Title: wii brick? Post by: suprosonic12 on June 20, 2011, 10:08:08 PM i tried to downgrade my wii and now when i turn it on it doesnt do anything just shows a black blank screen :srs: can it be fixed? i cant go to homebrew channel

It's unsafe no matter what you do and unfortunately you probably bricked your Wii. There are, however different levels of bricking and some can be repaired. Did you install the WiiBoot (I think that's what it's called) or some other rebooting program?

I tried; thankfully, I was able to downgrade successfully, but I would NEVER recommend it. And it sure sounds like you have a brick. but seriously, never attempt to downgrade. 99.9% of the time you always brick your wii. But since you did and failed. If you don't have BootMii or any other restart program, you just threw away a $200 system into the crapper. Sorry Title: Re: wii brick? I've had starfall on there ever since, and haven't had to update. heh
Title: Re: wii brick? Post by: DSX8 on June 21, 2011, 04:48:23 PM lets see... i used to have a 4.0 wii... i was successfully able to downgrade to 3.4 to use hacks again. but then when the 4.3 update came out, w/o my knowing, my friend upgraded my wii >.>
so then i searched how to get HBC back and stuff... and was able to downgrade to 4.1, and it still works. this time i have disc and internet update turned off. Title: Re: wii brick?
