Also, I have patched this file: STGRESULT_en.PAC The HACKED file was: 64 STYLE STGRESULT.PAC Thanks EDIT: NOW WORKING!!! Well, I need some help O: Title: Re: Patching a Custom Result Screen Post by: mnsg on May 06, 2010, 08:18:01 PM Whoever made that texture must've been unaware that it used more memory than normal.
Usually, whenever a file uses more memory than when it's left unedited, game crashes tend to occur. Of course, this only applies to PAC files that are either compressed or contain compressed contents. An unedited STGRESULT.pac file uses up to 692 KB, and contains compressed contents. When editing that file, make sure that it uses less than 708,256 bytes when you save it. So THATS because it crashes... There are some way to fix, or report to the creator? Title: Re: Patching a Custom Result Screen Post by: mnsg on May 07, 2010, 09:51:25 AM The best way to reduce the memory of a file is to lower the quality of the texture parts. High quality images use more memory than low quality images after all.
Tip: Try reducing the number of colors that a texture part uses. That usually works for large texture parts. O: The file have lots of BRES inside a ARC file... Help please? Sorry if I'm bothering you... No, it's not that... I reduced the quality of Shadow and Sky backgrounds, and didn't worked as well... Title: Re: Patching a Custom Result Screen Post by: mnsg on May 09, 2010, 02:57:26 PM I've told you all that I can figure out. Try getting an unedited STGRESULT.pac file, and place the texture edits onto there.
Title: Re: Patching a Custom Result Screen Post by: PAVGN on May 09, 2010, 05:26:06 PM Reinsert the textures as CMPR instead of their original format. And can one of the mods move this to help already? Seriously. :>.>:
