3DS Max and Blender are listed but I recommend Blender because it's an open source program (aka it's free). The difference between the .dae files don't matter too much, I'm pretty sure the collada exporter is the same for every program. However there's little tutorials about using Blender and I haven't gotten much experience with Blender compared to 3DS Max. Is it easy to use and will I be able to use it for my brawl stage or will I need to convert it? It can export .dae files so no you don't need to convert.
