Title: Brawlbox Compression issue (solved) Post by: Xerom on March 22, 2012, 09:40:35 PM I've recently come into a problem with my brawlbox. After editing anything (common5,mu_munemanin) and hitting the save button, the compression makes the size of the file larger than it is supposed to be, freezing my game. This only started to happen recently. I've made sure the compression is set to LZ77 but after the compression occurs and I reload the file, the compression is set to none and the filesize jups from 4.XXXX to 10.XXXX. I redownloaded brawlbox and the issue still occurs, yet when I tried compressing it on a desktop, the filesize stayed the appropriate size.
Anything wrong here, or is it just my laptop screwing up the compression? Post Merge: March 23, 2012, 07:33:47 PM Alright, so let me elaborate. It turns out that only editing my mu_menumain causes a broken compression, editing the common5 and adding the tile pillar css worked fine with no issues. Whenever I try to replace the menu background or edit my miscdata7 so the names of my songs are correct, the compression doubles the size for no apparent reason, even If I didn't change anything. I've tried editing it on both my laptop and on a separate desktop, and the problem still occurs, so there must something else causing it to double the size. Any insight? I hope this gets resolved soon. :v

use an older version of BB for now, or wait till BB 66 comes out, which will be able to use those files. Yeah, I tried v64 and I had no issues so I figured that it just might be the newer BB. Thanks though. |
