Title: Monkey D. Luffy over Marth (NOT Sheik!) ~ Moveset posted!

This epic guy here is over marth.

Thanks to Pervyman trigger and NaruZeldaMaster for ideas.

Current Team:
Black Neon X27
Pervyman Trigger
NaruZeldaMaster
Neku Sakuraba

Releases:
V.1: Without Specials and FS
V.2: Gear 2 added with specials
V.3: Final Smashes added

These might not be the only releases as the team will revamp some of the anmations, and probably even add new ones! :happy:
The moveset
A-Attacks:
A: basic punch, basically the Captain Falcon animation ~ 2% [animation done]

AA: Captain Falcon as well. ~ 3% [animation done]

AAA: Gatling gun: Luffy pulls back both fists, the lunges forward unleashing a torrent of fists upon the opponent. Low knockback. ~ 3% each hit

F-Tilt: Gum Gum Whip: Luffy kicks forward, leg stretched, and turns in a circle. Can be tilted upwards. ~ 8%

U-Tilt: Luffy throws his arm up into the air and shakes it back and forth hitting multiple times. ~ 2% each hit

D-Tilt: Luffy strecthes his leg forward to kick the opponent. ~ 4%

Air A-Attacks:
Neutral A: Gum Gum Fireworks: Luffy stretches his arms and legs while spinning in the air. ~ 9%

F-Air: Gum Gum Spinning Axe: Luffy spins forward while stretching his leg outwards. ~ 5% hits 2 times.

U-Air: Luffy kicks upwards. Snake's animation for his last A attack, except he stretches his leg straight up. ~ 4%

D-Air: Gum Gum Stamp: Luffy puts both of his feet together and stretches them downwards. ~ 6%

Smash Attacks:
F-Smash: Gum Gum Bazooka: Luffy throws both arms back, and snaps them forward hitting the opponent. ~ 15%

U-Smash: Gum Gum Axe: Luffy kicks his leg upwards, hitting the opponent as it goes, then brings it down, smashing anyone below him into the ground. ~ 20%

D-Smash: Gum Gum Rifle: Luffy throws his arm back like the pistol, but instead twists it as it goes. Once the punch hits the person in front of him, they become stunned until the final hit. ~ 5%. hits 5 times

Specials:
Neutral B: Gum Gum Pistol: Luffy strecthes his arm back, then snaps it forward hitting the opponent. ~ 15% medium knockback

Side B: Gum Gum Rocket: Luffy grabs the ground in front of him and stretches back, he snaps forward and flies. Kind of like Luigi's side B. ~ 2%, 4%, 8%, 16% due to a bonus like Luigi's move.

Down B: Gum Gum barrel: Luffy grabs his feet, and starts rooling across the stage like a barrel. Ths can be stopped by releasing the B button. ~ 6% per hit, hits as it goes, low knockback

Up B: Luffy twists his body around, then jumps up and unwinds, stretching his legs while turning. ~ 9% each hit. hits 2 times

Air Specials:
All same so far.

Throws:
Neutral A: Gum Gum Bell: Luffy extends his head back, then throws it forward hitting the opponent. ~ 2%

F-Throw: ?

B-Throw: Gum Gum Pinwheel: Luffy extends his arms, while swinging the opponent around 3 times. ~ 10%

U-Throw: ?

D-Throw: Gum Gum Hammer: Luffy spins his arms while holding the opponent, jumps behind them, and slams them to the ground. ~ 15%

Final Smashes:
Ground: Giant Jet Pistol:

Luffy enters Gear second, if not already in it. Luffy stretches his arm backwards, and blows air into his thumb. The air travels to the arm behind him, enlarging it to half of the screen, and punches forward, with the speed of Gear 2. Once the move is finished he becomes mini, and his damage rises to 100% ~ 70% but high knocback

Air: Giant Axe:

Luffy lifts his leg, and blows air into his thumb. The air travels to the leg above him, enlarging it to half of the screen, and kicks the ground creating a shockwave. Downfall is that the leg moves slow, so it's easy to dodge. Once the move is finished he becomes mini. ~ 100%

Taunts:
up taunt: Luffy throw his arms to the sky, if at or above 50%, he spawns food.

side taunt: Luffy picks his nose

down taunt: Luffy crouches, and slams his fist into the ground. He enters Gear 2nd, now all of his attacks are faster and stronger.

Attack strength increase: 10%
Speed increases
faster charging time for all smash attacks
All of his A moves become faster as well
damage increases 5% every five seconds
Once Luffy hits 200% he loses his Gear 2 transformation

Gear 2 moveset, accessible by using the down taunt, when at 100%:

A-Attack:
A: Gum Gum Jet Shotgun: Luffy puts both of his arms behind him, not stretching them. Then he shoots them forward, looking like pistol but with both arms. ~ 10% first hit

AA:  he does jet pistol with his right arm. ~ 6%

AAA: he does jet pistol with his left arm. ~ 7%

Tilts:

U-Tilt: Gum Gum Jet Explosion: Luffy lets loose with his arms and legs, just punching and kicking in all directions. He goes up as the attack goes on. The range is 2- times greater than the original fireworks. ~ 6% each hit
Smash Attacks

