ok well i followed the complete noobs guide to hacking riivolutions is installed and everythings set
but what i cnt find is how to get a downloaded skin for a character into brawl using riivolution and an sd card
You should use BeyondYou's Riivolution launcher. It's Riivolution, but with the same directory setup as Gecko (which I'm assuming you use).

i dont use geko so i dnt need to switch to riivolution
i installed riivolution from the homebrew channel
now i have riivolution.....but nothing to add into the game
i downloaded a few skins such as captain america for falcon... but i dont no how to make it so that riivolution reads it and adds the skin to the gameplay
i have checked all the tut's for help but they all talk about random directories i have no clue how the heck you get them to sum it up i need to no where u get the directories..... i no where to put the files if i have that then theres the probability that ill have a problem for riivolution to read the files i replaced and let me use them
i have the problem and the answer theres just a missing space in places
Okay. Try this instead. I've taken my basic set-up for Riivolution and made a copy of it. If you want, you could try using that. It's completely empty, so you'd have to add whatever textures you may have for yourself, but the directories are MUCH easier. The .pac and .pcs files for the textures go into the fighter folder, under that particular character's name

this helped with placing the skin and stages THANK YOU THIS IS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR
but now it freezes at the loading screen before the video b4 the menue starts up whats the error here
I believe that has something to do with the GCT file that I stupidly left in there. Remove my GCT, and replace it with the codes that you use. Make sure to leave out the File Patch code, though. Riivolution doesn't use it

Hmm...well it should add the textures automatically. Try downloading this and putting into the "info2" folder in the setup

what do you mean by setup? i dont see any folder named setup?
No...in the folder you downloaded, you should find a folder called "Info2". Place info.pac in there
The directory is like this:
private > wii > app > RSBE > pf > info2
i did that and it froze again immidiately in the same exact spot...
I don't see why it's doing that, but since you're having trouble with Riivo, maybe you should just switch over to Gecko. It's perfectly capable of being able to do exactly what you want (stages and textures)
The only difference is that Gecko does need the File Replacement code in your GCT file.
that sounds like sumthing worth trying... i have wii menu 4.3 i think gecko is compatible and i dont have a gct file cept the one u gave me but its in my recycle bin do i have to make my own or is using urs gud <<no code knowledge whatsoever it all looks like japanese
k installed gecko works like a charm but it doesnt load my skins its just the default brawl stuff

You'd have to make your own GCT. Mine's lacking the File Patch code, unfortunately...that's why your textures aren't showing up.
is there a tutorial on how to make one i have no clue wht the heck im doin lolze :P

Using the code manager found here: http://www.mediafire.com/?medd4zzyzjn
Just load the txt into the manager and select it. Then save it as a gct to the SD card, it will make the folder itself
You can then just run Gecko and it should load the code and allow your textures to be applied.
another thing, are you a PAL user or a NTSC, because, the game freezes if a PAL user uses a common3.pac from NTSC :P
i tried exporting is as a gct and it just says no codes selected in it
Press the + button for codes you want to use (highlight them and press +)

I'm not sure what the problem is with riivolution. I use gecko.
ok my file patch code .txt has everything tht u posted but the code manager doesnt detect the code

In gecko this normally indicates the info.pac is too large.

so are you pal, download a common3.pac from pal, and if you don't even use a common3.pac ignore this

the only thing in my folders is an innfo file i just put in
gecko
and 2 skins for samus and zero suit samus
nothing more and nothing less

You have the GCT file at the root of your SD card in a folder called "codes", right? If so, you basically have everything in place :/
yes its there i have the info in the info 2 folder the skins r named right and in the right directories the gcf file is complete but it still freezes at loading screen with gecko and riivolution
this might be a bit much but idk how else to do this but if you can use team viewer to help me with this

Y'know what? I'll just upload my old Gecko layout, and you can try using that. It'll have a whole bunch of stuff on there, but once you at least get it running, you can edit all of it.

Alright. Everything's in this file that you'll need. I removed ALL of my fighter folders for two reasons though; so it'll take less time to compress, and so you won't have a whole bunch of random textures you don't want. All you have to do is place the fighter folders where they belong. You'll also have the custom stages that I had with it. The GCT file has all the necessary codes, so leave it as is

for gecko u definitely need a gct file there not hard to create more confusing then anything at first. later i'll get u links to the things u need.
