Title: Hacking Brawl on Wii U Post by: NeverendingTwilight on March 11, 2013, 03:23:07 AM So, I managed to get the Homebrew channel onto the Wii U and I have all my Homebrew apps that I had on the Wii, but for some reason, Riivolution doesn't work for me. It tells me that I need to downgrade the IOS in order to use it. And I cannot downgrade the IOS, so I'm wondering... is there anything else I could possibly use that allows me to use texture hacks, music hacks, and stage hacks on Brawl while playing on the Wii U? Or should I just wait for a Wii U compatible version of Riivolution to be available?

but you can still have sound hacks if on wii U usb loader+edited SSBB iso(only replace the brsar file) and gecko OS file patch code(if the usb loader support gecko OS codes/files) Title: Re: Hacking Brawl on Wii U Post by: SonicBrawler on March 11, 2013, 10:29:20 AM Riivo does not work because you have to downgrade a certain IOS, and that IOS doesnt exist on the Wi U
I think Title: Re: Hacking Brawl on Wii U Post by: mnsg on March 11, 2013, 11:48:13 AM I may have a Wii U, but I pretty much keep all my Wii data on my Wii system, especially since the transfer from Wii to Wii U is irreversible.
Anyway, my only answer is to resort to custom ISOs and USB Loader applications for your sound hacks. Title: Re: Hacking Brawl on Wii U Post by: NeverendingTwilight on March 12, 2013, 02:13:47 AM Well, I was planning to keep most of my data on the Wii and transfer just SOME of it to the Wii U. I wanted to transfer my save for Skyward Sword to the Wii U and just keep my Brawl and others data on my Wii. Of course... I couldn't transfer data from just a single game over to my Wii U. If I wanted to do that, I'd have to transfer EVERYTHING over to it.
And then I went ahead and deleted all my Brawl data, altogether, like an idiot. I couldn't seem to get the Homebrew channel onto the Wii U and I thought that in order to do so, I'd have to start with a clean Brawl slate. Turns out, I was trying to use a 4 GB SD card when I needed to use a 2 GB SD card. Shame I didn't realize that sooner, because I did have a spare 2 GB SD card in my camera. Well, at least I have a code that gives me all the unlockable characters, so I don't have to unlock them once again. I should look for a code that does the same with stages... Anyway, my best bet for getting hacks to work with Brawl on the Wii U will probably be to wait until Riivolution is updated to work with the Wii U... or wait until something even better comes along, because you just know that, that's going to happen, since the Brawl/Wii hacking community is absolutely amazing at what they do. Title: Re: Hacking Brawl on Wii U Post by: libertyernie on March 13, 2013, 05:00:04 PM You should be able to use Gecko OS with the File Patch Code on Wii U. That's what I do (through Smash Stack, but Homebrew Channel should work too.)
