrong, I can see the snimation in Brawlbox (i havent tested in game) maybe its just riivolution.. I dont think so but still... and also, try to use some other ZSS motion files, if those do work, I think you're doing something wrong... Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: SiLeNtDo0m on April 12, 2011, 03:19:55 PM Yeah, some FitMotionEtc.pacs don't work on their own in Riivolution or Dolphin I believe. It's kinda weird :-\
Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: MrMarill on April 12, 2011, 03:38:52 PM Hmm. I downloaded this Motion.pac (http://www.mediafire.com/?jmgydmgtzkn - LongHairedZSS) and it still makes no difference. Is there any fix for it?
Dr, you said "on their own". What other files do I need to put in? I'd love to get this fixed =/ Thanks guys for helping =D Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: Lost Saltshaker on April 12, 2011, 03:54:39 PM Common_en.pac has a copy of ZSS' motionetc, you can try replacing that.
Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: MrMarill on April 12, 2011, 03:58:31 PM GeckoOS has it working, but misses out every other hack I have outside textures so I'll leave that :P
Gonna try editing common_en =D EDIT: I replaced it with my files, that didn't work... Are there any other things I could do? D= Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: vondy56 on April 12, 2011, 05:01:22 PM i have this same problem with samus' motion files where they just don't load them and i have replaced them in both the common_en.pac and the fitmotionetc.pac 1 at a time and then both at the same time and no luck
Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: BlackJax96 on April 12, 2011, 05:07:21 PM Add a reference to Common_en.pac in your Riivolution xml.
Ex: <file external="/brawlmods/custom1/system/common.pac" disc="/system/common_en.pac" /> Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: MrMarill on April 12, 2011, 05:21:29 PM <wiidisc version="1">
<id game="RSB" /> <options> <section name="Files"> <option name="File Code Replacements"> <choice name="Enabled"> <patch id="filecode" /> </choice> </option> </section> </options> <patch id="filecode"> <folder external="/private/wii/app/RSBE/pfmenu2" disc="/menu2" /> <folder external="/private/wii/app/RSBP/pfmenu2" disc="/menu2" /> <folder external="/private/wii/app/RSBJ/pfmenu2" disc="/menu2" /> <folder external="/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf" disc="/" /> <folder external="/private/wii/app/RSBP/pf" disc="/" /> <folder external="/private/wii/app/RSBJ/pf" disc="/" /> <file external="/private/wii/app/RSBP/pf/system/common_en.pac" disc="/system/common_en.pac" /> </patch> </wiidisc> ^That's my "SSBBFiles" XML. Would something like that work? It's midnight so I can't test it... :P Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: BlackJax96 on April 12, 2011, 05:39:11 PM Yeah, that should work...
Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: vondy56 on April 12, 2011, 06:43:42 PM Add a reference to Common_en.pac in your Riivolution xml. Ex: <file external="/brawlmods/custom1/system/common.pac" disc="/system/common_en.pac" /> thank you that worked!!!!! Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: MrMarill on April 13, 2011, 03:52:06 AM Urgh, neither mine or the one you posted worked at all. Where am I going wrong? Is there anyone who could upload an XML that works or something? :P
Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: SiLeNtDo0m on April 13, 2011, 04:43:12 AM Well Wolfric added a Readme to his Megaman over Samus one slot size mod that is directed to Riivolution users about MotionEtc.pac problems. Maybe you could read it and apply the principle to this situation?
Here's the link: http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=17982 Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: MrMarill on April 13, 2011, 05:07:39 AM It gives the same advice as BlackJax did, but it's for a different type of XML to mine; I use the File Patch Code. I'm not 100% sure on everything still, so I'm not certain I have that (I only recently changed over).
