Title: What HomeBrew Channel program can I use to just load texture hacks?
Post by: RoboS6 on April 05, 2010, 07:34:18 PM
Right now I have Gecko OS 1.07 (which I used to use to just load texture hacks but it isn't working) and Gecko OS 191 which I use PSA's and Brawl + for. Help?

Only Gecko can use PSA + TextureHacks
Best Gecko 1.93

PSA Hacks' name are here an example

FitNess00.pcs <--- This is textureHack
FitNess.pac <---This is PSA Hack

The PSA Hacks doesnt have a number and are pac format ^^
PSA HAcks are in the same folder from the character

What? Riivolution can do PSA's and texture hacks, Gecko isn't the only one.

Yes it can. It can't load codes by default, but someone made an XML to allow you to load codes as well. It can load and replace anything that is on the disk.

Download Riivolution from this page: http://rvlution.net/riiv/Riivolution (http://rvlution.net/riiv/Riivolution)

Then go to this page: http://rvlution.net/riiv/Patch_Templates (http://rvlution.net/riiv/Patch_Templates)

On that page, read the page and ignore things about games other than SSBB. Then download one of the two SSBB XML files. One makes you put all of your files in a folder called ssbb on the root of the SD, the other allows you to use the FPC setup if you don't want to move your files to the ssbb folder. Remember, the XML goes in /riivolution on the root of your SD, not anywhere else. Then just load up Riivolution and change "Disabled" to "Enabled" to enable your texture hacks and it should work.

It will work with hacks made with Brawl Box, as well as PSA's. It loads any file that is on the disk, and hacks done with Brawl Box are files that are on the disk.

What files are you editing, and where do you place them on your SD card? Also, what isn't working? Riivolution or the texture hacks? I have a slight idea as to what the problem may be, I just need to know what file you're editing.

Ah, so I was right about it. You must name the files exactly as they are named on the disc for it to load them, unlike the FPC which ignores certain parts of the name sometimes. I'm not sure about on PAL (which I believe I read in another thread is what you're using), but on NTSC certain files have a _en at the end of them, specifically:

-Anything in the menu2 folder.
-Anything in info2 folder.
-The common files become common_en.pac , common2_en.pac and so on.

Also, Riivolution does not read from pfmenu2, so if you have any files in there because of the glitch discovered with the FPC you will have to move them to menu2 inside the pf folder (this is assuming you are using the FPC XML).

Riivolution is easier to use, it doesn't require codes and it can replace everything on the disk. Gecko+The FPC can't replace everything, you need a codeset file and takes longer to load up. Plus, Riivolution has an Ocarina handler XML that someone created, so you can load codes if you wanted to. Riivolution will soon be more used than Gecko is.

I'm not sure if it's on the Homebrew Browser yet.
