Maybe try getting a new Brawl XML, or try one hack alone. Then keep adding one more hack until you find the one that freezes it.

In your Riivolution folder, make sure the only XML there is modlauncher.XML, then have the RSBE.xml in the :root/riivolution/config folder. (i think it's config). If you have riivo XML's for more than one game at the same time it'll freeze.
