So after tons of stress.. i present to you a Beta of my First Original Character from Project Xin.  He has the same name as I  (Kyzon) and when i stop being lazy and figure out how to do it will have his own custom texture...

So Changes
New Up Tilt. Uses Up throw Animation (still needs work)
New Up Smash Uses Up B Animation (not working properly yet)
New Side Smash 3 Hit Combo.. with hit 1 and 2 having slight stunning abilities.
New Side B.. A Teleporting Attack.
New Up B  A Spinning attack that deals electrical damage
Neutral B is in progress.. currently does nothing yet for now...
New Side and Down Taunts... Side will be fixed soon tho..
Down Throw slows down ala The Matrix before the attack.
small tweaks to physics...  (will make alot more later)
Special Weapon Graphx all over..


To Do:
Get more graphx while the file is small.
Finish Removing Sword and Sheild from EVERY attack and animation.
Finish B moves
Finish A moves.
Change Final Smash
Change Voice (to make it deeper)
Tons of Tweaks.
other stuff i cant remember..

i think alot of Ganon's are using this animation for the Fsmash :P

and @ Miacis What effects would you personally add?  I'm open for suggestions..
I did notice that i need an electric based animation since he uses thunder

Well, the effects I was talking about are the old ones, that sticked even though you changed the animations.
I was just suggesting you removes them, since they do not fit the new animation.

So you should remove ... :
- Up-Taunt : A shockwave when Ganondorf applauses, and something that makes his cape fly off ...
- Side-Taunt : The "Heh! *punch*punch*" sound when he does his battle pose victory stance, and the dark effect that comes when he punches his hand ...
- Down-Taunt : The weird sword showing up ...

If you'd like suggestions to replace these effects, I'd say ...
- Up : try to put the "dark effect that comes when he punches his hand" when he claps his hands
- Side : replace his sounds by other LOOOUUDD NOISES!!! he makes during his random attcks, so that it sounds more like his victory pose. Maybe a little "wind shockwave" in the bacj, at the end of the animation.
- Down ... Just remove the sword, I think :p (Or maybe a sparkle of electricity at the end ? Why not ? :D)


(Excuse me I proposed some impossible things. I'm quite new at this and, in fact, never tried doing any custom moveset :P)

That Link is awesome and I'm tempted to DL Ganondorf Unleashed but I dont wanna have to much broken characters(yes I'm looking at you Samus Starlett moveset)...even in lvl3-4 the CPU kicks my ass.....Flash Jump!

The up B I think you should try to get it to shoot maybe three arrows in a row that go straight and see if you can have wind surrounding them and you neutral B idk what you have planned but I think a simple strong slash would be cool for the neutral B

O__O i'm actually removing all of the projectiles from this link.. but if projectiles are wanted i can just make 2 diff versions. one w and one w/o.
Hmmm strong slash with the Bat animation may be what i do.
and i may change up the sword's shape for that slash or something (once i figure out how to use the final smash effects)

Edit: BTW I found a bug when ever I grab with link my game seems to freeze now I don't  know if its cause of your hack or if its cause I play brawl off of USB loader GX but I would check into that. ^_^ :sonic:

cant really help there. i dunno how to perminately compress a file, just temperarlity using a rar file... wait! do u mean the game wont load it?

everything seems fine. no freezes, no glitches. sideB made me orgasim. its that awesome! upB is tight too, but i want to let u kno that it does 43% damage with no charge, in air or ground w/ a huge knockback.

also sideB can be used forever in air (even tho you drop about an in-game inch thus u cant really stay in air forever) just want to let u kno that people WILL abuse that. (like me :-)

im curious what neutral B and down B are going to be. all the new A attacks are amazing! overall: WHAT A TIGHT ASS CHARACTER!!! good job man!!! :happy:

yea lol the up B needs ALOT of tweaking to make it less broken..
it does way too much damage as is...
I'm probably gonna give all of his throws that "MATRIX" effect that the Down Throw has..

Ah yes the SideB... lol my brother hates that move
i use it as an excape or recovery...  not soo much as an attack but when i hit people with it sometimes i can combo them with 2 or 3 of them...

I'm gonna keep working on him tomorrow and maybe next week i'll have an updated version

oh and the neutral B will be a Projectile that shoots out of his hand.. and Down B idk yet.. maybe a reflect or somethin. or counter if i can get it working... or...... maybe another combo attack.

side smash is bomb. i love how it freezes people and then he does a triple attack. and its not necessarily cheap cuz it doesnt have much knockback, but maybe a tiny little bit of knockback would be great, just enough to kill someone at like 100%+ damage or so. i also learned that u can combo a quick upB after a dthrow.