D-Tilt: Gum Gum Jet Ricochet: Luffy punches the ground, his fist bounces off and hits the opponent. ~ 10%

F-Tilt: Gum Gum Jet Whip: Luffy swings his leg around quickly, it's so fast that it's as if he never moved. This can also be tilted upwards. ~ 18%

Smash Attacks:
U-Smash: Gum Gum Jet Axe: Luffy lifts his leg quickly and brings it down with a larger collision bubble and more damage than the original Gum Gum Axe. No charging needed ~ 30%

D-Smash: ? (until further notice)

S-Smash: Gum Gum Jet Pistol: Luffy makes his stance, and instantly hits the opponent without moving. ~ 25%

Specials:
Neutral B: Gum Gum Jet Gatling: Luffy punches rapidly infront of him. This move can be held down, and can only be interrupted by hitting Luffy. ~ 3% each hit

Side B: Gum Gum Missle: Far stronger, faster, and longer range than the Gum Gum Rocket. There is also no chargng time for this move. ~ 16%

Down B: Gum Gum Storm: Luffy jumps into the air twisting his body, due to hs speed anyone above hiim wll get hurt, and get caught in storm as well. He starts unwinding and punching rapidly whle going back down to the stage. This move has a wide range. Due to being in Gear 2, Luffy gains 20% damage to make it fair. ~ 2% per hit


Up B: Gum Gum Sprinkler (I made that name up): Luffy twists his body really fast, jumps into the air unwinding his body. Luffy's arms and legs spin in opposite directions. This whole process is very fast due to Gear 2. ~ 5% per hit

If you do the animations I can do the psa work since Luffy will be easy to do hitbox wise >_>

You made a thread saying you were thinking of DOING a psa, you did not post a planned moveset for said psa. (Hence my sarcasm at seeing this thread -_-; ) Luffy has a lot of moves but not many that are strong enough to use as specials. The moveset I made up should suffice, it's pretty decent and shows all of luffy's famous moves and even some of the ones he doesn't use too often. The movelist is pretty sound, the only idea I'm not satisfied with (If luffy really was in brawl) is the down special.

Stats: Luffy's stats according to standard brawl tier.
Power: 5/10
Speed: 4/10 (A little faster than link)
Air Mobility: 6/10 (A little lighter than peach, cause like, he's made of rubber :notimp:)
Knockback: 5/10 Slightly oped but not enough to make him cruel
Damage: 4/10 He will rely mainly on his air A's to kill, and possibly his side B.

A: A straight right jab
AA: A straight left jab, he stretches his arm out a ways from him
AAA: A straight right jab again, this time he extends his arm farther than his second a and his fist gets bigger like mario's Up A.

Up A: Mario's uppercut, except he stretches his arm a bit cause ya know, he's made of rubber :af2:
Side A: A mighty swing of his fists in a downward arch. He also stretches his arms out a bit, but not much.
Down A: A low sweeping kick, and of course he stretches his leg out slightly.

Up Smash: Need Ideas
Side Smash: Gomu Gomu Axe: Luffy's famous axe kick, the one he used to KO Don Creig (Forgive me if that's spelled wrong :notimp: haven't watched OP in forever)
Down Smash: Gomu Gomu no Whip: Luffy spins his legs around like a hillecopter breakdance style while stretching them out. He will stretch them out further depending on how long you charge the attack.

Up Special: Gomu Gomu Rocketo!: Luffy fires his gomu gomu rocket down toward the ground, launching himself high into the air. He does damage to anyone who smacks into his back while he's flying upward.
Side Special: Gomu Gomu Gattling Gun: Luffy's infamous gattling gun move, ya'll know how it works right?
Down Special: Gomu Gomu Net: Luffy ties his fingers together in a net and reaches out, damaging anyone who gets slammed by the net. May or may not include a grab.
Neutral special: Gomu Gomu Pistol: Luffy's infamous double barreled pistol. It wil NOT be chargable unless someone helps me with it =_=

Final Smash: King of the Pirates! Luffy does a fully charged version of his side smash, down smash, then up smash in that order. While he's falling to the ground he yells "I'm gonna be king!" before curling up into a ball and extending his arms and legs out quite a ways before returning to normal.

The vertex could be better. Just because there is already a vertex over someone doesn't mean it has to be over them. The best Sora is probably Miacias' over Marth, but the psa is over Pit's. I plan to start watching One Piece this weekend at one friend's constant nagging demands request; I can't really say too much in the way of help at this point. All I know at the moment is he is a rubber-like pirate.

Snake seems like a fine candidate. How is his file size? I would think it is alright considering he has a ton of different weapons already.

Yes, because luffy uses lots of weapons he needs to be over someone who has weapons >_>
Luffy is mainly a hand-to hand fighter. Other than the occasional Ship Mast and even the bow of a ship. I doubt he's used any weapons.

Pirate does not always = weapons.

If the moveset was based on the Pre-skypia archs, I would hope that there's not many 2nd or third gear. The only ones he had at that point are Gomu Gomu Baloon and Gomu Gomu Net, and he had to do those changes manually.

Marth actually has a bigger filesize limit than Snake at least according to the PSA filesize limit topic.

One that's Pre- Princess Vivi-arch and one that's not?

