Title: Sonic the Hedgehog: Full Throttle
Post by: Kaye Cruiser on July 15, 2010, 11:36:24 AM
(http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/zackwinzard/Sonic.jpg)

Wavestah here, how's it going? ¦D

I finally decided to go ahead and conjure up another monstrosity moveset to have fun with, and decided I'd go ahead and share it with you guys too. As usual, some may like it, some may not. In this case though, others may have a hard time figuring out just how to use it. XD;

Once again, this is a Sonic moveset. However, instead of doing one of his various transformations, I decided to make a moveset representing Sonic himself, that being whenever the gloves are off and he goes wild and all out. That said, this moveset is going to be a lot more speedy and hectic than the normal moveset. Puts up a good challenge to fight against too. However, this is the one moveset I've make that actually doesn't have Onslaught or Hyper level cheapness. The cheap factor of this moveset is solely the fact that you have almost complete control over Sonic's arsenal of rapid attacks with almost the single push of a button. (And a tilt here or there. ¦D)

So without further delay, I present to you, with the strong desire to avoid calling it Sonic Unleashed,

Sonic the Hedgehog:

FULL THROTTLE

Somewhere right now a Sega/Sonic Team employee is pissed cause he lost the name for the next crappy spinoff.

Whenever you're doing what's usually Sonic's jog, yo'll notice you'll be going a bit faster than usual and using the running animation. You aren't actually going as fast as the "actual" run or anything of the sort. I made the jog that way for a reason, which will be obvious when we get to the Side B.

Since this is going to be a mouthful, we'll start off with the standard combo. Simple hit the A button three times like normally and you'll do the usual 3 hit combo, though the kick will work similarly to Ganon's Sparta Kick.

However, if you hold A during the second punch and keep holding it, this will be the combo you do instead.

Three punches, 3 kicks (The first two being the Sonic Battle ones), then the leaping spin kick (Also from SB), a slide in the middle of that, then a sweep, the two upward kicks of u-tilt, and then finally the usual side kick at then end.

Looks like a lot, I know...and it is. XD; As to be expected though, not all of these attacks will reach their destination each and every time just because you're holding A. There's a chance someone will get knocked behind you (Link >_>), or that you'll end up jumping over them during spinning kick. (Pikachu. >_>)  Also, if you let go of the A button anytime during it, you'll cancel the chain and he'll stop, leaving you either open for an attack, or ready to chain into a different attack.

Next is the D-Tilt combo.

First he starts with the sweep kick, which can actually be used continously if you hit A again instead of holding it. If you hold A, he'll spin in a full circle for a second sweep, then he uses his original side tilt which will actually pull you in closer, then finishes it off with the dance kick from Sonic Battle, Sonic Flare.

Sonic Flare also happens to be his D-Smash

Onto U-Tilt now.

The usual double kicks, hold A and you'll do a sweep to pull the enemy closer, then you'll go into Sonic somersault kick, Sonic Updraft.

Sonic Updraft is also Sonic's U-Smash.

Side Tilt. This one's a bit tricky at times.

The first of Sonic kicks will launch the enemy forward, and possibly a little upward. Hold A and he'll go into his [s]Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku[/s] leaping spin kick. (This name of this one escapes me. o_o) After that, he'll go into his slide attack. Be careful of when he does the slide, as he moves for awhile, and kinda fast. I wouldn't recommend using this towards the side of a walkoff stage.

The slide attack is also Sonic's Dash Attack, but ironically the Dash Attack version doesn't slide as far as the Tilt Cancel version.

About the only thing different with F-Smash is the animation used for the start up and charge. I never liked how it looked when he swing his fist around like they're in some cartoon. XD

Onto the Aerials. Let's start with N-air

Sonic with use a Screw Attack-esque move, hitting you 5 times before knocking you off him on the 6th hit.

