Title: Getting tons of new character and stage slots in to Project M. Post by: Randysteele992 on September 24, 2014, 06:19:05 AM Hi. I'm new to this whole Brawl hacking scene and I'm just trying to figure things out. I really want to add a bunch of new custom characters and stages to Project M (without having to overwrite other stages and characters) but I'm not sure what to do. I know about BrawlEx but from what I can tell it only works with regular Brawl. Maybe I'm wrong? I think there's a way to clone characters and then replace their character models with custom ones. I know enough about BrawlCostumeManager/BrawlStageManager to replace stages with other ones but that's as far as my knowledge goes on this whole thing.
Well if this is a stupid post, I apologize but I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks :) Title: Re: Getting tons of new character and stage slots in to Project M. Post by: windhunter7 on September 24, 2014, 08:32:14 AM If you're content with not every recolor for every character(including the normal Brawl characters), you can always put your favorite recolors of the character over a palette swap of a Brawl character that you don't like.(For example, if I hated blue, and I wanted Rosalina over Peach, I would put the normal Rosalina over the blue Peach.)
As for BrawlEx, I think that it would work with ProjectM, since I was told that the only difference with ProjectM is that it has different animations, as well as already having extra characters.(Mewtwo and Roy) So if P: M can have two extras, you can probably increase the number. Post by: Medo on September 24, 2014, 05:15:00 PM My suggestion: use Project M Unbound in conjunction with the BrawlEX Clone Tool.
It works pretty good from my own experience, though I did have one issue: for some reason, once I added three characters, any additional character added would get rid of another on the roster. I dunno if that's just some one-time thing I experienced (haven't tried adding more than three since), or an actual bug when using the Clone Tool with Unbound/Unbound's version of BrawlEX, but just throwing it out there. Still, give it a shot. |