The readme again didn't work. Is there anything else I can do? Maybe I can get an XML like vondy has? Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: vm19961126 on April 13, 2011, 05:25:51 AM <wiidisc version="1"> <id game="RSB" /> <options> <section name="Files"> <option name="File Code Replacements"> <choice name="Enabled"> <patch id="filecode" /> </choice> </option> </section> </options> <patch id="filecode"> <folder external="/private/wii/app/RSBE/pfmenu2" disc="/menu2" /> <folder external="/private/wii/app/RSBP/pfmenu2" disc="/menu2" /> <folder external="/private/wii/app/RSBJ/pfmenu2" disc="/menu2" /> <folder external="/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf" disc="/" /> <folder external="/private/wii/app/RSBP/pf" disc="/" /> <folder external="/private/wii/app/RSBJ/pf" disc="/" /> <file external="/private/wii/app/RSBP/pf/system/common_en.pac" disc="/system/common_en.pac" /> </patch> </wiidisc> ^That's my "SSBBFiles" XML. Would something like that work? It's midnight so I can't test it... :P hmm I think this didn't work because this xml just replaces everything in the PF folder, I think that you dont need the Fighter stage, sound etc folders... and because it already replaces everything in the pf folder, the line you added didn''t realy make sense I guess because that line is also pointing at the pf folder, but a specific place in the pf folder, which isn't required with this xml... so what I 'm trying to say, changing the xml didn;t change anything, only if you let it read another folder then the pf folder (like private>wii>app>RSBE>Mods)... hope that this makes something clear, so its noit your xml... woah, too much text 0.o Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: TheHatMan on April 13, 2011, 06:20:40 AM hmmm, odd.
When I tested this file on my Riivo, it worked perfectly. No issues. Ci on the layout. Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: MrMarill on April 13, 2011, 06:46:24 AM Hmm, can you link me to/upload your XML file to see if I could use it?
Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: MrMarill on April 13, 2011, 04:04:08 PM Hmm. Is it possible to just export all of "SZeroSuit"'s ModelData and TextureData and put it over, say, Peach? Would that work? I can't test it now 'cuz it's 11pm >_>
Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: MrMarill on April 14, 2011, 04:56:30 PM That didn't work, I can't get ModLauncher working... >_>
Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: Dark Aura on April 14, 2011, 10:04:01 PM How does one edit their Riivolution xml? I'm trying to do the same thing with Tifa's motionetc.
I double click it and it brings up the tree in my browser, but I can't edit it. Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: MrMarill on April 15, 2011, 02:04:58 AM Right click and hit "Edit" to edit it :)
Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: Lost Saltshaker on April 16, 2011, 01:14:59 PM I use the File Patch Code. You may already know this, but it'll bug me to let it go without at least making sure. You don't need the file patch code while using the XML. Both methods patch the file in a different way. Riivolution uses common_en.pac, while the patch code uses the one in zss' folder. It may be conflicting. Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: MrMarill on April 17, 2011, 02:48:00 AM That didn't work either, sorry :(
Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: MrMarill on April 17, 2011, 06:20:06 AM I have the Modlauncher setup (followed this guide: http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=11743.65 ) but I still can't seem to get it working. I've put the reference in "modlauncher" and in "SSBBfiles" but neither works.
The reference is this: <file external="/brawlmods/custom1/system/common.pac" disc="/system/common_en.pac" /> I put my common_en.pac in the folder it was specifying, and loaded it up with that mod in Riivolution. I have no other files in the "Brawlmods" folder as I can't get Ocarina working, so it won't load Brawl+ ANYWAY :P Can someone just please upload an XML that'll work? I would be eternally grateful =D Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: vm19961126 on April 17, 2011, 06:48:53 AM go to the official riivo page and download the file patch replace ment support xml, that's the best one you can get, and its the same folder path as the file patch code. so don't waste your time with those self made stuff.. beecause the one on the riivo page is the best you can get.
Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: MrMarill on April 17, 2011, 07:07:31 AM Are you sure it works with MotionEtc on Zamus? I'm pretty sure I've tested it before...
Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: vm19961126 on April 17, 2011, 01:13:09 PM well, everything works fine with my riivo and the official riivo ssbb xml thing :P
Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: MrMarill on April 18, 2011, 10:28:55 AM Still isn't loading my motionetc.pac, it loads everything else. Could someone just like, upload their SD card contents (minus their PF folder for saving space) for me? I know, I fail badly >_>
Title: Re: MotionEtc.pac doesn't work Post by: MrMarill on April 19, 2011, 09:12:47 AM Bump; anyone who has motionetc.pac working for Zamus on Riivolution can fix this easily by just uploading the root folders of their SD cards... Please! =D
