Title: Riivolution help
Post by: cl4yn4tion on July 31, 2012, 05:42:03 PM
(Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong area, new to the forum)

I began the transition from Gecko to Riivolution today in order to add sfx to some of the custom characters (primarily Sephiroth, Goku and Zero), but I've been running into some problems and I'm hope someone can help me. My problems are as follows:

1)None of my codes seem to be working, especially for custom characters and stages. All of the textures show up and any character who has a new move set works fine, but characters who have .rel files(like marth over yoshi for sephiroth) freeze the game when performing certain moves. (Also all other hacks seem to be working, like strap menu and cps)

2) I have the SD card set up correctly, and all of the required XML files are in the right places, but when I activate ocarina in Riivolution I get a black screen. When I don't activate it everything loads normally, but then I return to my problems in number 1.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

The Reason for the problems at number one are, I think, because you don't have the ocarina turned on, because, no ocarina = no codes.

Search for a faulty code in your code file, or make a new one. Maybe you have codes which interfere which each other, and that's why it freezes.

I was able to get around the problem by using BeyondYours' XML and everthing works fine except my custom stages. I know all the codes work fine because when I switch back to Gecko there are no problems, but I have to be doing something wrong so I'll keep trying. Thanks for the help.

The reason of for why codes didn't work with the first xml is probably because the code patch wasn't correct.
Send me both xmls, and I'll try to fuse them (only taking Beyond's xml code patches and putting it in the first one).
