Title: Question? Post by: HallowAngel on July 10, 2011, 05:35:43 PM I followed the Complete Noob guide, and I had the Textures for Characters working.
But, randomly, whenever I go to the Character Selection screen, the disc says it can't be read. I started messing with Stage Textures, but I'm not sure how to work them exactly (.rel file replacement). But, I don't think that was the reason. I've made a new .gct with the same codes to see if it would work. I replaced the old Gecko OS with the most recent (1.9.3.1). I've deleted most of the Stage textures. The only ones I have or the Primal Dialga, Primal Palkia and Alive Rayquaza stages for Spear Pillar. They also worked fine when I checked them. And all my character textures worked fine too. It just randomly stopped working. I don't know what I should do now. Can someone help me out? I would really appreciate it. Title: Re: Question? Post by: Jab on July 10, 2011, 05:59:29 PM Hello, HallowAngel.
I have had this problem before, long before I started hacking my Wii. Every now and then, a Brawl-style screen would appear saying the disc could not be read. After some searching, I found out that it was a mechanical problem with the device within the Wii that reads discs; in other words, your problem likely has nothing to do with the mods. Disc cleaners did not work for me, so in the end I just bought a new Wii. It may be cheaper for you to send it to Nintendo if you still have a warranty, or get it repaired at a local electronics store. Hope this helped. Title: Re: Question? Post by: HallowAngel on July 10, 2011, 06:18:18 PM Do you know if there's any other alternative to fixing this?
Also, any game works fine. It's just when I use the hacks does it mess up. I checked to see if Brawl would work without the hacks, and it does. As do other games. So, I'm not sure if it is the device in my wii. Title: Re: Question? Post by: Jab on July 10, 2011, 06:36:04 PM How very strange...
No, I'm sorry, I do not have any other solutions. Although, the Brawl disc (and some others) are dual-layered; when I had this problem, my older non-Brawl games worked just fine as well because they were not dual-layered. http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/repair/dld_repair_home.jsp?problem=DLDNODISC&gameCode=SSBB explains what happened to me. Still, if Brawl is working without the hacks, then I do not have a clue as to what it could be. Sorry I could not help. Title: Re: Question? Post by: HallowAngel on July 10, 2011, 07:59:29 PM All of my games work. So, it can't be that.
I'm guessing I may have input the cheats incorrectly, but I haven't done anything that would mess up anything. I'll keep messing around then. |
