Title: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Wulfbang Meow on February 10, 2010, 09:32:58 PM i tried... but i just cant get this stage to be a nice working stage....
http://www.mediafire.com/?wzm34twkmzz <<<*REVISED LINK* its midgar as the title says, it was done on new pork city, of course everyone hates that level... i deleted all of the polygons for the platforms and the collision data has been changed i wanted this to be just a simple level that ran the length of the city, however i cant generate a model for the floor of the collision i made, i thought it would be an awesome idea just to use the front of the city, but everytime i bump it up in brawlbox it reverts back ingame... so if anyone has any ideas the pac is there in the link, give it a test run and post your results.... (http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/uu117/CR4CK3RWLF/Brawl%20Texture%20Hacks/al_100211_1443binout.jpg) ^ the stage looks great, however it still needs some minor tweaking as far as textures go. (http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/uu117/CR4CK3RWLF/Brawl%20Texture%20Hacks/al_100211_14431binout.jpg) i thought putting the shinra logo there was a nice touch :) (http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/uu117/CR4CK3RWLF/Brawl%20Texture%20Hacks/al_100211_1444binout.jpg) but alas the stage is inperfect... players hover where their should be a platform... (http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/uu117/CR4CK3RWLF/Brawl%20Texture%20Hacks/al_100211_14441binout.jpg) i figure having them play across here would be a great idea :D (http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/uu117/CR4CK3RWLF/Brawl%20Texture%20Hacks/Untitled-1.jpg) here is the collision data in brawlbox, the players are in the correct position on stage for X and Y planes... (http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/uu117/CR4CK3RWLF/Brawl%20Texture%20Hacks/Untitled-2.jpg) but only in brawlbox is the Z plane where i want it, right across the platform model on the middle of the stage.... however as shown in picture 3, the stage snaps right back to default when placed in game... when i try to save the file in brawlbox after these changes, it compresses twice for some reason... then im asked if i want to save my changes when i close brawlbox... despite the fact that i already have... any opinions? Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: joem3693 on February 11, 2010, 04:38:54 PM nice stage i downloaded it
Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Wulfbang Meow on February 14, 2010, 04:35:32 PM sure you can download it, but its not ready yet, which i still need help with btw
Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Wulfbang Meow on February 21, 2010, 12:41:29 AM yeesh... should i just mark this as dead? i would really like to finish this :(
Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Jack H. on February 23, 2010, 10:46:21 PM What version of brawlbox are you using?
Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Gazoinks on February 24, 2010, 07:25:36 AM This looks very cool. I know next to nothing about collision editing, but good luck!
Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Mr.Weegee on February 24, 2010, 05:28:13 PM Looks good!
And I DO know about collision editing, so here's the rundown: In the animation (the stage should have one, otherwise give it one), on the 1st frame, make sure its offsets and scales are the same as in its non-animation state. And make sure that the stage doesn't move in its animation (unless you want it to). Then it should work! Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Wulfbang Meow on February 28, 2010, 08:57:15 PM sorry for not getting back to you guys sooner, i spent all week playing Majora's Mask :D
great memories, and some painful ones too :X @Jack H. the one i used for this is 0.63b, the latest if im not mistaken. @Gazoinks, this stage is very much WIP. i hope to finish it soon, be on the lookout for it! @Mr.Weegee, i did what you said and still no luck, however it has stopped it from compressing twice and no longer asks me to save it after i have already saved. it works all well in brawl box, but in-game it still wont work... also a code to get rid of the chimera will be much appreciated :D chimera is spawning in midair, the breakable platform is still there as well as the viking ship thingy, im sure i can get rid of those with the model deleter though... thanks for the interest guys :D Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Mr.Weegee on March 01, 2010, 05:04:39 PM You can do it over FD (because FD usually works), and port it over to New Pork City using the .rel technique.
Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Wulfbang Meow on March 01, 2010, 10:38:15 PM @Mr.Weegee, can i get a tutorial on that, cause i BARELY know what your talking about...
anyone who gets me the code for getting rid of the pink chimera in the stage will get some coffee! Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: felixsrg on March 18, 2010, 06:59:31 PM Hi, is this still being worked on? I would really like to have a New pork city without the platforms or the chimera, plus that midgar stage looks great, hope this get finished.
Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Mr.Weegee on March 18, 2010, 07:21:37 PM Oops, forgot to do that.
I'll have it done soon--I hope. Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Wulfbang Meow on March 18, 2010, 08:33:34 PM @Mr.Weegee, What, finishing my stage or the code? im not sure how to use .rel files so if you could point me in the right direction that would be very helpful.
and if your working on some kind of code, i will definately give you credit XD @Felixsrg, me too, i hope i can finally finish this stage someday, and until i can get some kind of resolution to my problem, this project is on hold. so far its not perfectly to my liking, mainly because most of the elements havent been removed and the textures arent perfected, so i will have some work after this is done initially. hopefully this will spark some intrest in the project again.. Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Mr.Weegee on March 18, 2010, 09:16:56 PM I was gonna do it myself since felixrg sent me a version.
If you want to do it, then here is the .rel guide: http://ssbbcustom.wikia.com/wiki/Module_files (http://ssbbcustom.wikia.com/wiki/Module_files) Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Wulfbang Meow on March 19, 2010, 09:09:17 PM looks complicated.... but i could try to manage...
im not in a position to do it now though.. Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Mr.Weegee on March 19, 2010, 09:22:49 PM I just got it done. I just need to shift the stage a little up...and that's about it.
I'll try to get pics in soon. Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Wulfbang Meow on March 20, 2010, 09:46:22 AM YAY :D THANK U!!!
if you want, and im sure you do, i will take care of the rest. I.E. textures, polygons, simple stuff... btw while i still have the attention of someone knowlegable, wow do you give a stage a weather effect? like ive heard of someone taking the snow from the metal gear stage and using it on the fire emblem one.. how do you do that? is it all a matter of exporting that part of the stage data and importing? is there a tutorial? anyway i very much appreciate this :D youve made me a happy man! Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Mr.Weegee on March 20, 2010, 01:14:44 PM Alright, here it is! And I shrank it to make it a more viable stage.
http://www.mediafire.com/?q0ntnzznzz4 (http://www.mediafire.com/?q0ntnzznzz4) http://www.mediafire.com/?nqkmyqtudju (http://www.mediafire.com/?nqkmyqtudju) Remember, st_newpork.rel goes in pf/module. And to apply your textures, just export TextureData[0] from your current stage and replace my stage's TextureData[0] with it. Title: Re: Help with Midgar Stage hack Post by: Wulfbang Meow on March 20, 2010, 10:37:50 PM thanks for this, it brings tears to my eyes to see this finally working ^_^
now i gotta perfect the textures, start on getting rid of that melee stage Onnet, then i can fully replace the EARTHBOUND graphics for the SSS. (btw can we do this? is it like replacing textures or is it more difficult...) then im getting rid of ike for cloud, marth for sephiroth, then i can be done with the fire emblem series! Finally i can have Final fantasy in my brawl completely XD i must thank mr.weegee, for without his help this would not be possible :D id also like to thank my family, all those who voted for me to get such a prestigious award etc. etc. i will report any bugs if i see em, i saw something wrong, but i think its in the texture department, meaning it was my fault XD |
