Title: Deleting Custom Characters
Post by: Ҩᴜᴇᴇɴ on July 31, 2014, 12:36:56 PM
Hi. I've downloaded a hack that has a few custom characters.
I've been trying to delete them.
I've made an entire new GCT.
Did a new Sc_Character.pac code.
Sel_Map.pac
Everything.
Redid my Common.5

Yet it still has them. Well, now it makes the custom characters the old characters, but makes them complete and 100% clones. Match with CSS, CSP's, Movesets, Voice Packs.

Is there a way to completely get rid of them? Or no?
Should I send my pack here, for people to check out?

Or is this going to be completely ignored and I'll have to figure it out myself as usual?

I mean.
Louie was added in.
Same with MewTwo, Roy, DarkMetaKnight, Dr Mario.

I just want the original cast without any new characters/icons.

Is there a way to do that?
-sighs- Just took out the BrawlEx file itself.
With the CSSSSlot and stuff and it still has them.

No.  I mean.
Dr. Mario, Roy etc etc are completely different characters added.

I want them Gone. So it's just the original 46.(Or so the files say. I know there are a few blanks in there)

For instance, http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=204475 (http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=204475)
They have 5 extra characters. It works with 4gb SD Cards.

(Complete different note here
The Extension code doesn't work with me. I have the Project M Loader. It instead loads normal Brawl instead of the Brawl I wanted. Like Brawl Yin/Yang edition. it has the originakl cast. I don't like using my 2GB card for Brawl)

I want the original vBrawl Cast. No extra characters. No extra stages. No extra costumes. No extra anything.
But I want to be able to edit them with the BrawlEX Engine. (Moveset files and stuff)
I've tried the Project M Engine, it crashes or doesn't work properly when using certain mods.
The BrawlEX one doesn't have that issue.
I've taken out all and every indication that there was ever a BrawlEX file there. All character folders that were an extra character. All stages that were an extra stage. The BrawlEX config files.
Then again, there could be more and since I don't know jack about BrawlEX, there could be more.
That is why I asked if someone wishes to look at the pack, so maybe they can help me and tell me what I am missing.

Like, format my SD card?

Can you link me to a default CSSRoster.dat?

Or tell me where to put them? or something?

I... dont get it.
I re-installed. Re-did the roaster things and everything.
I am completely confused.

Why won't it delete the custom character icons?

Not exactly like that, it's also red minus the names with my custom CSS.
Blaze over Marth
Shadow over DK.
Tails over MetaKnight, etc etc.

But it has that layout exacttly.

I have no Camera.
If I give you the pack, you could see it for yourself, if you wish.

Or just delete all the folders inside your hack folder(pf, or ssbb->projectm, usually), and then re-download everything.(NOT FOR PAL THOUGH; PAL DOWNLOAD IS DOWN)
I have all the Brawl files downloaded on my computer, so if you want me to zip them and email to you them to reduce time, lemme know. :)

Will it add extra icons to the character select menu?
Will it load with a 4gb card?

No; I mean the Brawl files from the resource page, so they would be the normal characters and stuff, that you can edit to your whimsical desire :)
Since the BrawlEx stuff would be in your folders(And most likely not in the .gct), that means that by deleting it all and then just re-putting the original files there, you can have normal moddable Brawl again! :D
And the size of the SD only is dependant on whether or not you're a Gecko or Riivolution user; BrawlEx doesn't change what size card you need.

I think I use Gecko.
Then again, what does the Project M Launcher use?
Riivolution? or Gecko?

I originally thought it was because of the SCHC launcher code. But when it didn't work, I started getting curious.

My GCT now doesn't have the extension code and it loads, so it MIGHT be Riivolution..
I'll test the stuff out, if you don't mind.

So does that mean that you do want me to zip and send you the files to test it?
And you can easily figure out whether you're using Gecko or Riivolution; see what your .gct is named.
And Project M can be played by either; I know cause I have always used Project M, but I switched to Riivolution, as I found the occasional beeps from Gecko to be annoying.

Yes, it would be called "Riivolution.gct" defaultly; but it really depends on what it's called in the .xml; but defaultly, Riivolution's .gct is called that.

That would make sense. I have another thing with a riivolution.gct. Thanks to Kero.
But wasn't sure if It was supposed to be called that, or not.

What would be inside a riivolution.gct, that would make it Riivolution?
Does it need another GCT file? OR do you need to rename it the gecko file?

You just have to rename it; that's the only difference; I use the same .gct for Riivolution as I did when I was a Gecko user; the only difference is I changed the name from "RSBE01" to "Riivolution"; but I kept both just in case both were needed; to this day, I'm still unsure if I still need both, lolz. ;D

The same is inside it as whatever codes you put inside the "RSBE01" .gct; like I said, the only difference between either of them is the name.

I haven't been uploading 'em for the past few hours, 'cause I was making dinner, but...
I finished zipping the stuff(I had to zip them as separate .zip files, since OneDrive requires 2 GB or less per .zip file), and creating the Readme(Which will only be on the Brawl Vault, which I don't normally do), and I am about to upload them to OneDrive right now. Literally. :)

I'll PM you the link when it's completed.

Actually, 3 folders that are separate, all about 1 GB, with the first link(The main one) being most of the files, the second link(Link 1 in the readme) being the stages, trophies, and stickers, and the third link(Link 2 in the readme) being the sounds.

Well, 8 minutes for 16% progress, for 1 GB, I would estimate about 2% per minute per file, so I would estimate about 2% total per 3 minutes, so I would estimate a total of about 150 minutes(Approximately; also about 2 and a half hours), plus or minus some time, for it all to upload.
