I am trying my hand in making a CSS name for L'Arc, but it continues to freeze on me before I can get to the character select screen.  I'm trying to replace Ike's name on the select screen.  Can anyone help please?

Okay, Thanks Jaklub.  I'm going to test it now.

Edit: No good, I used a tool to compress it to 720 bytes, but it still freezes. :(

heres what I usually do when Im making custom CSS names:

I take the original, colour it all black, then type the name in, with a font that default and not an addon. From there, I save as, replace the original, then test it. That always works for me

That's what I was doing for the longest now.  But The file becomes to big, and when I compress it, still freezes.  Is there a special trick in making them using GIMP, since that's the program I'm using.  Nothing seems to be working, not even name icons either.

Edit: I just downloaded the Rockman Dash pack, and I can't use even those names for R.O.B.  I'm getting the feeling that I can't use any custom names on my game.

Try to replace both sc_selcharacter.pac in menu2 folder and sc_selcharacter.pac in common5 with exactly the same file.

I replaced them with the same file,  but it still freezes.

w8t...are the files in PNG format???

another isue could be if ur using gecko it has issues with name replacement if i remember right

@TheHatMan: Yes, all name files are in PNG format and the new CSS name is about 501 bytes.  I'm not sure about the CSS icon name though, I don't know how to make those...

@zigheart: I been using Riivolution alot to test out sound hacks so I haven't went back to using Gecko.

I can't wrap my head around it as to why it won't work, its compressed small enough to work. :srs:
