Title: Music Looping Imprecision
Post by: AXYPB on June 24, 2009, 08:15:17 PM
I recently noticed that some of my songs do not loop properly in-game, but appear to loop perfectly in Winamp.  After a song would normally end, the song loops a fraction of a second earlier than I assigned, which bothers me enough to bring it up.  I followed the guide for the automatic tool to the letter, but neither mono nor stereo has an effect.  Short songs less than 40 seconds, like the pieces I use for the main menu, don't seem to be affected.  This issue appears on both disc and USB.  Is there something I'm missing?

My songs that bother me the most are Reach Out To The Truth (http://whatistheexcel.com/upload/AXYPB/Persona4-ReachOutToTheTruth.brstm), Eternity (http://whatistheexcel.com/upload/AXYPB/BlueDragon-EternityV2.brstm) and Furiously (http://whatistheexcel.com/upload/AXYPB/MetalSlug4-Furiously.brstm).

That's just... Brawl, unfortunately. I don't think there's any way around it.

Is it possible then to hex-edit the header of a music file so I could modify the loop point manually without having to rebuild it?