Also, as extra

If he hits the ground, he'll bounce up off of it. You'll be able to move wherever you want awhile bouncing too, so if you use the move again, you can bounce around everywhere. Not really sure if it's useful, but it's sure fun to do. XD

F-Air. Sonic Eagle.

Sonic basically performs a somersault kick downwards and spikes the enemy.

B-Air. This is basically just a faster version of his normal B-Air.

U-Air. Sonic does a weaker Sonic Updraft in midair.

And now for D-Air, SA2's Bounce Attack.

First Sonic rises up a little before launching down.

Once he launches down and hits the opponent, he'll bounce off of them, inflicting a weak spike on them. He also bounces off the ground if he hits like, like with N-Air.

There's another little secret to N-Air and also D-Air, but I'll get to during Neutral B. :3

The new Homing Attack.

I've managed to make Homing Attack lock on targets better, but only if they're infront of, above or under you.

He moves forward faster now and often even goes straight forward to the target. Other times, he'll curve a bit extra to get a dodging enemy, or change directions in the middle of the attack. However, when he uses it and someone is behind him, he tends to go too slow and is wide open. I thought about fixing it, but I think it makes a decent weakness compared to the next thing I'm going to explain.

Full Throttle has a certain feature that pretty much defines why he's considered overpowered for his control, well aside from the high speed combos anyways, but at least those don't always hit and do a feasible amount of damage.

If you hold B after using Homing Attack,

Sonic will go forward again with another homing attack. However, it won't lock on at all. If you hold A however,

He'll start moving towards to center point of the stage. (Or whatever is considered the center by him anyways. o_o) If you keep holding the B, he'll go forward constantly until he falls off the platform. Which then, if he goes into this animation for when you miss in midair,

He'll start going back to the platform again to avoid [s]failing[/s] dying.

These same controls apply for the following:

N-Air/D-Air: When Sonic bounces off the ground, hold B to dash forward with a non-lock on Homing Attack, or hit A to shoot into the air once.

Neutral B's Landing animation:

When Sonic lands like this, there are IASA frames so you can move as you please, but if you keep holding B instead,

He'll start constantly dashing towards the middle point.

Air Side-B: Explained below.

Also, any time he bounces off the ground from Homing Attack.

That's about all for Homing Attack.

Onto Side-B. Boost, Speed Break, Light Speed Dash, call it what you like. XD

Going back to the beginning, this is the reason why Sonic's jog was sped up a little and switched to his running animation. With Side-B, Sonic will dash forward and run at intense speeds. Keep in mind that when you use this, you don't have to hold B, just hold the direction you want to go to. It's his jog, so you can use any attack you want while running.

Air Side-B.

Sonic will first charge up for a moment.

After that, he'll dash toward and knock anything in his path out the way. This makes a great KO move after one of the combos. Keep in mind that he's just dashing forward though. This isn't Homing Attack.

Also, if you use it while descending,

He'll dash diagonally down instead of straight. Also, if you use it just before you land on the ground,

He'll charge at forward on the ground instead.

Lastly, if you're holding B whenever it's over in midair,

He'll start moving towards the middle point of the stage.

And last (because Up-B is the same XD), Down-B. Anyone familiar with Hyper Sonic should be used to this move already.

Sonic's Spin Dash goes faster regardless of charging and has instant turning.

That wraps up everything for the moves, but there's one more little extra I added in there just for kicks, and for a certain badass Machinimator.

Hyper Sonic Animations!

I had a feeling this moveset would look good with Hyper Sonic's outfits, and this moveset is what Hyper Sonic was originally going to be before I changed my mind and made him...well...Hyper Sonic. XD This has Hyper versions of all the new animations used in the moveset, and works perfectly with the moveset. :3

There...All done...Now all I'm missing are some moveset and battle videos, but I'll worry about that later. This little project was harder than it should've been for such a simple moveset. But oh well, I'm done rambling. I'm so [censored] sleep deprived right now. Download, have fun, and kick ass with him or kick his. Beating this Sonic with a normal character is only slightly harder than beating the normal Sonic. Hell, I 3 stocked him with ZSS. ¦D

Take care folks. Wavestah over and out. ¦3

Would you like me to PM a video for you? It's not the best quality but I would be more than happy to support this!!