And why not use my idea for the final smash then? All it is is him doing three of his normal moves and one final move in a row. Kinda like Spidermans new Final smash made by SD, just with different moves (obviously)

Well Actually I could handle making a gear third, quiet easy actually :af: Gear second is something I couldn't do. Unless we just made all his moves stronger and game him read skin. I could even make the skin. but that's about as far as my skills go

Well my idea was that he could go pretty crazy, like ya know, cause he's sort of done that a couple times.

Final Smash Idea version 2:
First he throws his arms up in the air and a speach bubble appears above his head (Ask SD how to do this, and check out spidermans taunt) That says "I want MEAAAAT!" ya know, cause he's crazy about meat. lol or he could alternatively say "I'm gonna be KING!" While doing a sorta tantrum-like  um...thing... *shrugs*

After that he does Gomu Gomu whip while spinning around on his head like a top for a bit. Then he uses Gomu Gomu Rocket to send him high into the air. And at the height of his jump he curles up into a ball before extending his arms and legs INSANELY far, like the distance of final destination.

Of Course, it wouldn't feel right or fair if I got help with mine and you didn't! :happy:

That's cool, I was thinking more of two different versions of the psa with the different moves (I'm sure your moveset is slightly different from mine if we're talking second or even third gear) since the animations themselves would be quite easy to do. Just not for me...my animations always look crappy >_>

They really aren't that difficult, but I just don't have the skill or patients for that sort of thing.

I'm pretty sure I can find some good video reference to make the animations easier.

Of course, if you happen to have Dead or Alive Dimentions on the 3DS and have Alpha-125 unlocked, just watch some of her moves and you'll see what I'm going for.

If you have said game but don't have her unlocked, just play through arcade mode with all the characters on the top row and complete all the courses, by then you should unlock all the boss characters including her.

it would be good if luffy had the gears changed at the taunt xD like up taunt 2nd gear  he gets red skind all the attack are abit faster and do abit more damage  (but he takes a bit of damage himself over time like goku kaikoen xD) down taunt gear third his attacks get slower but more widder  and do more damage than the 2nd gear  and after some time  we would lose gear third and make him absorb a small mushroom so he keeps tiny for a bit xD
the down taunt and up taunt would only affect b moves like gatling gun and etc

this is just an idea i had just trowing some ideas if you guys need any

AA: After she Kicks high like that she stomps her foot down shortly after. I would like this to be the second A

Side A: the third 'Jab' when she punches straight out after spinning once.
Side Down A(Will be added through PSA): In the second fight, she leans backward and throws one of her legs outward a little.
Side Up A (Again, added through psa): That exagerated uppercut where she leaves the ground slightly while leaning forward a bit.

Dash Attack: what the third guy (I think it's Jan Lee or something) to the T-rex. 4:54-4:57 in the video
Forward Throw: What Hitomi does to the guy who KOED the T-Rex before she wins, the punch included

Side Taunt: What La Maramosa ( the black lady) does before the fight starts.
Down Taunt: What  the second guy she fights does before the fight starts.
Up Taunt: What Ein (the first guy she fights) does before the start of the fight

BTW: I'm not sure if I can help much, but I can test and give feedback >_>

Forward Throw: What Hitomi does to the guy who KOED the T-Rex before she wins, the punch included

Side Taunt: What La Maramosa ( the black lady) does before the fight starts.
Down Taunt: What  the second guy she fights does before the fight starts.
Up Taunt: What Ein (the first guy she fights) does before the start of the fight

Yikes! I can make that. The problem is it goes to fast. Think you could get a slower video or just describe it :srs: It'll make it easier for me. From what I can actully see it looks like two low kicks, fliping upside down and then a spining kick. And after that just flaoting into the air for a second. Am I correct.
(Sorry I can't see very well atm and I'm not getting glasses till monday)

There's a slightly slower version of what I'm looking for.

It happens at 0:17-0:20 in the video.

Basically she's spinning around on her foot like a top (really quickly) three times before she floats up into the air a bit afterwards. For sheiks version I have her standing on her left foot. It doesn't really matter what direction she spins around in as long as it's three times.

Here's a snapshot of what Frame 1 of the animation should look like, I can send the start and hold (or rather "loop" since it's going over Sheiks N B XD) anims via pm if you need them.

Yeah, stretching is possible! One Ganondorf PSA had it, he could stretch his arm to grab people, same with the captain Falcon Big Fist PSA!

Again, marth has a bigger file size, and he can be ported and he also has a vertex of Luffy over him already.

If someone could vertex that sword out (Like how Naruto vertexed Ike's sword out) then Luffy would be ready for animations.

Heres an update because I am unable to edit the first post.

A few of his gear second animations have been finished as well as a few A attacks and B attacks.
Amoung that his down B is being changed. Due to the way brawl work's ballon is impossible.

His entry anamations have also been finished.

And that's about it. Oh! If you have any ideas for a new down B, be it original or from the show, post a comment on it, but if you do make sure this dosen't end up as a copy of anything else were aready using.

Actually that sounds pretty neat, wonder why I didn't think of that. Aw well I'll talk to Neon about it since he's the one runnin the show.

