Hi i'm kinda new to the forums but i have a big issue
people might have had this problem before and complained but i need an logical explaination on why
my stage selection screen freezes. i can do every thing else fine but instead of pressing start to select a stage, i have to use the random stage selector to turn off all stages, select the one i wan't, set the stage choice from choose to random, and then start its really frustrating and sometimes i forget to set it to random which makes the game freeze up and i have to start over.
Does anyone know how to fix this or has expirenced this before?

Your selmap.pac is most likely too big. Care to tell me the size of said file?

already lowered it
the size is 1.14

Okay, try the fallowing.

Get a brand new selmap.pac
Export all the portraits from your old selmap.pac
Open up your new one
Replace the original ones with the changed ones. Only do that not the other fancy things like custom numbers and things. Can you upload your selmap.pac so i can take a look at it and see what is wrong with it?

it says the size is 1.15
but on my computer its 1.14

On your MisData(70) the very first line thats completely blank... Click that and put a ? on it or anything you want. see if it works

didn't work all it did was give me five seconds and it froze
heres whats on my selmap
nothings changed except the rumble falls preview which the size was changed to 88x88
thats what dropped it to 1.14
Also my css background is changed if that has to do with anything
(Flaming Blue CSS)

And that is why it is freezing. Get a new one and don't do that to it. It has to be the original size. i can't believe I did not see that xD

That's a fresh clean one. Do not worry about the file size if you use pre made ones there already reduced in size so you won't gain size but loose it.
If not just make sure when you make your own try to reduce the size.

Nope, you were not if you did not want to. Errmmm is the copy of your game NTSC, NTSC-J, or PAL?

not sure which is the USA version
EDIT: i did add a few things (changed a few sss preview images)

Oh okay. ummm..... can you upload the .txt file of the codes you are currently using? Have you tried not to use the flaming css thing see if it works like that?

What's with the Unknow codes. Are you sure they don't effect the SSS?

I'm pretty sure they don't otherwise wouldn't that just freeze the game period if that were the case

Nope, some files crash somethings. So, Did it work?

EDIT: wouldn't just be easiser if i just switch to riivolution

yeah just don't use those codes and remember that the portraits have to be the original size for them to work that  goes for everything exepdt names

I don't think its the code because i used the original codes that came with the custom css which had no unknown codes and it still froze  >:(

Okay, so if you use nothing but the file replacement code does it still freeze? You don't have a common.5 right?

I know a friend that does. Other people in this site do too. When I learn though I will tell you how asap