This looks BADASSITUDE (yes I made up a word deal with it XD) *downloads*

Anyways you were very quiet about this Wave.  Complete opposite to me.  Usually I announce something to get people hyped (and to help me with issues I may have) then release it a while after XD.  Just looking at all the stuff it looks like you put quite a bit of time into this.

Now I'm having 2nd thoughts about doing my Hyper Shadic PSA errr....super secret project  :srs:

I'll also be more than happy to do a video.  This is truely awesome stuff.

I tend to usually do that with my moveset and releases. I only tell certain people about it and recieve help from them if I'm REALLY stuck somewhere, or just have them try it out first and see how they like it, and make a few more changes accordingly.

Besides, like I said, I make my hacks specifically for myself. I'm just sharing them with you guys too. ¦D

And thanks! That's 2 people now. :3

this moveset is crazy and perfectly suits a speed fanatic such as sonic and myself. The only con I would give is the air mobility is too great. The bouncing ball thing is awesome and great for mind games or jujst showing off :P. I just faced lvl 9's and they didn't know what to do lol. Light dash is excellent for getting behind ur opponent as well.

It takes some time getting used to, but its a awesome moveset.

@scorpio

Thanks pal. We aim to please ¦3

@Fireking

Hey there! Haven't seen you around for a bit. :3

I'll agree with you entirely on the air mobility being too great, but I figured it was pointless to nerf it since this is Sonic going all out, and he actually moves quite fast in the air. XD

Thanks for your feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it. ¦3

Very Cool PSA... I Enjoyed Him Quite A Bit.. The Good Thing Is Tht He Didnt Just Stand There Like Shadow V0.8... LOL...(No Offense To mastaklo).. It Was Fun Fighting Him With My Dark Samus...  ;D

Oh right, the problem with Shadow's AI file...I need to talk to Mastaklo on let him know I can fix that for him, since I did it for myself when I downloaded the moveset. -.o

I'm glad you enjoyed the moveset Nuke. Thanks a lot. :3

Did you have a hard time against him? or did you do fairly well? ¦D

Well I Beat Him On My First Try But After That He Was A Challenge... I Think It Depends The Map You Play Him In... The Less Obstacles He Has The Faster And Free'r (Not A Word) He Is..
It Was Kinda Funny Tht When He Was Free Falling After I Knocked Him Up He Was Homing In On Me.. HAHA.. I Think I Did Fairly Well... Teaming Up With Him Was A Massacre... But Fun

Y'know, if the Samurai Falco PSA ever gets finished, I might make one that is mostly Melee-oriented like this PSA is.

His Final Smash will be a cinematic where the camera pans around him while performing a huge combo attack before finishing it off with a with DBZ-style barrage of black fireballs of some kind, and a slash of his giant sword.

I will call it Doom Samurai.

I tried this move set out a little bit ago...

It's rather fun to use, my main problem is, one, too good of air mobility, but you knew that already, two, forward air... That move is broken... A lag-less spike? Seems kinda off to me, because otherwise he has a hardish time killing... Well, he's really good at gimping, but that spike is too good compared to the rest of his air moves, the hit box also lasts quiet awhile too, making it easy to hit with...

But other then that, I might be missing a few more broken things, but this move set is fun.

Title: Re: Sonic the Hedgehog: Full Throttle
Post by: Kaye Cruiser on July 17, 2010, 08:21:06 AM
You're missing quiet a few actually, like how he's practically the master of recovery thanks to the holding A/B thing...

But yeah, I agree. F-Air is overpowered...And this is AFTER I made it weaker too. I guess I should've made it as weak as a spike as D-Air. Sorry about that...

But at least you find the moveset fun. That's the most important thing here...Thanks.

Actually it wouldn't need to be one animation.  In fact what it would be actually is about 20 or so subactions.  But still I think it's a pretty ridiculous idea.  The fact that you'd be able to kill your opponent by simply holding one button seems ridiculously OPed to me and not too fun, even though it would take a lot of hard work to do.

It's best to jump before the attack is over, you lose a lot of momentum that way.

Okay I just got done trying out your Sonic, and since i know I've would have wanted feedback here's mine to you. n_n

Let start with the 'Good' shall we?

First the combo's we're cool, my favorites are the d-tilt, and the s-tilt. I like how you could cancel out of long Neutral 'A' into a tilt combo.

The forward smash charge animation is the same thing i wanted to do, i thought the same thing about sonic spin his arm around like that. I love the sonic battle style down, and up smashes the hit boxes are done perfectly.

There's nothing i can really say about the tilts since you didn't do nothing more then taking away some of the knock back in some of them, and using my idea for the forward tilt.

I like that you used my side-b idea on the ground, i see you switched the fast run animation to make it look better, i might have to do the same. The air version is cool, the guy i was working on this wanted something like this, but now that you've done it i'll think of something else. n_n.

The down special is done like how i wanted to do mine, which is cool as well.

Now for the 'Bad' (Try not to bite my head off.)

"sigh"...

okay let just get this over with.

I didn't like the holding for the 'A' or 'B' after the homing attack, or the N-air it's too much recovery which turn Sonic into a 'monster' if abuse.

The d-air is cool, but the bounce of the ground kills the idea of landing into another attack, but it will confuse opponents. So it's do or don't here.

The f-air is to forced, no matter what angle, or timing i use the opponent goes shooting straight down even after the animation the hitbox lingers to much.

The u-air has no real killing options, and almost no combo options, I tried using this in as many way as possible but you would have to be a the top of the screen to kill with, to combo with it is very tricky unless you use you second, or even third jump to connect an hit after this.

The only thing wrong with is the attack feels like I'm smacking someone with wet paper, and the hitbox lingers to much.

As you see i only really had problem with the air attacks, but your still working on this right so I'm sure you fix some of this.

Don't know if you want it but I'm writing it anyway...

my advice this:

- kill the bounce from the n-air, and leave it for the d-air.

"Sonic just bounces way too much it hard to get in the moves i want with out completely stopping"

- If the f-tilt has more then one hitbox give them different angle lunch depending on which way sonic's foot is moving, and maybe kill the last hitbox, add more hit lag to the last hit.

"i like this move but it takes away running combo ideas since don't cancel, or knock them away only down."

- the N-air does hit multiple times but only drills them with not good knock back, add knock to the last hixbox and it should be cool.

- The U-air needs more knock back that's it.

"This would work great if you made is like captain falcon's from the first smash bro's"

- Controlling your Sonic don't feel comfortable, he feels like he's sliding all over the place, and add more gravity to him his running jumps feel off, like he'll just float off somewhere, lol...

that's it really.

my grade for this Sonic Psa and brawlbox is:

7 out of 10 rings: B+

Alright, I won't feel rude saying this now.

The A combo (holding A) Doesn't work at all. The first 4 or so hits work, and then the rest of them (like 6???) just trail off. Just let go of the button and combo off into something else? Duh, but It's almost useless unless a foe is on the edge, most of the hits can connect.

Most of sonic's attacks leave him sliding all over the place. He moves too much.

I know you don't think I have a single PSA coming up but I will, so don't hate on me for that. Thanks. Just some constructive critics.

I actually think the combos are awesome! I usually hit all the hits (in 1 vs 1) and it does 33% damage... Its epic! Of course with 4 players all at once its almost impossible to hit the neutral A combo but sonic still has the U D and S tilt combos!

To hit the combos right be sure to note how far the enemy is from the first hit, usually if you barely hit the first punch the combo can go all the way.

