Title: Using One-Slot Size Mods Post by: Phase 3 on May 08, 2012, 06:11:36 PM I've been installing quite a few mods, but one thing has left me a little confused. Hopefully someone here can help me out.
So I have a few mods that utilize size mods (Bowser Jr, the new Arthur, etc.) It says they come with one-slot size mods. To my understanding, this means only one color of a character is resized, right? If that's the case, do the included FitMotions (or in Bowser's case, the common4) resize the number of the included .pac and .pcs? So for example, if the mod for Bowser Jr. gave me FitKoopa05, would the size mod included specifically be for the 05 color? Or are their more involved installation methods for one-slot size mods? Also, if what I said is indeed the case, is there any way to switch that? So, if Arthur has a lance version and axe version, and has FitLink00 and FitLink01, this would mean that two slots were replaced, right? Is there a way, if I only wanted to keep the lance version, could remove a size mod in the FitMotion file and only have one of the slots size-modded? I just haven't had much luck getting these size mods to work, so if anyone who really understands them well can shed some light on installing them and working with them, that'd be awesome. Yes.I'll explain: The Motion only alters the Texture it came with. So if you downloaded Arthur, if you add his Motion to the SD, his textures will be size modded, but Link's will be untouched. Title: Re: Using One-Slot Size Mods Post by: Phase 3 on May 08, 2012, 06:56:46 PM Yes. I'll explain: The Motion only alters the Texture it came with. So if you downloaded Arthur, if you add his Motion to the SD, his textures will be size modded, but Link's will be untouched. By "the motion only alters the texture it came with" do you mean... A) It resizes the numbers it comes with (So in Arthur's case, FitLink00 and FitLink01 are the ones it comes with, and it will resize those two costume spots no matter what is placed there). B) No matter where I place Arthur, whether it be 01, 05, whatever, only he will be size modded? So all I have to do is toss the fitmotion into the Link folder and nobody but Arthur will be resized, regardless of where which costume spot he takes? If A, is there any way I can change the size mod so it doesn't resize 00? This is what I want to do: The mod comes with FitLink00 (Lance) and FitLink01 (Axe). I'm going to ditch the Axe and make FitLink00 into FitLink01 (so to keep default Link but use Lance Arthur). I don't want the size mod it comes with to resize both the 00 and 01 spots if I'm only using one of them. So if it's A), and the Motion is made to resize the spots the Fit files come with, can I remove the size mod for the default spot somehow? If B... well, then life is easier. Also, on a side note, Bowser comes with a common4 instead of a FitMotion. The readme says something like: Bowser is dumb and dosnt have a MotionEtc, he just has a Motion. His motion file is in the common4. so make a folder next to your fighter folder, name it "system" and place the common4 file in there. In the section where I see fighters, there's already a system folder with some common(#) files in there. Even though it says make a folder, should I just put the common4 in there? I've done it before and the size mod didn't work for Bowser. I'm not sure what I did wrong. Sorry once again if this is all really obvious stuff that I'm just missing. Thank you so much for your help though. Title: Re: Using One-Slot Size Mods Post by: Albafika on May 08, 2012, 07:08:52 PM ... Not the number, it resizes the file it came with.
So, what you're saying is, and forgive me if I'm being redundant, I just don't want to mess this up... Exactly. No matter where I place Arthur, whether it be 01, 05, whatever, only he will be size modded? So all I have to do is toss the fitmotion into the Link folder and nobody but Arthur will be resized, regardless of where which costume spot he takes? I've done it before and the size mod didn't work for Bowser. I'm not sure what I did wrong. Yes. Put the common4.pac inside the "system" folder.Sorry once again if this is all really obvious stuff that I'm just missing.
