Title: framerate problems with costumes Post by: Armored dragon on April 25, 2014, 03:31:54 PM I download some costumes and they didn't lag at first but eventually started causing some lag. I formated my sd card and it didn't change anything.

Title: Re: framerate problems with costumes Post by: Armored dragon on April 25, 2014, 03:44:47 PM The model isn't too high poly for it that I downloaded. I downloaded the Johnny Bravo thing for ganondorf and it didn't cause lag before and the .pac is only 0.3MB.
Title: Re: framerate problems with costumes Post by: KingJigglypuff on April 25, 2014, 03:47:19 PM Some models are too high poly for Brawl to handle. There's even slight lag when there's 4 Ice Climbers in one match.
Your only ways to reduce the poly count are to Optimize the model, which might ruin the model if not done right or use the Tristripper feature with the newest BrawlBox, this is the easiest and most recommended way to reduce the poly count if it's too high. Though for some models, using the Tristripper alone won't do any good. The max amount of (polygon) faces Brawl can really handle is around 16,000 - 18,000 faces with minimal or no lag. The model isn't too high poly for it that I downloaded. I downloaded the Johnny Bravo thing for ganondorf and it didn't cause lag before and the .pac is only 0.3MB. The size of the FitChar0X.pac/FitChar0X.pcs does not matter.Title: Re: framerate problems with costumes Post by: Armored dragon on April 27, 2014, 11:01:36 AM ok. I think the homer over captain falcon lagged the game too even though the creator told me it wasn't. so I don't know. thanks though.
Post Merge: April 27, 2014, 11:04:16 AM BTW what do you mean by ruining the model? Title: Re: framerate problems with costumes Post by: KingJigglypuff on April 27, 2014, 11:09:15 AM BTW what do you mean by ruining the model? If you Optimize a model too much, polygons will tear apart.Title: Re: framerate problems with costumes Post by: Armored dragon on April 27, 2014, 11:10:33 AM will it mess up my game or just make the model look less high res? or will it pretty much deform the character?

Deform Title: Re: framerate problems with costumes Post by: Armored dragon on April 27, 2014, 11:26:14 AM ok. will it show that in brawlbox or not? so far when I use it it reduces the polygon count by roughly half on every character I use it on.
Post Merge: April 27, 2014, 12:08:02 PM I guess it also depends on how well the model was imported and if there are bone edits. I have the UMvC3 Dante on ike and he doesn't lag the game one bit. vergil and Johnny Bravo can lag the game at times. Title: Re: framerate problems with costumes Post by: Large Leader on April 27, 2014, 12:31:39 PM The deformation (if done in Max) will show in Max and definitely in BBox.
I'm not sure if tristripper in BBox shows the deformations, but my guess is that it will. |