So yeah it works...really well... If it doesn't its because you missed...

Sorry I'm kinda tired >.< well anyway I agree with PPXEXE on the F-air... it lasts too long and hits too hard... You can actually do a D-B F-air combo that always kills (unless its a walkoff stage) and it won't matter what % the enemy has...

I always hit the first bunch. I only found this sonic's combos useful at the subspace emisarry against strong enemies that wouldn't die.

If it does 33% don't you think it's kind of cheap?

I always start off the first punch next to the foe, and then all them hit, then sonic leaps over them and fails.

1) Yeah it is cheap but its just punishment to the fool that let sonic attack first <_<

2) Lol yeah that happens a lot XD But if you weaken the enemy first then the combo can keep going :3 Try against B+ bowser with around 80-100% Usually against that the combo is easy to hit 8D

And I don't play subspace with hacks so idk what its like XD

I used sonic because of his side B's superspeed in SSE.

Bowsers the only guy the combo works on.

I'd give this sonic a 7/10. The main thing about him fails. Up and downtilts work.

everything else.....

Nice tho.

Okay I just got done trying out your Sonic, and since i know I've would have wanted feedback here's mine to you. n_n

Considering I make hacks solely for myself and no one else, I don't care about feedback at all. Since I share it with everyone out of boredom, all I look for is whether someone likes it or not. Detailed and pointless breakthroughs and ratings of it are rather pointless to me, thus I tend to ignore them. ¦D

But thanks for giving me a reason to bump my thread! ¦3

Well sheesh, I wish I had known that sooner! I might (I stress might), not have jumped on you on how overly broken Zelda was...Then again, Zelda is cheap already, so I hate fighting her. XD

But I understand you better now at the least. ¦3

haha Wave,  I thought that was obvious the entire time. I mean why else would I make overpowered characters like the hacks I made? XD...I like exponentially challenging and overpowered, and visually enhanced battles as long as there's a way to defeat the character I'm challenging. I made a Bowser hack to beat zelda but now I'm having trouble beating this overpowered Bowser, I'm going to weaken him big time, in version 3.0....and yeah I could have done a better job with zelda's moveset but school and work gets in the way. lol.

Thanks! I heard you did a Sonic one too. I'd to see you release it. :3 If not, I'd be happy to keep it privately for myself too. ¦3 *SMACKED* Looking forward to Marth too.

I'm thinking of trying a little something now though, like trying to make a moveset where you can switch between Hyper Sonic and Full Throttle by taunting, or he'll start off as Full Throttle, then fight as Hyper as he gets damage. :3

That sounds cool. I did something like that with my Overlord Marth PSA, he has 4 sword mode changes  but sadly he still can't beat demonic bowser 2.0 LOL!....

Yup, you'll have both of your sonic hacks in 1 XD...btw, is there a limit to the file size? Just wondered because sonic's pac file size is greater than most characters.

Hey wave, I found out how to do that thing you was talking about, don't know if you remember or not. But you was talking about putting multiple move-set on one psa file.

Here try out my test.

http://www.mediafire.com/?pm1wvru70rdscrn

the way you switch the moves is by doing the side taunt, and return using the up taunt, for a easy switch you can air dodge.

What i did is return the original moves by using the switch.

but the way this works you can put at least 3 different move-sets on one file if you watch your file size.

Let me know what you think, I can give you the details if you want.

Later! n_n

What move did you add?

Title: Re: Sonic the Hedgehog: Full Throttle
Post by: SonicBurstX on August 27, 2010, 12:45:00 PM
Just the time manipulation article.  to start it off but even if I just change his hits into elementals like fire, it freezes when I do up throw, when doing neutral air and his down smash won't connect.  Everything else works fine one whatever I change except for those three moves.  Any help or if someone would like to take a look at it

Where did you put time manipulation?