It wasn't my idea to put him over Marth, but I was thinking between Ness and Marth, but it seems everyone wants Marth so that he can be .rel ported over others. I mean who would want to get rid of Spider-Man, as it says in the opening (credit to Pervyman Trigger).

yeah this PSA is easy psa work (really easy) the hardest is maybe gear 2nd. but still thats easy loop some GFX in a subrotation and add if bit is set: LA-Bit(over 100) on the attacks you need to change/boosts (just like my goku´s kaioken)

but Animations they will be hard

you have to thing about filesize too

i it was barely impossible to make kaioken over cp. falcon for goku but i know marth got higher filesize limit but still if adding subrotations(offset to if bit is set and GFX+loop) to almost any subactions it come high up in filesize just by coding

good idea to add subrotations in Event list: Other
if GFX is used

So Guess what, the new down Bs Almost done, it's PSA is soon to be made too. It's based of yoshis side B and is using Marhts screw attack animation with a few GFX's to cover everything and make it look right. Over all untill tested in game this is only a theory.
Pistol is still being worked on and is over all 68% done. trust me it's alot harder than it should be to animate :srs:
I've started on Rocket and the Up B (Which I like to call propeller) But due to Barrel and Pistol there very little done.
His entry is almost finished and two of his taunts are being worked on.
I've halfway finished his pinwheel grab and Bazooka

Black Neon's Progress
A is done
AA is done
AAA is done
Gum gum fireworks is done
Gum Gum whip is done
Most of the aerial A attacks are done
Just a few more ground Attacks to go

i see some nice progress is being made i see most of the animations are already made good luck with the B attacks xD
just nipticking in the OP when luffy has the hug arm and leg you say its gear second but when luffy makes his menbers grow like that is gear third and he doesnt glow red or release smoke thats gear two only unless im mistaken since i see luffy using gear third for  awhile

Yeah, it's Gear 4 (credit to Pervyman Trigger). After the time skip, Luffy learns how to use both at the same time. It's pretty crazy. :srs:

Some time during that arc with the zombies after he uses giant pistol with gear second second, but I couldn't find an image or a clip of it.

Important EDIT: Great news friends, I found a Pal sound data base(Thanks to ssbbtailsfan) and so I'll be able to edit the PSA so it's pa soundl friendly :af:

lol yeah, I know, I've watched  both the dubbed and subbed version of that episode. XD
But I could imagine those two being normal people (well technically the mayor is normal but still lol) in the real world and luffy bumps into him and says that XD

I actually sympathise with how luffy thinks/acts somewhat, but the only other anime character I've really been able to "relate" to is Hitaki from Chobits ^+^ but enough about that. >=D

Hehehe I need to get started on my animations for a Metal Sonic (SMBZ and Sonic3 & Knuckles based) moveset I'm planning :D o and finish the specials animations for my dark super sonic so Aniverge can help me out on the specials and FS for dark super sonic.

Can't wait to see this finished lol I'm going to make a luffy vs cloud video when it's done XD

Thanks, all feed back is aprciated but please, try and refain from sayin "Good job" or "Great animations" even if you think they are. What I want from you to to critize them, constructivly. Tell me each and everything you think is wrong with an animation you see posted, that way I have time to fix them up a little before the release, and have a knowledge of what to do for the next. I have no idea how to do that, but when corecting one frame the rest tend to follow, I'll post more frames latter, for now I want to finish up a few things o-o

EDIT: I'm working on his dragon ride animation. I plan on making him ride the front of it upside down like he does on the going-merry in the opening of the first season

Man I am behind. Well you should start working on his pain animations if your done with your current ones

Gum-Gum Barrel V1 is done, what's left that needs to be done is fix up his animation a little (The ending especially) and quite possible make luffy dizzy for a second after using it, but it's good for a first release.

Okay, so I just downloaded a BRSAR extractor and a ISO explorer to extract said BRSAR files from. If someone would be nice enough to get me the ISO for any of the One Piece Games on the wii (preferibly the US version of said game and via mediafire download ^+^) I'd be more than happy to see what I can do about getting you guys some luffy voices for sound pack purposes.

So I've spent the last two days working purely on the pistol, and I've almost got it down, just a couple more frames. Keep in mind it's a little choppy here and there, some movements are faster than others, his arm wiggles like crazy when moving(Took FIVE HOURS to get the arm to it's current state, before it shot ALL OVER the place) and his leg animations look kind of bad (But I got him to stop floating >.<). I COULD finish this animation to perfection with an extra day or two but something happened messing up my schedule. I now have to leave on the 12, which means I need the 10 and 11 to get everything ready, and have to shove all my animation work into two days to meet the dead line.

To Black Neon: I am going to be able to work on this during my long interstate travels because someone else is coming with me so I'll need your animations soon, I'll bundle them together and finish as many as I can finish by the 9th and send it back. Sometime between the 12-14th I'll send you the rest of the files, and maybe JUST maybe, I might be able to make pistol one animation instead of 3 :af:

Marth can be ported with a .rel and the clone engine....
and so can the psa's and vertexes too.

