Feeling rather stuck, and thought I should seek some help.
You would get much more useful feedback if you elaborated on what exactly you did that might cause the game to freeze.
Did you add something? A stage? A character?
This happened after I added more battle portraits
Your sc_selmap.pac must be too big.
You can halve the sizes of the bigger previews and index the thumbnails to reduce file size.

Thanks, but the main situation here is battle portraits. While I was retexturing, I might have missed something from BrawlBox, about some corruption.
Oh. The select screen.
You must be using 0.64d modset of BrawlBox by Bero.
Use .63d to replace portraits. Trust me, I've had this problem before.

While I was replacing portraits, at some point, a message popped up saying something about corruption. I wasn't paying attention at that time and probably missed something. In retrospect, that must've been the cause of the problem.
I'd say export the BRRES files and reimport them. See if that works.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks! The minute I retry, I'll reply for results
I would restart.
You already have all the images needed to make portraits (I assume); it shouldn't actually take that long to turn them into portraits again.

That just may be the case. I'll give it a shot.

Even after exporting the battle portraits, it still crashes.

Must be my CSS then
If thats the case, here's hoping it works
I'd have to redo every portrait I've done if this works
If elsewise, I'm just plum out of luck

Check if they're compressed as LZ77.

Settle down BJ.
It will take a while for people to realize you're head now.
Well, BJ, does the CSS freezing issue happen in your Brawlbox?
It happened in Bero's modset...

I don't know why it would.
I'm betting his problem is the battle portraits are compressed though.
