Title: *Needs questions anwsered about stage hacking*
Post by: C.S.Dinah on August 07, 2011, 11:28:35 AM
I'm trying to create a stage, and I keep running into the same issue.

When I check preview the stage in the collision data it looks ok, however in game my new model is not there and the game's speed is noticeably slowed down it's a huge mess... Can someone explain what why this happened and what can I do to fix it?

Maybe your model is corrupted?

Where does your model come from?

My model comes from SSE, I guess when I pre hexed the model and added it in the huge slow down occurs while playing on this stage. No information is seen.

Also could you tell me why texture placements go out of order and how I can fix that?

Did you delete some part or something?

By the way, texture problems are solved here:

Yea I hexed out polygons of the SSE model and it caused the lag in-game, and thanks for the thread it was really helpful.

I guess it happened when I swapped battlefield's lower area with the SSE base, how can I fix that?

Get the original model, and don't hex anything out. Just make invisible the undesired parts by editing the materials and making the sides not visible. In the old brawlbox, that's type=3. In the new one, I suppose it says 'no sides' or something like that.

So typing "3" in the Type value in materials makes the textures transparent?

Also what is the cause of online desyncing?

That question has no answer yet. If the collisions are exactly the same, miscdata[10] is untouched and the stgposition is the original, it shouldn't desync. But many stages were reported to be desyncing even with those. Having some extra models in extra modeldatas may make the action to be faster or slower, resulting on having a desync in the stage.

Just try to change the models from one modeldata to another and play the same replay to see if something gets better.

Alright my stage seems to be working online so far, and I plan to get that on to the vault pretty soon I thank you for your help in all of this, I learned a few things. =3

I should probably change my title so I can hopefully get help on something else. lol

Thanks!