Oh yea Dthrow to Up B combo makes my brother a very very unhappy person :P

he keeps whining saying its cheap lol.

knockback will be fixed soon but after i get all of my moves down.
I'll be making more combo moves probably.. and i heard a good suggestion to make him do diff actions out of his Side B depending on button presses

Unleashed Will be Finished after this and my next character.. Dont worry he's not gone at all..

And the extra glowing swords are part of his design... i dont have a printer so i cant really draw him an scan him to show you guys yet. but soon since i start college monday :)

and next version the 3 on his right hand will retract untill needed.

I do love the appearance of Link, it's the best i've seen so far. But I think i'll be using another Link moveset for now, but I do look forward to what types of changes you'll be making. Excellent job on the extra swords =] If only there were larger hitboxes to reach where the sword effects go when you're attacking.

really looking forward to your next update for this =D looks amazing using the Zero (from Megaman) texture for link!! And the Up+B definately gave me that Zero feel, 100%!! (Although this is irrelevant to what you're probably aiming for xD). There's just something about the Generic Rage Link that makes me want to use that one instead, for now. It felt strange using it at first, but after some time of using it, I started to like it. Maybe it's just the ability to kick behind you on the ground, or something. I'm not so sure why myself. But at the same time, I really want to be able to use yours because of the way everything looks.

Well, in one test match I was doing I used the side B near the edge of the map (FD) and instead of going forward I got stuck at the top of the map where I couldn't see Link besides in the bubble. I left him there for about a minute before forcing him off to the right to die so I could respawn on the stage. I then tried it again and the same thing happened. However, after that one match I couldn't get him to do it again so I'm not sure if Link has to be in a certain spot near an edge for it to happen or not, or what triggers it at all.

Overall though it's pretty awesome o: Can't wait to see the final version.

i think u probably misread my post, because i'm pretty sure Generic Rage Link doesnt have any body changes. or i might have not made it clear enough to understand. what i meant was that i love how Kyzon's Link has 3 more blades on his other arm, and how it looks when he attacks. =]
What i'm mostly looking for in characters, is something new. Like, to have that feeling that it's not even Link anymore. Although a few characters that use dark aura, freezing, etc is great, but for some reason, (could be just me), it feels like that's getting kind of old now. (With the exception of Avatar Ness, I love where that's going!). I say this because lets say we have about half of our characters with these types of things (the freezing, darkness, etc), I cant see myself wanting to constantly play a game with repetitive visuals with my friends. (Crap, i've gone off topic) xD

But yeah, Kyzon's Link definately has potential to me over Generic Rage Link. It's just that for now, i'll stick withe Generic Rage Link.

Hmmm...  well i see what you mean with link randomly teleporting off the stage... and up... hmmm i think i have a fix with that...   Next update i'll see if i can make it so Side B stops at the edge when used from the ground to prevent that.. but you can still use it in the air for edge guarding purposes.. and i'm gonna try and make it so you can only use it maybe twice in the air.  and also the appearance animation for the air one will be tweaked too.

i'm glad someone else likes the look of the Up B tho...  I'm probably gonna have 2 versions way down the line with small visual differences.. like that up b on one and a diff up b on another... same function but diff look....

Glad you guys are enjoying it tho...  there will be alot more changes by the end of the week maybe

Firing out a blade for neutral B sounds pretty nice =o If it's possible, maybe you should make it look like he's firing out an energy blade or omething from his arm with the 3 blades.

And the 14 hit combo sounds pretty good as well, maybe with lower damage, and knockback on the final hit. and also making it cancelable.

sounds like your next update is going to be amazing, cant wait =D

If i could change the arm link uses i'd use a blade from his right arm.. but what i'm thinking of doing is making the Middle Blade disappear from the right arm and fire out of the left arm because it goes with the animation that i'm using for the attack..

and the combo i'm about to test right now..
if it works like i plan, the attack will look like hmm... trunks and janemba fused together for a rape party :3

still gotta fix these hitboxes and all tho.. the Fthrow works fine for me but the Down B could use alot more work.. currently only does like 16 damage... and has no knockback.. but has a 100 frame startup

Well her character gains a small portion of kyzon's power when they fight together so i'm probably gonna see if its possible (just for looks) have blades pop up for her when she's fighting him

its kinda very broken :P
but still fun as hell to play as...
the Neutral B isnt there yet but all the other B moves are  (up b goes way too far right now)
so expect some overpowered awesome by tonight

