Title: PSA hacking
Post by: SKLLedOne on October 02, 2009, 07:08:42 PM
Okay, I think it's time I contributed something.  I need someone to tell me what I need and how to do it.  Any video tutorials are VERY welcome.  I want to be able to make stuff that I can post on this forum, and NOW IS THE TIME FOR ME TO GO TO IT!

Do you mean, how to make PSA hacks, or everything? If I were you, I'd check the tutorial section (though it has nothing PSA related)

Just PSA stuff. It seems easy enough to start with.

PSA is like a differnt language to me. I don't really like PSA either...

I don't mean to be OVERLY condescending, but if the above is true, then why the hell did you click on a topic clearly labled "PSA Hacking"?

Oh. Here ya go.
1. Get PSA and the Fit[character].pac files.
2. Aimlessly look through a .pac file in PSA.
3. Lurk in the Attack Hacks forum.
4. Through trial and error, you'll learn the basics pretty quickly.
5. Give STUFF2o a cookie.

To finally be able to point out the fact that there isn't a good PSA hack yet. I mean all of them make the game too easy.

Sure was a good thing I kept a dead forum favorited.

@OizenZ
There's Wisp, Fighter Kirby, Villain of Time (self-advertisement), Echo Blade Sheik, Phoenix Mario. They're not even as broken as MK or Snake. And they're still win.

Or, you could look in the Attack Hacks section.

If you don't have trouble with advanced coding, you will find this fairly fun and easy (since its just basic coding with GUI), if you are hopeless at any sort of code, you will be pretty fail at this to start with.

Yes there is. That's where people with PSA .02 get it.

I have pretty much little to no knowledge of code, but PSA wasn't THAT hard to get used to. Obviously, coding knowledge must help, though.

Well its coding with a GUI. Its easier because of the GUI.

It's easy with PSA anyway. Once you expose yourself to it and experiment a while, it's extremely easy to pick up.

Honestly, I know [censored] all about coding and other technological stuff, but I still manged to make a simple moveset, so it just takes trial and error to make one.

...am i doing something wrong? I extracted the files into the data folder like it said for me to do (read that somewhere) and then i opened PSA, then file>open went into Toon Link's folder, and then I got errors saying "bad file" and "error reading file". WTF?

Don't copy them into the "data" folder. That's where some of the stuff that helps PSA function is kept. You can keep the .pac's anywhere. I don't keep them anywhere near PSA itself.

ooooooohhhhhhhh... thanks, now i feel stupid  :oshi:

Oh well, we all make mistakes sometimes :P

Thanks!

EDIT: i moved them out of the data folder and tried to open them again, and it did the same thing.  The name of the file i'm trying to open is "FitToonLink00.pac".  I got it from the PAC and TGA pack from the download everything place that was posted earlier.

You need FitToonlink.pac

Yeh the one without numbers. You also need the latest net framework.

I got the net framework when I downloaded Smashbox, but where is the "one without numbers"? (I assume you mean one named "FitToonLink.pac")  Do I need to download it somewhere else?

not a good psa? just look the hell around! If your willing to see them, they're there. but you'll probably just see "crap" because thats what you want to see.

Ugh...I don't think I have the time, patience, or the necessary coding skills to do this right now...maybe in a few months I'll try again.  Thank you all for trying to help me, though!  I really appreciate it!