Well crap, I just realized that the wait1 animation I sent out WASN'T my resized one but the original made by neon :>.>palm: [censored]. Nobody use that animation till I go back and resize it. The T-pose is resized though, and now I gotta go and resize all the animations :srs:

Sorry guys but I'm going to have to drop off the animation train of this project. My computer died and I have no way of fixing it. Thus being I have not only lost all my Luffy files, but I've lost any possible way or working on them. I can still support this project and give advice or suggestions, but that's about it

Hope Yet! I have made contact with a few old buddy's of mine in other states (Amazing right! It is a small world after all) :af: Anyway I'm going to see them both, techno dave and Computer Mike, and one of them might be able to either fix it, or recover my files and reinstall it. I might just end up losing my files in the end but even so I'll have a working windows and be able to hack once again.

So good news and bad news, well more like news that's good and bad. Anyway heres the run down. Mike is able to fix my computer, even make it work better than before, which may in turn get rid of my need to buy a new laptop. This has however costed me $100 and all of my files. A virus corrupted EVERYTHING inside so I can't recover them and will in turn need to start over on everything. Good news again is that I backed up half of my files (None of which go towards brawl hacking) so I'll be able to jump right back in. Although it'll take two weeks to get my computer back, but when I do I'll work my hardest to get Luffy done :af:

That may be so but Like I said I'm a perfectionist. I was making pistol a carbon-copy of the show, with no details left out! That's why it was taking me so long to make it, and trust me when I get my computer back I'm going to do it all again, and becuase of the experience I gained when making pistol, the knowledge of how to make it properly, and the knowledge of how to make it correctly string into one animation(Starting over may actually make it easier) I'll be able to make it closer to perfect this time ^_^

The other animations should be quite easy to make up. Overall, adding the two weeks till I get my laptop, plus an extra week for safety, along with he time it should take me to re-make the animations... give me about two months!

That's actually the original texture :srs: My computer hated brawlbox so it would always screw up, this being one of thos screw ups :af: If I scrolled in or out the texture would change :P

kth putted the luffy ness vertex in the recycle seccion he said it had problems and couldnt be fixed or something so dont expect the ness vertex :S use the one over marth its best

i hope the vertex can be ported over marth or a other (useless one so can i use kid goku vertex over Ness as oneslot and PSA Kid goku over Ness :D)

Well anyway with the new brawlbox we can add bones to the bone tree now. Meaning me may be able to get his right hand to animate and even add the needed bones to his arm's to make stretching look correct

i grew up with DBZ and pokemon thats why i like them so much xD i started to watch one piece like 4 years ago and liked it too so i followed it xD well i folow many animes now i follow naruto shippuuden/bleach/one piece  those are the animes i follow right know since pokemon is kinda lame animewise  and DBZ was finished many years ago :P

Well yeah, this is a little different than the one from before. Basically I got tired of [censored]ing with that computer and bought a new one :srs: I had it specs checked to the number, making sure it did EVERYTHING I wanted it to do. Basically I got one BUILT for this [censored]. And now I'll be able to work FASTER than ever. But of corse I have to wait a little as the store was out. I bought it and got the other software and got some packs and vireswar and everything. So come Wednesday I'll have it in my hands, fully working, installed, and raring to go :af:

Well I dunno what you did but I JUST got done fixing that the guard animations, and I saw alot of the others. SO I SAY HERE AND NOW! I'm taking over animation making now :P Though almost all of them can out near perfect, just alot of small things need to be fixed. I also like the fill in ya did for pistol, gave me an idea on how to do it.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong I don't want to sound self absorbed or anything, it's just easier for me to make an animation and fix it up if I work on it then to fix up someone elses

Basically when I finish editing Neons animations, we get feedback from Brawler, and Neon finish's the PSA work o-o

EDIT: REPORT TIME!

1. If what I did indeed see was Gatling it looks GREAT, but let me suggest a few changes. Little trinkets make it come alive and seem better than it is, such as a little shaking of his body as he fires the next punch. Also the bending of his arms, it does look great but if he ebnt his arms back them punched forward again it would just feel right, it's easy to accomplish this and get the fame past pace effect if you past it right and cut the correct frames.

2. I'm gonna see if I can't incorporate my new version of pistol into this before we release

3. It's not resized =.= So I'm comparing it to the current Sanji hack and resizing it accordingly to get the best result

EDIT AGAIN: Two new animations have been finished (Well are at V1) and the resize has been completed, according to Sanji's height and according to the show to give the best one peice fell, anyway the two new animations are the wait animations and they are as follows.

1. Luffy stands and swing his arm in a circle. I had trouble with this one and it's basically done, I just need little tweaks here and there to make it more lively, otherwise it's kinda dull the way only his arm moves.

2. Luffy Sleeps

This one is a bit of a [censored] to me as arm rotation and brawlbox don't agree. I need to go though the frames and fix them, then go back and give him that rising and lowering of the shoulders and chest so it'll look like he's breathing.

