Title: Texture Hacking Problems, Help Please...
Post by: Ratzel on September 16, 2009, 07:24:32 PM
Ok, so I downloaded ASH and the texture files provided by KC:MM and I have a completed texture in folder format. How do I turn it into a .pcs file (yes, I have read the tutorials and NONE of them cover my problem).
I ask because ASH is REFUSING to work and I have NO CLUE how to save my pack into .pcs format.

I can go into detail even more if SOMEONE is willing to help and my topic doesn't get deleted by misunderstanding mods.

Why the hell would we delete this? Seriously, why even mention something like that?

Anyway, no one can help you if you say vague stuff like "ASH is refusing to work." Be specific.

Because someone DID delete my posts like this before.

ASH doesn't recognize ssbextract.exe and netcompress.exe, they are in the same folder.

It comes up with MSDOS messages that say:

ERROR: I can't find ntcompress.exe
ASH won't work without this file.
Press any key to continue...

ERROR: I can't find texconv.exe
ASH won't work without this file.
Press any key to continue...

ERROR: I can't delete %a folder.
Please close any program that could be using it.
Press any key to continue...

When I try to use step 2 to convert the folder packs it says:

You need TexConv and NTcompress.

It's in the Revolution SDK package.

Google it.

Get a fresh copy of ASH. There's no reason for it to be doing that.

Did that and it's STILL doing basically the same thing.

"Basically"? That would mean something different is happening, no?

Stop handing those out; do it through PM.

I didn't hand it out that time though.  I have learned.
Anyway it's available on the front page of the wiki.

It just has one "File not found" on it now...

I think that I may know my problem, I need an older version of ASH.
