Title: Animation hacks?
Post by: Tabuu Forte Akugun on May 04, 2011, 02:30:43 PM
Okay, so here's what I'm basically asking for: how do you give a character another character's animation without deforming the body? I'm working on a Giga Bowser over Yoshi import, which is almost complete. But for the animations Giga Bowser lacks (most notably, damage and Down animations), I want to use Bowser's animations. But they squish Giga Bowser into a tiny, ugly mess.

Then I look at Eternal Yoshi's Gray Fox, who integrates some of Sheik and Captain Falcon's animations, and they look awesome. And DoubleK642 uses Falcon and Snake animations in his Waluigi, who also look seamless.

How do you port animations over again? Thanks for the help.

Basically, it's really simple:

1) Take your Bowser animation that you want
2) Export it
3) Replace one of your Giga Bowser animations with it (the respective one that you need)
4) Go to Frame 0 of the animation (the T Pose)
5) Press the top "Copy"
6) Go to Frame 1 of the same animation
7) Press "Paste Trans Only" (only works with more recent versions of Brawlbox)

What this does is insert Giga Bowser's bone translations of the T Pose (i.e. the proper ones) whilst retaining the animation completely the same.

I will go try it. Thanks so much ,you guys!

I hope this won't bulk up the filesize.

I realize my problem now: I copied the wrong frame before. LOL

It works!

But I'm gonna need to adjust the HipN accordingly.
