Title: Benefits of ISO
Post by: KimashiZ812 on January 15, 2010, 05:35:18 PM
Okay, I've been wondering if there is a significant difference between using the SD loader method, or burning the ISO to a disk. What I mean is I know that SD loader has a limit to what files can be loaded, as the ISO method does not, but what other hackable files can not be loaded through SD, but only with the ISO method. Sorry, I'm not good at explaining things :P

Everything in Partition 2 on the .iso can be loaded on the SD Loader.

The SD Loader has many flaws (Especially with music, it's known for switching to another song at random/creating static sounds). In the .iso, it's a simple replace, and you don't have to rename what you want to replace.

Burning an .iso can load all of the portraits you have in your common5_en.pac, and not crash at the character select screen.

That's all I can think of. I'm pretty sure there's more.

Iso hacking for stability, SD loading for portability and convenience.
