Is there a guide on how to do this yet? now that i got SSE stages replacin other i would like to replace them

It's not hard, use Smashbox.

^And I was told that editing it in any way simply causes the file size to change and lock up the game. XD

Whoever said that has no clue of what they're talking about, my common5 is 11,616 KB,

Unless they're using 2.1a/2.1b of the SD Loader, of course it will lock up the game.

Ah. Once I'm done with CSPs(ugh) and battle portraits, I may try to edit my SSS screens then. Maybe. >_>

It's extremely easy to do in BrawlScape.

You don't need a damn guide. It's only searching, and replacing. That's it.

The only thing you need a guide for this, is if you're inserting them via SSBBarc.

I think he meant a guide on how to edit the actual pictures.

i said that before openin the program. after lookin at it n messin with it, it all looks pretty easy and common sense. havent tried replacin the SSPs yet. but i kno if i need help Shadow will help me and not yell at me instead [/sarcasm]

k, first off. You'll need a certain "frame" that goes around the small ones. Create one out of the original small ones. You'll need it... If you want to be a perfectionist, that is.

Here's the file location.

Common5 > 004.BIN > 008.BRRES

Create a new 64x56 picture. Copy, and paste your snapshot of a stage in it. Ctrl+T (If using photoshop), grab a corner, hold shift to contrain proportions, and close in on the picture it get as much of the stage as you want. Once you're done, index, and save. Here's an extra step, copy, and paste the frame onto your saved small SSP, then index. Be sure to erase the corners, after that, index and save. Any amount of colors are good. Replace the SSP you want to replace.

Now for the big ones.

Create a new 176x176 image. Paste your snapshot of your stage in it. Ctrl+T (In photoshop), grab a corner, hold shift, and make it smaller until you have as much as you want too get in the 176x176 image. Save, no index required. Replace afterwards.

Kind of dumb seeing as you can only use 1 stage texture per stage.

Alright replacing the stage's small portrait is easy as [censored] lol now with the stage's big portraits im kind of lost. small portraits all u do is right click export the image, edit it, then replace it. very easy steps. now with big portraits there nothin to right click and export etc. how do i go on with doin this? (using brawlscape by the way)

Don't use BrawlScape.

The reason it's crashing is because BrawlScape is corrupting your replaced images.

so u recommend that i use brawlbox?
