Title: Porting A Character and placing the .rel file! Post by: That BattleToad PSA Guy on July 17, 2011, 08:30:56 PM I want to place a hack made over Toon Link on Olimar. So I got the FitToonlink and FitToonlinkMotion, renamed them to FitPikmin, renamed EVERYTHING to Fit FitPikmin, and...yeah. I'm only doing this because I have an active PSA over Toon Link already.
The only problem is the .rel placing. Where do I place the ft_toonlink.rel? And do I have to rename it ft_pikmin.rel. Title: Re: Porting A Character and placing the .rel file! Post by: Iris on July 17, 2011, 08:34:29 PM Yeah, rename it to fit_pikmin and all .rel files always go on the module folder
Title: Re: Porting A Character and placing the .rel file! Post by: TruePhilosopher on July 18, 2011, 12:34:18 AM You realize it's not that simple right? There's a good bit more to it then just renaming files, otherwise anyone could go over anyone.
Specifically Toon Link has articles and will not be able to be ported properly. You could try porting his model data, but he wont have the same moves, he'll have the hosts moves. Title: Re: Porting A Character and placing the .rel file! Post by: the98pika on July 18, 2011, 01:03:35 PM You could only port someone without articles like marth but still there will be glitches. toonlink over link worked because it has the same articles and same amount.
Title: Re: Porting A Character and placing the .rel file! Post by: That BattleToad PSA Guy on July 18, 2011, 01:07:09 PM But I put the Yosemite Sam PSA in Ike's Folder, MotionPac and All, and it worked fine. And that was hack made over Ness, which was made on Wario.
Title: Re: Porting A Character and placing the .rel file! Post by: TruePhilosopher on July 18, 2011, 05:09:43 PM Hacks like that are special, because they have the ability to not have articles generated via the psa. To put it simply the person made the psa without the use of articles therefore theoretically it should port over anyone without too many problems, however you'd still have to use IC Constants unless the 2 characters IC Constants are exactly the same/very similar.
