Title: Brawl Item textures not loading. Post by: Transcending Wolf on August 18, 2014, 02:00:21 AM I just recently got into hacking and all this fun stuff. I've successfully managed to give characters texture swaps but I cannot, for the life of me, swap textures for items in the game.
I've been using BrawlBox v0.71 -->loading common3_en.pac -->expanding the ItmCommonBrres folder -->replacing the respective files (so far I've tried replacing the smash ball [ItmSmashBallBrres], ray gun [ItmRayGunBrres], beam sword [ItmBeamSwordBrres], poison mushroom [ItemMushDBrres], and the gooey bomb [ItmChewingBrres] with files I've downloaded from the Vault) -->saving the common3_en.pac file -->placing it in X/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/system I put the SD card into my wii and load up Brawl via CFG USB Loader (with ocarina cheats applied). I usually go to the Training Room, select my characters and off we go. The game starts and my character's textures are loaded (sweet!). This gives me hope every time. But then...I bust out the items...and get no such luck. I am seriously losing my mind trying to get this working. Any and all help is deeply appreciated. If there's anything you need to know that will help you help me, please let me know. Title: Re: Brawl Item textures not loading. Only ended up freezing at the strap loader screen. Title: Re: Brawl Item textures not loading. Post by: ABloodyCanadian on August 18, 2014, 10:31:53 AM Then you know it's working. It didn't load the 1st time because there was a _en at the end. But now you face a new problem. Why is it crashing? Well, I can only assume it's cause of filesize limitations. You can't have too many model imports when it comes to item hacks sad to say...

I didn't know about the filesize limitations. I'll do some research and see what I can do about that. Thanks, I'll post updates soon! |
