Lensho's Rosalina Model

After Lensho released his Rosalina vertex hack (http://kc-mm.com/?p=2793), I took the time to work on the hack myself.

What I decided to do is use JuLz's Rosalina texture with the vertex edits that Lensho made, and did some recolors, animations, and even CSS modifications.  Below are some snapshots of my first part edits.

Part two involved the use of Jack H.'s Expanded Breasts Peach vertex hack (http://kc-mm.com/?p=2595).  I merged the vertex edits that Jack H. made with the ones that Lensho made, and I got the results shown below.

KAZECoyote's Rosalina Model

After finishing my first set of Rosalina edits, I've been waiting for KAZECoyote to release his Rosalina vertex edits.  Since his edits are now downloadable, I decided to do my own edits on his work, especially since KAZECoyote's Rosalina vertex edits are easily the best of all the Rosalina vertex hacks.

Basically, the edits involve a combination of KAZECoyote's Rosalina model and texture, JuLz's textures, and Lensho's vertex edits.  A lot of the CSS edits used on my first set of Rosalina edits return, but the CSP images are different.  Below are some snapshots of my edits.

I had to do a hefty amount of hex editing so that KAZECoyote's vertex edits are applied to Peach's fake model and emerald model.

Also, as an extra bonus, I did some editing on Peach's emerald texture so that she resembles the Cosmic Witch (http://www.mariowiki.com/images/6/6d/SMG2mariocosmicwitch.jpg), who is from the upcoming game, Super Mario Galaxy 2.  Here are some snapshots of the edits.

I did receive a request from PAVGN to make a sports outfit for Rosalina.  Here are the results of my work.  Basically, I designed Rosalina's sports outfit to resemble what the White Mage wore in Mario Hoops 3-on-3.  Vertex edits were done by KAZECoyote, but I did have to do some hex editing so that the tennis racket is back to its normal state.

I did the same edit but hexed Rosalina's sleeves in. There's a Lulu there that I pieced together and plan on fixing sleeves and giving her Rosalina's bangs.

There is no need for a moveset hack because I already started one :af:

But it comes with my own recolors... It doesn't matter since the only thing you need for the moveset is the motion and the pac :D

I've updated the download containing my Rosalina edits.

Apparently, I never got the message from Lensho that the Final Smash eyes weren't working when I first released my edits.  He must've modified the vertices for the Final Smash eyes or something.  I fixed up the Final Smash eyes so that they work now.

I also added a bunch of files that affect Peach's name during matches.  The name "Peach" can now be replaced with "Rosalina".

I've included those files, just in case anyone is having problems with the PAC files or BRRES files that I've given them.

Here's the story about the files.

Allstar02c.tex0 - Used with STGHEAL.pac; CI8 format texture.
Allstar02c.plt0 - Used with STGHEAL.pac; palette for Allstar02c.tex0.

MenSelchrChrface.013.tex0 - This portrait replaces Peach's portrait for the CSS; MiscData[70] in sc_selcharacter.pac.
MenSelchrChrNmS.013.tex0 - This name appears above Peach's CSS portrait; MiscData[70] in sc_selcharacter.pac.
MenSelchrChrNm.121.tex0 - This name replaces Peach's name for the CSS; MiscData[30] in sc_selcharacter.pac.
MenSelchrChrNmS.121.tex0 - This replaces Peach's name during matches; MiscData[30] in any info.pac file.

WiFi-SD.msbin - This is used for any info.pac file; MiscData[160] in any info.pac file.  Descriptions involving Wi-Fi are replaced with periods, which lowers the amount of memory that the file uses.

You can use those files with BrawlBox, just in case you want to start out fresh with an unedited file.

Regarding your second question, if you're looking for common5.pac, I don't see why you need to, since sc_selcharacter.pac (included in the download) already takes care of the CSPs and custom CSS anyway.

thanks, but does the wifi.msbin affect wifi's playing at all?

It only affects the descriptions that appear when doing Wi-Fi.  Of course, this likely only happens if you modify the descriptions in mu_menumain.pac.

Well, I didn't want Rosalina's arms to be going through her breasts all the time, which is why I moved their positions.

Check every file in your SD card to make sure that each one works.  Also, check your codes and/or which version of Gecko OS that you're using.

Keep in mind though that I wouldn't have released this stuff if it didn't work on my end.  Not too sure if this works with PAL Wiis though, since my Wii is NTSC.

Strange, since I made sure that the modified info.pac files used less memory than the unedited ones.  Of course, I was using an SD card, which might've made the difference.

Just experiment with the info files.  Try to find some way to lower the memory for them even more.  OR, you can always try using an SD card over a USB device.

Good job m&sg. I was hoping someone like Julz would do this with her texture because I love the detail in her Rosalina. Not quite sure if the breast expansion was necessary, but I have yet to see it in game myself (I mean I don't know if screenshots do it justice) Now if there were only a way to incorporate her MK Wii Voice work. Will that ever be possible? I mean in my mind Rosalina with Peach's voice just isn't right.

While running, Rosalina has some lag between steps as if she pauses for a split-second. After removing the motion file, it went back to normal, but I lost the luma.

I never did put much thought into the Character Roll Call screen.  But since you've brought it up, I added some extra images that you can use with the files that aren't in the ZIP file download.

Just thought you might like to know, I tried experimenting with wiiztec's Alternate costume code and it does indeed work quite well if you put all the associated files in the mt folder instead of the pf folder and just holding L before you enter the desired mode of play. Only the limitations of the actual code get in the way. You can't have "Peach" and "Rosalina" together at the same time, you can sill load textures from either set though, however portraits won't match.

In the All Star Mode, you only have to hold L while Highlighting the mode on the Main Menu. That's it (yes it'll load the "Next" portrait from the Rest Area)! But it seems it'll load the Peach texture from the pf set for the CPU fight.

A little OT though, can someone explain to me why you can simply drop brres files on the SD card for portraits, yet with this set as an exception, people DON'T release portraits in this format. Is it just not as simple as renaming the portrait file so it goes in the right slot like you would a texture? I'm just curious.

The _mg files are for certain 1P game modes, such as Multi-Man Brawl and Event Match.  This is because the _mg files contain contents that allow the game to display "Success" and "Failure".

You must use ALL the files inside info2 if you expect Peach's name to be changed for every game mode (except for the Subspace Emissary, in which you use if_adv_mngr.pac for that).
