Title: 3ds Max crashes whenever I try to export a Model as a .DAE
Post by: Pik on August 25, 2012, 09:51:50 AM
It doesn't even freeze or anything. After I click "Save" it just gives me the typical error message and crashes.

"An error has occured and the application will now close. Do you want to save a copy of the current scene?"

After that I usually click no, now that I have five [censored]in "_recovers" at the end of the file name. I'm using 3ds Max 9, by the way. Help and advice appreciated, thanks.

Try Run as administrator, sounds stupid but it works, i had the same problem in 2010 but when i run as admin it works fine :P

Thanks for the fast reply, but I already run 3ds Max as administrator regularly.

I occasionally get this error as well. Not sure why, unfortunately.

I could try exporting it for you if you'd like, though I'm sure you'd prefer a permanent fix of some sort.

Alrighty, since I'm not sure what went wrong with it- usually, I can export .DAEs with ease... Just not this time.

The rigging isn't done, btw. I was exporting it as a test. Should I still give you the model?

Yeah, if you want.
