Title: Stage Replacement Pack v1.1 - Updated Oct. 26
Post by: libertyernie on June 05, 2010, 01:26:38 AM
Stage Replacement Pack 1.1 is done!
This version adds two new stages (SSB64 Intro and Subspace Emissary 2), as well as updating Fourside, Sakuraville and Hyrule Castle. I would like suggestions for music, especially on stages that don't currently have any new tracks (i.e. Konoha is still using Yoshi music).

This pack that sets out to replace every stage in Brawl with a different one, whether it be an import, a model edit, or something completely custom. Only two stages are replaced with cosmetic-only hacks: Bridge of Edlin (Aurora Bridge by OizenX) and Smashville (Sakuraville by Sanitys Theif).

The pack works with Riivolution and with Gecko + FPC. It was designed and tested on a US NTSC version of Brawl.
Riivolution: Extract the contents of the .exe file into sd:/brawlmods/StageRep, and add the stuff in "SRP.xml" to your XML file. Then download one of the sound packs and extract them to sd:/brawlmods/StageRep. Select "Enabled w/ SSPs" for Stage Replacement Pack on Riivolution's menu.
Gecko: Copy the "pf" and "pfmenu2" folders to your SD card. common5_optional.pac isn't needed, since the same stuff is in sc_selmap.pac (Riivolution loads common5_en.pac first; that's why the file is there.) Download one of the sound packs and extract them to sd:/private/wii/app/RSBE.

Make sure the .brstm files are in pf/sound/strm (not in pf/pf/sound/strm or something like that); otherwise, the game can't find them.

An info.pac and mu_menumain.pac are included for the music titles.

If you want, you can use this optional custom SSS code. Let me repeat: this is optional. No codes are required for the SRP to work. This code just rearranges the stages so SSB64, Melee and SSE stages (as well as the WWR) are on the second screen, and the rest of the stages are on the first.

All-Star mode:
Using Tabuu, I have made a custom common2.pac for changing the stages in All-Star mode to match the characters. You can download the common2.pac here. (http://www.mediafire.com/?gu8ke9to1f54eua) Instructions and a guide to who gets what stages is in a PDF here. (http://www.mediafire.com/?bll6c11nv81yeco)

Documents:
In the download (and also available from the links here) are:
*a spreadsheet showing the stages and their authors (available in OpenDocument (http://libertyernie.heliohost.org/StageRep/Stage%20List%20(OpenDocument).ods), Excel (http://libertyernie.heliohost.org/StageRep/Stage%20List%20(Microsoft%20Excel).xls) or HTML formats (http://libertyernie.heliohost.org/StageRep/Stage%20List%20(HTML).html))
*a FAQ (http://libertyernie.heliohost.org/StageRep/FAQ.html)
*a change list (http://libertyernie.heliohost.org/StageRep/Changes%20in%20v1.1.html)

The downloads are self-extracting .exe files, created with 7-zip. If you don't want to or can't run the .exe files, change the extension to ".7z" and open it with 7-zip or another compatible program. (Most new Linux distributions have 7-zip support built into whatever zip program they come with.)

Downloads:
StageRep1.1.exe (http://www.mediafire.com/?cb4qnddxn6py2b3) (62.09 MB)
Low quality sound pack (22050 or 16000 Hz on most songs) (http://www.mediafire.com/?qcf8qbt1tzl043s) (116.53 MB)
High quality sound pack (44100 or 32000 Hz on most songs) (http://www.mediafire.com/?qcf8qbt1tzl043s) (189.93 MB)
Upgrade package - only the files changed since 1.0 (http://www.mediafire.com/?a9qjy9ap4e9f9pr) (23.08 MB)

If you want to change some of the stages or songs, keep in mind that:
1. you need to have the correct .rel file. (What .rel file I'm using is listed for each stage in the "Based on / .rel used" field in the Stage List.)
2. stage portraits, titles and icons are in sc_selmap.pac, common5.pac (if you're using it), and mu_menumain.pac (for the My Music screen).
3. music names are in info.pac (for battles) and mu_menumain.pac (for the My Music screen).

I updated the pack to v0.7. Now the majority of stages are replaced. I haven't fully tested it, though. If something crashes, try deleting sc_selmap.pac and trying again.

Em... hi... There's a little fix for hyrule castle now ^^U... xDDD

But it's okay, you can include it for the next version of the pack, it's not a big fix ^^U

It's about some graphical unfinished things and the camera/death for the right side. It's still not finished anyway.

Thanks for the tip. I'll update it in the next version for sure.

I finally released it! All but four stages are replaced now, and two of those four do have textures.
Some of the stages I included were not finished until after my last post in mid-June :)

@ToonJDub: Yep. :) I might make a section in the OP for SSP credits; I got them all from the Portraits board here, but I don't always remember who. Not many of them are actually mine.

@ShadowSnake: I put it over Mushroomy Kingdom. It's really that simple. It uses 2 .PACs and one .rel, so I put in a Final Destination .rel.

Alot of the stages freeze, could it be because I am using B+ 7.02 gold version?

Did you remember to move or delete your old "stage" and "module" folders before putting the new ones in? Also, are you using Gecko OS or Riivolution? Gecko is easier to troubleshoot, because it only does 1 thing ;)

I don't have music for all the stages, though - some, like Konoha and Budokai Tenkaichi, have lame default music, just because I'm not familiar with the games they come from.

Just a reminder, Fourside and daytimes are now melee sized and texture fixed, so you can update them in your pack if you want to. You can also use a jungle japes rel file for them if you want to include the flooded one or something.

There's a small shadow update in Hyrule64 too.

I know this is late, but isn't there a hack that replaces Castle Seige with other stages, like Battlefield, Bridge of Eldin, and another? (I can't remember right now)

I'm pretty sure this one would work. Wouldn't it?

I don't know if you can replace Castle Siege with another stage, but there is a Castle Siege hack called Subspace Emissary 2 that uses parts of other stages. But I'm saving that for my second Stage Replacement Pack that I'll probably release at some point :)
Apparently you can replace Lylat Cruise by changing st_startfox.rel and STGSTARFOX_DIFF.PAC, but I haven't tried it.
I should update Fourside and Hyrule Castle though. I'll do that soon.

Sure, but I'm going to update it soon, so you might want to wait until then. v1.1 will have an updated Fourside and Hyrule Castle, as well as SSB64 Intro (over Lylat Cruise) and Subspace Emissary 2 (a Castle Siege hack.)

Just uploaded SRP 1.1. It adds two stages and upgrades three. I hope it works fine for everybody.
I also added an upgrade package, so if you have SRP 1.0, you can download just the files that changed.
The new Stage List (link) (http://libertyernie.heliohost.org/StageRep/Stage%20List%20(HTML).html) now has credits of who made each stage.

I didn't know about the issue in the Cave level, so I can tell you for sure that it's not fixed, since the only thing I did to that stage since I got it was to make it FD-compatible.

I added a new feature: All-Star mode fixes! Using Tabuu, I made a custom common2.pac for changing the stages in All-Star mode to match the characters.
