Title: Smash Bros wifi petition
Post by: Superlucario603 on March 01, 2014, 05:57:10 PM
Sorry if this is already a topic somewhere, but everyone should go to this website: http://www.change.org/petitions/nintendo-keep-the-nintendo-wii-wi-fi-connections-on (http://www.change.org/petitions/nintendo-keep-the-nintendo-wii-wi-fi-connections-on)

Sign up for this petition to keep Nintendo Wifi back on for games other than 3DS and WiiU games, including smash bros. They only need around 900 more, so please do it!! Spread the word!!!

And also please comment if you signed it so we can get a good estimate on how many people are doing this!

Petitions don't even work. You know how the Waluigi petition went. The wifi sucked anyway.

This.

I didn't want to be the first one to say it.

Thanks!

You make it sound as though it's Nintendo's fault.

NEWSFLASH: It's not. Lurk the Nintendo thread more.

Well, this petition is our best chance we got. So, yeah. You might want to post the website to other forums if you want it to work. Then we might have something.

Sadly this is how the game industry gets everyone to move on to the future consoles. The Wii has been out forever in my opinion. Not only that but the amount of people in modding communities, don't have the power to give Nintendo the money to support old console online servers. Microsoft is doing it for the 360 soon, it was already mentioned. Sony will follow as they always do. Just move on in life.

i think he means this one. (http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/masahiro-sakurai-sora-ltd-add-waluigi-to-the-super-smash-bros-3ds-wii-u-roster)

although it would be nice to see him playable (at least imo), its difficult to just get sakurai to add a character willy-nilly.

Custom servers? How would people manage to do that? Sorry I'm kinda nooby at how all that works. And waluigi is a confirmed assist trophy for the next game, although it would've been interesting to see him as a playable character

I already know of a few people who are working on making virtual severs, a programmer named ToadKing (a very reputable programmer in the Wii hacking scene) is setting up a way to capture packets using capture software and the emulator, Dolphin,, via an internet connection to get whatever data is needed to make a virtual server. I would post a link to the site in question (where the thread is located), it's on GBA Temp, but I don't know if I can even post the link to it on here...  He also set up a site specifically letting people know how to help with the project, to save the Wii WiFi.

Yes, no use in petitioning when custom servers are in the making.

>implying petitions for vidya games have worked well in the past

We're moving to the era where games we buy will not be played the same way as they were when purchased.

I can't believe no one saw this coming from a mile away.

When you connect to WiFi on brawl it no longer says Nintendo wfc it just says wfc, just though I would throw that out there

I would gladly appreciate it if, whenever an ad bot shows up, users would report the thing instead of replying to it.

Especially when it involves quoting the post I'm trying to remove from sight for a reason.

I'm sorry I didn't see an ad bot...