Ha I'm rotating between Snaji and Luffy when Making their animations :af:

EDIT ONE MORE: Seems like we never get posts anymore :o Anyway I've gone though and have almost finished fixing neons animations (Some I had to scratch and re-do myself) And I've even added more. Like two of the three taunts, were he thrusts his arms upward (Made SUPER easy by neons Gatling animation) and the one where he picks his nose. I've also finished the pistol animation (for the most part) and made a few new moves. Now alot of what I'm working on I'm having to improvise for so it may not be the best of quailty, but I've made them good enough for when we make a first release. That's about all I have to say for now

Well I had lost my computer at one point remember? That Kinda killed activity for a little. This is actually the first time I got back to him, and I've made almost 6 brand new animations. in fact I'm about to finish Bazooka. Though I borrowed his run from my Sanji project :af2: Anyway If I get the time We may be able to skip the V1 Release and go straight to V2, minus gear second of course. I'll have in-game pictures of his progress soon enough :happy:

Well I haven't heard from neon in awhile, but I think he told me he's holding off on the PSA till I finish my stuff. Meaning he has the PSA edited to the last motion file, but he's waiting to get the motion file from me and shifting the PSA to match it. I dunno o-o I also hope he doesn't mind that I scratched a few of his animations and made my own in place >.< and that I changed up a few moves

Well I have about a week to a little less of free time so hopefully yes :af:

The first and third are gone, just animation problems. But the middle one isn't as much of a glitch, but something PSA does. I've been told you need to "Unlock legs" in the PSA to make them go OVER the character, or even straight forward. You need to be doing that for a few animations with Sanji also (A attacks for example) :srs:

I'm sorry for being gone so long, anyways, I had seen you had finished a lot of animations. I had tried to log in to say thanks for the hard work, but then it happened. For some reason it kept saying check your cookies setting, which I did. I then came back again, but then the site said it was under construction. So I thought that they were fixing this problem. I had waited, and waited, until it was finally time for ACT testing! And here I am practically two months later to say I'm sorry for my absence and that I'm more than ready to work up a storm! Let's kick shell!!!

not yet my body. I have to do some slight editing because I have to combine his model with his other model that has open hands first, because the guy who ripped it for me used an emulater, meaning I have to T-Pose myself, and combine differnt model parts, and well, there's alot of work to be done before a preview is in order

An Idea for that model. If you will import him for the PSA, give him more than just one joint on arms and legs. This way you will be able to animate his attacks in a better way. He is rubber anyway :D.

If it is an imported model, the importer could easily create a cigarette (or even take one already made) and put it in the model. However I still think the cigar should be a GFX, that way he could throw it on a taunt(or attack). If in a taunt, It will be cool if it acted like luigi's kick, just does 1%, hard to land it porperly and a freaking huge meteor smash.

Here's the deal. I have in my possession every Luffy model and sound effect from Unlimited Adventure and Unlimited Cruise.

The catch is that they are in .aar format (the sounds are brstm). I have no idea how to extract from them, so if you want to use them, that's your mission. PM me for the zip.

I have done that before, never found how to extract anything from those files. I suggest you just "finish" luffy's head. Just add some hair or whatever to cover the hole.

Why not make the down  special that haki move where luffy knocks every one out. I think I know a cool way to make it, I can post a video about it (being executed by marth)

Sounds good and fun to make. I was having trouble with the damned barrel roll anyway. I'll talk to neon about it ^_^

I made (real quick and not as well as I should) the move to test it out. It´s cool but really hard to hit(Easily shieldable and only hits grounded, little knockback on air), and not very usefull :P. So I think we could use two hitboxes, one for air oponents and one for ground oponents. The ground one could be made unshieldable cause it only "downs" oponents. The air one could have certain knockback for it to be useful.
And the model I have Is not from a game, was made by someone. I checked it better and I do not like the feet or the hands. But the rest is ok, I can send it If you still want it.

Don't worry, I think I've got a cool way to make this play out, but I think it should function in more of a "wave" The farther away you are the longer you have to avoid it, and I'll make sure to calculate your idea's into the equation, but like I said before, I'll have tot like to neon about it
And yeah send me the model, I'll switch out what parts of the model I don't like and morph it with another that fits

Scabadadoosh! Heres the damn model you want to see. Oh and I'll make a wifi safe one slot version, along with a PSA version that'll have finger bones, and added arm/leg bones for stretching purposes.

Oh and don't worry about the whole no hands thing. I'll be merging a brawl model with him to replace them, as the original ones were a solid square.

there are three types of haki
1-he is able to detect an attack and evade it-this could be like a counter but without the attacking back part if you want to use this one or maybe unique dodges
2-armament:where he hardens a certain area of his body to attack with..im not sure how this could be represented maybe it would be on his smash attacks when he uses this the body part in use turns black

Taken into consideration. So far I've seen all the types of haki, but I've only seen luffy use the Elephant Gun for Armament(I follow the anime) I most likely will not be able to work in the first type, as I'd like to avoid the counter type with luffy. Back to the Elephant Gun, I may use this to replace the giant pistol. I also have a better idea to replace giant axe, which involves something similar to when luffy first used gear second. On the note of gear second me and KTH have worked out a deal regarding luffys model. I'll be supplying the model, and he'll make a brawl styled textures, but on top of that were aiming to make his final smash eye look like his gear second form. And on note of that (Well i just keep jumping now don't I?) I may be able to create separate models for use for use with certain attacks (I.E. Extra fists for Gatling, a separate arm for Elephant Gun, etc) Here's a few things I also plan to work out

1. Moveset revamp: The current one seems a bit dated and in no way holds up it's own in the current world of brawl hacking, nor pushes near the limits. Becuse of this I'm hopeing I can "spice" it up a bit

