Title: Having trouble with a hack Post by: omega941 on July 14, 2014, 04:13:36 PM Can someone tell me how to get this Blood Falcon hack to work. http://www.mediafire.com/download/kkwbqxth7je5754/BloodFalcon.rar (http://www.mediafire.com/download/kkwbqxth7je5754/BloodFalcon.rar)
I've tried all the files and none of them seem to do anything. do i need a pac cause they don't come with them Title: Re: Having trouble with a hack Post by: DozensofUniqueGeese on July 14, 2014, 05:13:36 PM Let me verify a few things.
1. You have renamed your preferred version to FitCaptain01 2. You are running a launcher such as Gecko or Riivolution with the File Patch Code 3. You are selecting the correct costume in-game. (in this case it would be his Blood Hawk or Red and Purple costume) Some launchers are different and if you are doing all of these I can make the Pac for your preferred texture. P.S. I hope you take no offense in this if you already know these essential things. I am just not sure how new you are to this. Also I will try these out and see if they work for me. Title: Re: Having trouble with a hack Post by: windhunter7 on July 14, 2014, 05:34:07 PM I had this same difficulty starting out when I first did Brawl hacking, then I realized my stupid and obvious mistake: I hadn't renamed the .pac/.pcs to the proper names, and figured Brawl would just add more skins, rather than "replacing" the old ones. So, did you try renaming the one(s) you want to keep "FitCaptain0X", where 'X' is the number you want it to replace?(0 is the normal one, and he made it to replace 1)(Example name: FitCaptain00 replaces the skin when you initially select Captain Falcon.)
Title: Re: Having trouble with a hack Post by: omega941 on July 14, 2014, 07:06:01 PM I made sure the files were properly named to FitCaptain01 but it still didn't work and like i said there is no pac files accompanying the pcs files. so i have no idea whether i need them or not, tho i don't think its necessary for non transforming characters right? i did some snooping first to see if there was another way to do it like renaming it FitCaptain01_en or FitCaptain01us but those didn't help either so i don't know what to do now. all i do know is that the more i think about it the more i want that mod >:<

Title: Re: Having trouble with a hack Post by: raverrebel on July 15, 2014, 04:41:28 AM just another dumb question:
have you placed them in the correct folder? (where?) Title: Re: Having trouble with a hack Post by: omega941 on July 15, 2014, 10:10:18 AM yes i made sure they were in captain under fighter under pf etc;
I have just discovered something. I went and applied the texture to the original color and it worked :srs: however when i tried applying a different texture to the blood falcon color nothing happened so it wasn't texture. Unfortunately now i've gotta find a way to fix the bug in my game. For some reason there is something in the game which is preventing me from modding the red falcon color If anyone has any information about how to do this i would be extremely grateful Post Merge: July 16, 2014, 01:23:04 PM I figured out why i couldn't use the hack. it turns out i was naming the file wrong. However simply naming the file FitCaptain01 wasn't the correct name for the file I wound up having to name it FitCaptain01_en or FitCaptain01us. this may have to do with the fact that i was using riivolution. I forgot that the file names had to exactly match the base file names. So if anyone else is having trouble putting textures over the blood falcon skin try naming the file(s) FitCaptain01_en or FitCaptain01us. This may also apply to other texture issues as well. But if you game file isn't the us version this probably won't work for you. anyway thanks for the help guys |
