Title: How to set up RiiFS
Post by: Sky Grounder on April 05, 2012, 04:31:35 PM
A RiiFS server is a Riivolution server that can host hacks on your computer and transfer them to your wii over the internet/network.
It's useful for Riivo users who want to test their hacks without touching their SD card.

What you need:

There're two ways to set this up:

Method 1 (WLAN) lets you host hacks over the network, and it's easier (and faster) to set up the server, but you can only host hacks on that network (SD/USB is not required).

Method 2 (WiFi) lets you host hacks over the internet, which is useful if your Wii isn't connected to the same network as your computer, or if you want to host hacks on multiple Wiis. (SD/USB is required).

Just a heads up... I don't know who's IP that is, but I don't think you'll want to post it on the internet. XD

I'd recommend maybe making up an example or something along those lines.

When the game has loaded, the files get "patched into the game", so no, you can't add files while the game is running. But you can replace/edit a file while the game's running, making it great for testing purposes.

I allready use it on my PC and you dont need a Riifs.xml as long as its your private network. I dont use any SD Card or USB Stick and it still connects to my Riifs PC server.

Didn't know it was possible, I tested it and it worked! Changed OP and added a second (simpler, easier and faster) method. Thanks :)