2. Animation revamp: This'll add some time to any possible release, including a beta, but it'll be well worth it. I have gained some skill since I first started so not only will animations look better, but they'll flow alot more smoothly

3. Hat/head problem: Considering we not have a working Luffy model, with a complete Hat and Head, we can now do extra things with it. For one while it will be placed on his head normally, it'll be on his back like in the preview during gear second. I also plan to use it for a new taunt, so I can replace one of the less worthy ones (I.E. Noise Pick >.>)

I may have missed some things I wanted to get out there but, well yeah. After tomorrow I'll be finished with my business were I'm at and will have four days before I have to hit the road again, meaning full internet for that time ;D In that time I'd like to talk with all of you for ideas, what you like/don't like, how you think certain things should happen, and so on. For now I'm gonna sleep. I'll see you all in one day ^_~

Let me break it down for you.

Animation = Character movements

PSA =  What a character does durin ammunition

Alot of information about an animation is needed to make the PSA code for it. That includes frames, which specific frame needs a hurtbox, and which specific frame does what.

Basically neon can not PSA anything that does not have an animation. He's done some work, for older animations we have completed, but going past what's animated is kind of hard

Yes he has. The hair in the model is also black, I can show you the texture If you still wanna see it. Is just cause it has shadows and whiter parts and 3ds max lightning. It looks brighter than black, but it is black :P

that model is the time skip luffy 2 years later from the model you are used to think of it like shippuden naruto looking different from young naruto after the time skip you probably are not that far into the show yet thats all

I think It can get better. I have always had the feeling one piece characters had big hands and feet. May just be my imagination, but you could check and see if their proportions are right. Anyway, nice work on the hands.

Honestly proportions go out the window when rigging. Which is why some models are so [censored]ed when imported. They had to be taken out of proportion to be able to be rigged. He'll match up to Marth's proportions when he's done for the public release, but I'll take into consideration what you just said when I re-rig him for the PSA

All right guys I have a new moveset in the making, but it's very incomplete. Now before I present any new moveset ideas to neon I'd like to make it completely new moveset, and the best i can so anyone who wants to look it over and add ideas or change things around just send me a pm for it. Could anyone on this team please, please help me rig Krystal??

I have tried, honest to god, several times, and there's always SOMETHING X_X I can get the model imported into brawlbox and whatnot now, that's not the problem. But I need help with the rigging, major help... T-T I've already had Xiggah help me T stance Krystal's hands, but god, this rigging...ugh, I swear I think god hates me doing this for some reason. >_>

Forgive me if that seemed a bit *ahem* overdramatic, but it's truly how I feel about this and I really want to get this done before the year is over, psa and all. Of course credit will be given for the help, probably as a colab.

I've gotten some help from Xiggah (which I'm grateful for by the way) and some tips from Nymph on the textures. But other than that, no, not much help, most likely cause of my vault being pretty much garbage XP and having very few downloads. I may be able to change that though if my idea works for link.

I actually have only scaled the top N bone, and I've scaled down the model to be about marth's size when I import her. I guess I'll start with a fresh skeleton and hope for the best. Maybe, just maybe that's it, and I'm hoping to god it is :/ cause I was having no problems rigging before :)

I am a little surprised though, most people seem to intemperate my frustration with stereotypical "whining" for some reason >_<;; I know I freak out more than I should, but I mostly blame my personality *shrug* one of the eight or ten flaws I have >_>

Well theres a bit of a bump with the whole model thing >.> In plan, it sucks, and is unrigable. There hasn't been much progress towards anything, because the PSA relies on the animations, and the animations relies on the model. I could start animating without a model, but would like to wait for the bonuses of added bones for curvable stretching, realistic proportions, and new model parts for attack purposes.

Now for those of you who want me to just get this show on the rode, I can just take the luffy vertex, and re-rig it a modified set of Marths bones. I can't say how this will turn out overall, but it'll defiantly be a start I guess. Since I can't set up polls here I'll start on this method with 6 comments telling me to do so

And before I hear anymore "whys this taking so long" and "wheres luffy?" and other [censored] let me remind you.
There are ONLY TWO men working on this, I have not only posted here, but on various other locations for HELP WITH MAKING THIS, which NO ONE has taken up, including a few of you well able men not only asking why he's unfinished, but also have thought of taking the project upon yourselves. DO NOT think of starting your OWN but INSTEAD JOIN IN on this one.

Other than that, once I can start animating I'm sure it'll pass by rather quickly, and the model parts I can add though rigging will not only make animations smoother, but help them go by faster

No, in this case the vertex would work better, as the vertex's hat can come off, just has to be rigged that way

Meh, I'm not worried about it. In truth I cant use the model, he has about four verts making his arm, so it turns square when bent and would make his attacks akward. That and the model itself has many problems. I'm probably just going to fuse the vertex and the DON model into one so it looks decent and use that till I get a better one

Now that I have a model worth importing and fitting of my needs, I can make Luffy! He'll feature both hands fully rigged, an animated hat, Possible multiple faces >.> (Someone needs to get me his Battle Stadium DON texture rips) Attack models (Gatling gun, Firewors, etc.) and more bones

Well now that I have his model I have MOTIVATION! I'm taking a brake from other projects and model imports to blast though and work on luffy as fast as I can, but while making him best as I can. The moveset you ask? I combination of the current one and my own. I'm also no longer limited like I used to be. Luffy has more bone's in his arms for stretching animations, a bone for his hat, Hell I could even make balloon now, something that was made impossible before due to the limited resources we had. Come the 15th I'm going to start working, and the 29th I'll show you all everything I've done, as proof that you won't be waiting much longer ^_~

I saw that in your thread and was actually using it for animation reference. Remember that the gear second is to be activated by taunt and not take the place of the final smash
if 2nd. gear is FS
where is 3. gear then?

