Title: Vertexing pieces with Bones
Post by: ethNargy on June 26, 2011, 01:58:25 AM
I've recently begun vertexing Pit, and I've attempted to make his scarves into a vest. However, after saving and patching everything in 3dsmax, his scarf is all jumbled up. Is there any way to edit his scarf in such a manner, or am I out of luck?

(I shifted the scarf locations from their points of origin.)

Also, would this happen to all pieces with bones? Just want to know before I end up finding out I've wasted my time making a vertex edit with uneditable things.

Normally you can vertex things that have bones, if it wasn't possible, of course it would be really hard to have all that is available on the brawlvault...

I suggest however that you give a picture of what happens after you saved and patched. This way, it will be easier for people to help you.

It gets even more messed up after double patching.

Here's a picture of what it's supposed to look like, and a picture of what it does in brawlbox.

The color of it is grey in the first picture, and blue in the second picture.

I tested it with a simple edit of the scarf with just a few vertex edits, and it ended up doing the same thing.

Just keep on patching.
Majority of the time, it'll work itself out eventually.

Up to patch 41 now, and it's gotten better randomly. Sometimes one side will be fine, and other times the other side will be fine. One side is always messed up, though.

Is there anyone out there better experienced with vertexing who could take a look at it? Nothing I've done seems to work.
