Title: Issues with switching certain stages Post by: silveruchiha on June 03, 2011, 02:29:44 PM So I downloaded the stageswitcher program to get .rels and move whatever stages to wherever.
However, I'm having a few stages that won't work with me. I'm figuring there isn't a way around them, but I'll check here and hope I'm wrong (again). First, can you switch stages over smashville (stgvillage)? Every time I have tried to place a battlefield stage or FD stage (using the appropriate .rels) I get the base of smashville surrounded by complete darkness. Is it just the stage or what? Second, I attempted to place the Black Mesa Mod for ShadowMosesIsland (stgmetalgear) over a different stage. The game froze. I had the appropriate .rels and I'm stumped. Is it the opposite issue as smashville where MGS stages can't overwrite other stages? If they can, what do I need to do? Third, from Mewtwo2000's pack (which contained the Mushroom Kingdom 64 stage) I tried placing said stage over the Mushroomykingdom (stgmariopast). It froze and I suspect it is something to do with the fact there are two different stages. However, I have no idea how to go around that and I'd love to hear some suggestions or advice. that's all I have as these are the only three big issues I have. The other is some stage that IS designed for rainbowcruise (stgdxcruise) freezing the game whenever I try to load it. I figure the stage is just not worth it. Anyway, thanks for any help or information you give. Title: Re: Issues with switching certain stages Post by: Mewtwo2000 on June 09, 2011, 06:18:43 AM I have the explanation for the first one (I guess), but I've not tested the other 2 myself and I can't answer them.
If you get a smashville with a dark environment, then only that model is loading. And, if you've replaced the stage with another, and the rel file with another, this only means that the version of stgvillage loaded isn't the one you have replaced. There are 5 (I guess) different files for STGVILLAGE, you have named wrongly the stage, or you have just replaced one of the different versions, and the local time for you makes the game load just one of the others. And, because of the rel file, Smashville isn't completely loaded, but still works. That's why. The other 2 issues are related to the multi-stage thing for sure. Maybe the stages try to load just a not existing version of the stage, and freezes. Maybe, having 2-3 copies of the stages with different names similar to how the original slots are works. But I've not tested it and I'm not sure about it. |
