Title: New to hacking SSBB!
Post by: yellowpikapika on June 14, 2012, 05:15:29 PM
Can anyone help me out with like the steps I have to take to put hacks into my game? I am using it off a USB drive and not an actual CD, so it is quite difficult to find a guide that can help

In that case the only way I know of is to replace stuff in your ISO then play it via something like wiiflow or something. I don't know tho & if there was a way to use a usb for riivo I'd do that in less than 5 secs.

I'm not sure about the USB method, it took me forever to hack my wii for the first time, I was up til the AM and putting in brawl hacks was a different story. If you need help with -making- hacks then let me know. I'm a noob too so you can hit me up if you want. I have a hack team currently and I'm in the begining steps of making my first hack.

Yes, Riivo does work with usb drives. It loads things a little slower, but still works. But that's using an actual Brawl disc, so I'm not sure...

Well, assuming that you have a brawl disc that's already set up to start using hacks, and that the filing of your hacks are placed correctly, using a usb is no different than using an SD. The only difference I've noticed is play/loading speed. But if you don't have a lot of hacks it won't be much of a problem.

But, with no brawl disc You'd have to use an emulator or something. I don't know how Dolphin works, but I see a lot of people use it. I don't think there's much you can do w/o a disc. Maybe ask someone with more experience if there's another way to do it.

So I just move everything to my USB? If so can I use a 4gb USB?

Well, yeah. I sometimes use an 8 gig usb. But again↓

Things you'll need:

1) BRAWL DISC
2) RIIVOLUTION
3) ur USB READY TO GO WITH ALL FILES IN THE RIGHT PLACE/NAMED CORRECTLY

I would recommend using ShadowSnake's Riivo loader. I use it, and it's simple to set up. :)

I use Beyond's Riivo for Gecko. What's ShadowSnake's like?

YELLOW = ???
On the root of your SD/USB, there's a folder called "Brawlmods." Then, there's like 9 or 10 folders for different hack sets. (BrawlMinus, BrawlPlus, Custom01, etc) along with "Music" (for brstms) and"Movies" (for THP movies).
and after clicking one of the hack sets, the file set-up is pretty much the same as for gecko. (Fighter, Menu, Menu2, Module, Info, Info2, System, Toy, etc.) If you have any questions, go here:
