I love how you combine 2 stages from different franchises into one :D
I suggest a stage that's cross between Metroid and Star Fox.
awesome stages

Looking great! Not a big fan of kid Icarus. But I love the stage.
I really liked the Skies of Lore stage.
Too bad, didn't download it.
Thanks for the comments.
Update for Milky Way Meadows. This stage is lot more work, mostly trying to figure out how I want to design it. Not to mention there'll need to be a lot more texture work for this one to better mix the Kirby and Pikmin feel together. The setup for this stage is basically a very vertical stage with platforms lining the tree trunk.
Looks great! :D
cool stuff
A bit of a rocky start, but now the stage is coming together much quicker.
Holy crap, that's looking awesome! :srs:

Dem tree normals
fix 'em and give the tree a sexy texture.
I dunno much about normals, but I might've fixed the tree? I flipped it upside down originally since the bottom of the tree doesn't have a real bottom. I flipped it right-side up again and stuffed. Also finished the stage's design, now begins the importing.
Looking better.
If you want to fix the normals, you could do it easily by using the MeshSmooth modifier.

and i was right....it is awesome :srs:
Awesome stages! I remember I had your skyworld stage with that wall!
btw, did anyone offer to attend to these:
"Problems:
Platform clouds don't animate or look right at all
Water in the fountain appears completely white
Maybe some transparency with the background clouds
(If someone feels like fixing these things, then go right ahead. Just as long as I'm credited in collaboration for making the stage itself, of course.)"
Oh yeah, Skyworld Shrine. I still have it up on my BrawlVault. And no, nobody's offered. I would've tried fixing the problems myself but I'm still an amateur at this stuff. (Although stages are much easier than characters.)
Good news so far, that stage works in Brawl so far, though I was concerned about the size so I put it over FD. The Return to Dreamland parts, which I used for the platforms, have a high poly count even after optimizing them.
I also still want to add some more to the background so it's... yeah know, more reflective of the stage's name. Probably throw in some Kirby-esque clouds from Green Greens and have some Onions fly around, make it night-time as well.
Here it is so far, background still needs some work. I had to discard all of the material work I did because for some reason it lagged the game and didn't load the stage properly. Might've been from the RtDL parts, but I didn't test to see. But it's fine, I can just redo the material stuff easy.
looking good bud
Damn sexy bro.
awesome, im sure your planning on fixing dem leaves
The stage is pretty much done now. But I'm not quite sure if I should release it yet. Something seems... missing... Not enough, Pikmin elements in the stage, maybe. Because of how Brawl colors Onions and Pikmin, I can't add them to the background or anything.
It could use darker or less fog.
Well, the stage was done. But the background pissed me off enough to the point that I'm completely redoing it. So... yeah, more waiting.
It's coming along nicely though! Are there animations?
Nope.
And the new background doesn't want to work, so I'm literally just stretching the original wider so it's harder to see the borders in widescreen. I may eventually come back to the stage, but it's pissed me off more than enough. I'm releasing it as soon as I make the tour video, granted it doesn't [censored] with me even more.
EDIT: There, done, moving along to the next stage. :srs:
seems that stage was a pain to make, i doubt i'll even notice whats wrong with it...

I'd put a up a poll by now of what stage you guys wanna see next, but I really have no idea how to add polls here...
Scroll all the way down. And you will see a red line that says "Quick Reply". On top of that you will see an "add poll" option.
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
Welp, that option isn't there for me BUT ANYWAY, I finally decided to get back to stages.
All the stages I'll be making for a while will all be for my machinima 'Next Smash'. And what better way to start the marathon than a new Battlefield?
Admittedly, it's not much done yet. But I have the design, er, background design planned out. It's going to be somewhat stadium like, though not just another Pokemon Stadium rehash.
sweet lookin stage man, cant wait for the finished product
also epic avvy
Woo, actual things to show!
The new Battlefield will start off up in that tunnel and slowly descend out into the more open area below. The stage borders or collisions won't be any different, it's just for aesthetics. You'd be surprised what you can make by flipping a model upside down!
I love your stages, I just wish they u weren't so damn big. =c
And I'm too lazy to edit the camera and collisions to my personal liking. =c v2

They're fun for whacking people around though, and the extra size makes the KO'ing process longer, and thus sometimes more dramatic. :D
Well those two stages were meant to be huge, they weren't made for regular brawls. I may make 'playable' versions eventually.
But I will be making regular stages for a while. I may even revamp my old Skyworld Shrine stage, which sounds like a good idea.
Ta-da, progress

:srs:
thats a large croud to see mario and luigi fight.....i bet they can barely see whats going on...
anyway, looks epic, mabye there could be a night version?
That stadium looks as big as Cowboy Stadium or the Louisiana Super Dome. o.O
Here's another angle
(http://i46.tinypic.com/slnvhf.jpg)
The idea I had in mind for this stage is that it's a kind of a midair arena attached to some airship. The main stage itself will slowly descend down that tunnel there until it reaches the position in the first pic. I may end up downsizing the tunnel, since it is kind of big.
I've (hopefully) worked out the transparency stuff, next would be the lighting which will be in fact at night.
Okay, now that I finally found the poll option and Battlefield is almost done, I put up a poll for the next stage.
In other words, VOOOOOOOTE! :yay:
Voted Mario stage :D

I also voted Kirby... Obviously, I have a bit of bias for the series. But it also lacks stages anyway.
metroid+star fox stage
Zelda and Kirby are pretty close. I already have an idea for a Kirby stage, not so much with Zelda since I really don't want to be generic and make a Skyloft stage.
As for Next Battlefield, I should hopefully have it released this week. It's done, just need to get the right lighting.
EDIT: Welp, got it, just need some tweaks and a video before release time.
So I just saw Next Battlefield on the OP....if you think about, it looks dead without a crowd actually cheering.
Good news, everyone!
Stage is finished, uploading a video before I post it up on BrawlVault. Kirby stage won the poll so my next stage will be Cookie Country from Return to Dreamland. Now there's a new poll, choose the stage you want to see after the next one is done.
EDIT: Done and up, the video will be added to the first post soon, but you guys can get the stage now.
I would of voted Zelda stage, but I just had to vote Palutena's temple. KI needs more love and I enjoyed Uprising a lot.
Post Merge: February 07, 2013, 01:42:21 AM
I just played on the new Battlefield and it's great! I like the cloud effect you put. The Boss Battles Mode theme even goes well with it just like in the video. :) Though the stage does seem a bit too dark to me.
Also, do you plan to make a FD in your image?
Okay, I have some good news.
Your new Battlefield hack? The Wifi safe version is indeed safe. I just tested it on Basic Brawl (yeah, THAT mode). And the matches all played out fine. No random suicides or anything. So yeah, unless there's an obscure condition to desync, it's Wifi safe.
So yeah. When I get bored of the Castlevania Battlefield I have right now, I'll know which one to use next.
You should consider doing more Wifi safe stuff too in the future. There's not enough REALLY distinct Wifi safe hacks. Mostly just background swaps in the vault... Which, while they look alright. Aren't too distinct... This on the other hand looks like NO other stage in the vault.
The lighting is VERY unique. I've NEVER seen lighting like it in a Brawl stage. The concept is also pretty original. SIMILAR to something you'd see in SSE. But... Very different at the same time...
Edit: I just noticed something... The video's lighting seems quite a bit brighter then it is in game... This is NOT a bad thing though, it gives this arena a very sinister, and foreboding atmosphere. Which is... Pretty distinct.
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
I wouldn't say it's a unique lighting since I edited it a bit from Frigate Orpheon. :af: I figured a dark lit Battlefield would be fine since that's how it was in 64 and Melee. Regardless, glad you guys like it.
The poll's pretty close so far, though it'll still be yet a while since I've only gotten the stage layout for Cookie Country done. (Would have had more but the snowstorm said '[censored] THAT'!)

Ah... So that's why I was reminded of Metroid Prime when I paused... It reminded me of a different level though... Not sure which one though.
Either way though, even if it is a minor edit of another lighting. It still seems very distinct.

Damn you Nemo!!!
...
*Ahem* Anyway. That stage should be interesting. Kirby's stages in Brawl are... Well, the Halberd is actually a bit dark (not as much as some other areas in Kirby *coughmostfinallevels/finalbossarenascough*, but still.) It's honestly more of Meta Knight's stage. Kirby and Dedede... Kinda don't have a stage... Brawl needs a more cheery Kirby stage... That's NOT a direct rip from Melee. This should be a good one. Sorta the Green Greens of RtDl.
I look forward to it.
Ugh, even after it's gone that [censored] storm managed to screw me over. The power just happened to go out again right after I saved my progress and therefore corrupted the file and ruined the stage in Max.
So I'm behind again, but thankfully Return to Dreamland stages are build-it-yourself and come with all the level pieces as a single model brres. It won't take too long to get back to where I was before... again...
Alright, here's what I got so far on the stage, included Green Greens to act as a size comparison of it so far.
That part in the middle there, I'm planning on the front of it to turn invisible when characters walk through there. But if it doesn't work then oh well, that sucks.

u mean like luigi's mansion?
Yeah, pretty much just like that. I have an idea on how it works, but actually making it work is another thing.
Also dayum, the poll is pretty friggin' close!
are u gonna make more crossover stages in a near future?
Mind if I ask what Skyline Cruise is?
@joking: Yeah, I will when I need them for my machinima.
@Zelia: Well, I though just making a Skyloft stage would be generic and boring, so I thought of making a stage that encompassed the whole sky area instead. It'll be kind of like Delfino, I guess.

I see. So a platform will visit small islands and stuff? or just Skyloft in general?
I personally would find a stationary Skyloft lovely since we still don't have one just imported. There's kind of already one that's just a chunk of Temple that floats around the island but never stops on it itself.
Daymn, major shift in the poll. Sorry, no update today. I've been heavily distracted with Minecraft, I'll get some more done soon.

Well, I could possibly make a regular Skyloft as well if Zelda wins the poll.

Welp, after a... couple month hiatus here, I'm back with some good news. Cookie Country is back in business. I've had some real life stuff interfere with me putting in an substantial work on any hacks, but now I'm trying to get back into it again.
Here's the current standing point of the shiny new Kirby stage:
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
The stage layout is 90-ish% done, so it won't be long at all before I can start implementing it into Brawl. And according to the long-running poll...
...Kid Icarus will be the next to get a new stage! Palutena's Temple based on a specific chapter in KI: Uprising.
I've always wanted to do a Kirby based stage off of KRtDL, but all the pieces and the thought of lining them up just made me loose interest. Nice to see that someone picked it up. The stage's layout is also pretty unique. Keep up the good progress, Angelglory.
- Forte
Here I am again, this time with in-game previews.
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
Buuut as you may notice from the screens, the stage doesn't want to proportion correctly for some reason even though it shows up fine in BrawlBox.
I also reset the poll and added two new stage options to vote upon.
Good news everyone! Cookie Country is almost done, just need transparencies and the background and we're all good for release.
But seeing the reveal of Smash 4, I want to take on one of those new stages next. I've updated the poll, so vote away (again).
Stadium. There's no boxing ring stages on the vault yet, and it could count as a Punch Out stage.
*kicks thread*
Hey everybody, have a preview of Cookie Country
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbtxshgjIQo#ws (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbtxshgjIQo#ws)
It's nearly done, so hopefully no more unfortunate delays.
This is great man!! Finally a new interest in Kirby stages. The quality looks great and the gameplay layout looks solid. I'm impressed you made it from scratch. Good job man ;D
will you consider animating the sky? since it's animated in the kirby game.

Oh yeah, of course. The background in the video (Green Greens) is just a placeholder until the real background is done.
Hm... Pretty nice progress on this stage.
Though there's one thing bothering me about it... Those walls. You can be a cheap jerk with walls in Brawl. Like infinites with Dedede's chain grab, Ike's forward throw over and over... Heck, even ROB's down tilt can infinite people against walls with good timing...
Otherwise though, it looks pretty nice.
I like the walls. It makes the stage more terraineous vs flat. flat is boring, so walls are sweet
:notimp:
So, about them unfortunate delays...
The real background seems to absolutely refuse to import properly into BB. I've even remade it several times and used a number fresh models but for nothing. I guess have [censored] luck with any stage Kirby related.
To avoid any further frustration, I'm going to set this cursed stage aside and release a version with the Green Greens background instead.
I've already decided that I want to make a Donkey Kong stage next, so yaaay...

How exactly is it not importing properly in bb? Is it smaller than expected?
It gets an error every time once the importing gets to the actual polygons. I could never make sense of what any of the errors in BB mean, so I don't exactly know what's wrong.
I've had that error. If you're using the latest bb, try using bb v0.67b to import it. You could then export the model, then import the .mdl0 into your stage.
OMG, it's a miracle!
Now I just need to work out the kinks with lighting and transparencies and this bastard of a stage can get off my back.
Looking pretty sick so far, I can't wait to see how the final project turns out.
Its...its so BEAUTIFUL :af2:
Argh, finally! Cookie Country is finished and released. I tried changing the lighting, but nothing worked out, so I decided to end the headache and release with the lighting I was already using. You can see the finished stage here, DL is in the OP

Hey guys, back again with a new peek at the Nintendogs stages.
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
The stage is technically playable since I finished the collisions. I just need to finish all the visual stuff and then animate the dog.
I don't have anything new to show on Gangplank Galleon unfortunately.
As for the poll, it looks like Earthbound is in the lead still with Kid Icarus close behind and then Star Fox in third... So, to possibly spur up some more votes, I've got a list of potential stages I could create.
Earthbound: I have only played Mother 3, so if this series ends up winning, the stage I make would most likely be from Mother 3.
Prime Candidate: Tazmily VillageKid Icarus: I thought about making the Smash 4 stage, but since we haven't seen a clear view of the entire thing, I decided not to. But there's plenty of other possible places to make a stage out of.
Prime Candidate: ?Star Fox: This is a tricky one since the series is all about space and stuff. But there are some locations that stand out.
Prime Candidate: ?Pokemon: Making another Stadium stage with four of the types Smash doesn't have yet: Normal/Ghost/Poison/Steel/Psychic/Bug/Fighting/Dragon/Dark/Fairy
Prime Candidate: Pokemon Stadium 'Alpha'Fire Emblem: I don't have that much experience with the series, but can think of a couple ideas to work with.
Prime Candidate: War-Torn CityOther:Ice Climbers stage: I did come up with a concept for a new stage
3DS stage: Saw the request for a 3DS stage in the request section and I got an idea for one.
For Kid Icarus the only idea I could come up with is the Rail Temple from Multiplayer.
You know what would make an awesome Mother 3 stage?
Club Titiboo (by the stage, of course).
You could have the band members playing in the back while you fight.
Well, there's already a Club Titiboo stage on the Vault by ForOhForError, although there's no characters in background or anything. I'll consider making my own version, though I don't want to step on anyone else's toes when it comes to repping a series that doesn't have many stage hacks.