Title: Re: Sonic the Hedgehog: Full Throttle
Post by: SonicBurstX on August 27, 2010, 12:50:52 PM
On his ground forward B.  But that is one thing. If I change anything about him it freezes on the moves I just said, forgot to mention foward air doesn't hit as well, but that is it.  Everything else I changed works

Title: Re: Sonic the Hedgehog: Full Throttle
Post by: Hollow on August 27, 2010, 12:53:14 PM
I don't see the problem. It should work fine. Try putting time manipulation on a taunt instead.

Title: Re: Sonic the Hedgehog: Full Throttle
Post by: SonicBurstX on August 27, 2010, 01:07:30 PM
No dice.  Don't see what is wrong.  It seems everything works but the downsmash doesn't hit or Im left in the T-stance, foward air doesn't hit, and the game freezes when I do up throw or neutral air right when I touch the ground.  Frustrating

I don't remember ever saying you were allowed to mess with the moveset. Only Hollow has gotten permission. Cease and desist at once.

This is nice and all but...

I just remembered a crucial problem that'll make switching from any moveset to Full Throttle impossible.

Full Throttle has it's own FitMotion, while Hyper has it's own as well. >.>'

We may be able to switch movesets inbattle this way, but not FitMotions. Even if it was the normal Sonic moveset, it can't NOT load Full Throttle's in the folder and then suddenly load it. It doesn't work that way.

Yeah. BUT!!!! Hyper Sonic has barely any custom/swapped animations. The rest are all Sonic's. Full Throttle has all the custom/swapped ones. So that should be a big deal. I could replace some unused animations in Full Throttle and switch them for the ones in Hyper Sonic.

It's kool, I was just letting you know anyway, I'm still working on my 'Mach 2' moves-set, when I finish that I may or may-not use this for an alternative move-set, I like the idea of switching between two different move-sets instantly, I make for some cool looking Combo's!

you should make his up b that tornado thing from sonic heros, keeping his ,i can use any move but speacials, fall after it. this way your hack would be completly original, with almost no moves from the original sonic.

hey i am working a on mix of Burst sonic(mainly the Side-B/N-B)+this one with like with the "A" combo + maybe afew new things like new up-B/fixed Jump animation to look more like modern Sonic
i think it will be fine for just fix Shadow´s Jump animations to Sonic
i will call it SMBZ: Sonic
so my SMBZ: Mario got a SMBZ friend  :af2:

Thanks for the offer, but I doubt I will. I'll keep it in mind though in case I change my mind.

I saw your PM. I'm not really too keen on parts of Full Throttle being used for this, but on the other hand I suppose there's no harm in it. I'm mainly skeptical because I don't like the changes made to Silent's Shadow on the port to DK, but that's neither here nor there.

If Silent is letting you use parts of Burst Sonic, feel free to use parts of Full Throttle.

Title: Re: Sonic the Hedgehog: Full Throttle
Post by: DoctorFlux(Mariodk) on May 13, 2011, 09:07:31 AM
thanks :D and the reason for i change afew things is so the import works better and etc. and for the up-B on ShadowKong was mainly so you can come faster around so running slow bugs not 100% needed for be fixed
i am soon done
and i will maybe make the moveset for get it to work with PAL SFX too later (maybe after Gotenks is out with his first beta)
there is not much change in both moveset but since Sonic Vbrawl moveset was almost SMBZ just needed Burst Sonic´s Side-B and afew from your´s PSA new up-B
so i will make a mixed PSA the most things is maybe your´s i think but i will add your both to colab. and the PSA will be ShadowKong Friendly i just needing a new you are too slow animation to look good without GFX

Title: Re: Sonic the Hedgehog: Full Throttle

The moves Sonic uses in SMBZ are mostly from Sonic Battle, and none of the Sonic Battle moves are used in Brawl. In fact, Brawl Sonic borrows most of his moves from Sonic the Fighters.

Which is part of the reason I'll be making a new moveset soon.