He has two final smash's so don't worry ^_~

marth has a model changer so you can probably activate the gear second texture by psa

All right I'll be postponing the finishing of the model guys, not because I'm stopping work on it, but because I have to figure it out. The reason is because of Luffys strange structure. To not only get him to work right normally, but be able to stretch, both without problem is as I'm sure, impossible with the current workings. I'm going to have to go over this with careful planing and figure out a way to make everything work flawlessly, so It's going to take more time >.> but as it is now, I can either make it stretch perfect and it'll mess up normally, or move perfectly normal, and mess up when stretching. Though I think I may know a system that'll work. Just believe in my guys, and I'll have a preview showing and explaining it all when I finish it

No, kid buu's and luffys stretching are two entirely different things. Look closely at kid buu when he does, it's a simple and straight stretch, now look at Luffy, most of his stretching curves. The problem is making luffy curve, all the while making him work properly when not doing so. But don't worry, I'm about to test a very basic version of the system I hope will work, and hopefully will get good results. Though it'll make animation a bit crazy to work with, luckily the guy making the system is the one animating ;D

Things like whip, stamp, mostly leg based attacks. He has a few arm one's two, mostly at stronger variations of his regular attacks but, you know. It's also to make animations smoother and better bring out the fact that he is, indeed, rubber

EDIT: The good news is the basic test worked, but with a few minor bumbs here and there. I'm going to fix them and try again, then move onto an advanced test

Look closely at the way he clamps his legs, you'll see they have a slight curve to them right before he shoots the down. Actually I'm thinking of spear lol

Well the good thing is my idea worked, and as greatly as I had hoped

"Normal Motion Control"
This is what Luffy would use for things like regular walking and movement. It's simple and easy to use

This is what Luffy would use when stretching. It does have it's extreme angel limits, but for what we need to use it for it should be perfect. It does have it annoyances when trying to work with in some ways, but overall makes a Killer result ^_~

Now I'm not entirely sure, but you may have noticed that there's a difference between the arms that "Stretch" and the ones for normal moment. That's because of this

Four arms, four legs, in pairs of two, each with different bone sets. The normal arms also have a lower vertical count, so as to take up less file space and keep everything within the limit.

If your wondering about the two hats, thet'll be explained another day. For now this is everything as up to date. Next I'll show you some previews of the "new gen" Luffy model animations and how they work differently than before. So look forward to it ^_~

Looks better, but still strange. EXPLANATION TIME!
Huge amount of floating arms: Gatling, and possibly any other move in this moveset were luffy would punch so fast his arms would be everywhere at once

Big round ball: Fireworks, It is literately impossible to make luffy turn into a ball with arms and legs shooting everywhere, so here's your solution. Demonstrations come later

Extra arms and legs: Both serve a different purpose. One pair is for normal movement, while the other pair is for stretching movement.

Extra hat: Puzzling indeed right? Well it's simple. It'll be zeroed out during animations, so it won't be a problem, but it's true purpose is for the gear second, were Luffys hat will be on his back. This is a much easier alternative to having to animate the hat onto his back, where as it would follow his head movements.

I know I said I'd show you motion examples with this new model, but that didn't happen. This is really all I have left to showcase with the model, so next it will be animations I promise ^_~

luffy looks good so each arm as  an extra bone to be controled? thats alot of arms lol  also i dont think the hat will be possible since  if gear second he can walk around and stuff he will be using some animations for gearless luffy so recizing anymations will make the hat disapear even in gear second if you know what i mean marth has a model changer that makes the sword go away  but i dont know if its possible to make the top hat disapear while the back hat appears and he gets 2nd gear texture(i think its possible no need to mess with animations on this ones)

Well considering I'm the one making his animations and [censored], I'll make it work. The two hats will be need, in between hat taunts and what not it'll be overall easier to do it this way. It all comes down to file size, and who knows. I have yet to actually check Marths GFX's. Were still in the VERY EARLY beta stage here so many things are still being changed around

Yup, and I'll be sending everything to you soon for your epic treatment ^_~

Small note, Marth has three models inside his .pac So I could make it one for Gear Second with that model changer you guys speak of, and the other two for his hats. That'll also help make my idea possible of being able to switch hat positions whenever ;D

I would like to, But I don't have the needed parts to make that >.> The reason I went with this outfit was because the timeskip outfit I had was horrible. Oh and I ahd an idea KTH, I'll PM it to you in a second.

ALSO:
I'm going to make a new Luffy, thread. Mainly for point of being able to update the OP and title so it'll be easier to see whats new with luffy. Now don't get me wrong it's still neons project and he's in charge, I jsut need to b able to update the thread whenever