I just tested it out, and for a testing version, I like where this is going for the most part. There's just a few things i'd recommend for Down+B and Side+B. They both cause the entire map to shake, which is quite bothersome, and in consideration of other players fighting against Link as well. (Unless this was planned to be fixed, i'm not really quite sure, so I thought I should just bring this up). Obviously there are quite a lot of hitboxes that you'll probably be working on before the release, but I've gotten to like this link much more after seeing this =]
The Up Grab looks amazing too lolz. But I am wondering about the Up+B, if you'll be releasing it with or without the red effect. I really did like that effect (although i'm not sure how it looks like on the regular link textures since I use to Zero texture).
Absolutely love the glow ^-^ Big congrats on your progress!! Now i'm really looking forward to the version release lolz

Edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention, I love the side smash and up smash =p

and as for the down smash, i'm not sure if you were going to do this, but maybe you could add some hitboxes on his other hand during the attack, because it does look like he's attacking with them during the down smash.

Oh the earthquake effect? that was intended on the side B... well the grounded one.. forgot to take it off the Down B and Aireal ones tho..

I can add that red thingy back if ya want for ur own personal use...
but what i'll do with the up b is have 4 blades stick out of his head and 4 out of his body while he spins

what are you thoughts on the Up Smash? i find it a bit hard to use sometimes because the wind blows people by

I mean, the thing about his Up Smash, is it supposed to sometimes suck the character in? And yeah, sometimes if they're right beside you (and this is tested with training mode with character jumping), it happened to me when samus was right on top of me, using Up Smash caued the Samus to be blown to the side.

And there's no need to go through any trouble to make anything for me, I was just wondering what you were going to do with it. Now I AM curious of how the Up+B will turn out to be like, after reading what you just said.

And about that Side+B thing, I actually dont know if you should keep that big earthquake effect. Because after constantly spamming it for a bit, I got a bit dizzy with all the shaking. And I'd imagine that if someone spammed this during a 4 player match, some of the player might get a bit frustrated. I'm not sure though, this is just an opinion.

But yeah, that Up Smash thing, was the wind intentionally added? And what was it supposed to do?

no the link's for testing link (hmm... no pun intended? xD). But yeah, it's like a preview of Kyzon, just to see his progress with it so far =]
It's pretty good in my opinion, a big step up from the last version.

Edit: I cant seem to stop myself from wanting to double jump up and then down lolz. It makes it look like he's doing some crazy attack.

Yea its my progress since last release.. i'm showing you guys only here since you're all reliable :)

and yea it was supposed so suck people in while it charged since the hitbox is awkward.. idk if i should make the hitbox more conventional and take away the wind or what yet... it works "ok" but not as good as it can imo.

hmmm i can see if its possible to only make it earthquake when it hits or something... or take it out all together.. less code means i get to add more :)

Yeah when the Side + B lands, the pause on the opponent already makes it look good, but i'm not sure what kind of look you're going for with the attack, but it's worth a try. But making it only appear when it lands isnt bad either, since it doesnt look like it'll be that easy to land that hit. It does seem to fly a lot farther in the air as well.

Hmm, it does sound like a pretty good idea if you could get it to work. I already liked it without knowing that it sucks characters in, because of how it looks like it'll turn out to be when you fix the hitboxes.

oh what do you think of the up tilt since i'm thinking about it..

i believe i have 6 hits in there.. but i'm not quite sure.

Oh and of course the Forward throw... that and the Up are my Fav Throws now.

i have to tweak the charging wind sometime...
also the Up B sucks people in as it Charges too

it's actually pretty nice, multiple hits with the side of his hand holding the 3 blades, then the knock off with his other hand. And from the sounds I hear, I counted about 5-6 hits, though i'm not too sure.
And the forward throw is pretty good. It only makes sense to have more knockback on that due to the delay. Or (not sure if it's possible), were you planning on adding damage to the slashes? (like 1% each slash, but then you'd have to cut back on the knockback as well, since it's a grab).

I really like the wind idea. Maybe making some small wind/gust effects on the bottom could help as well. Because visually, you should, if you can, try to make it so that newcomers would understand what it does more quickly, or easily. Like the little gust effect under his feet after a Up Smash. Except making it look like it's going inwards. I really dont know what's possible and what's not. But i'm not saying that you have to do this either, because the moves are already good the way it looks even without it.

Oh the Forward smash is that way because its supposed to be kinda like in cartoons or animation when someone is attacked so fast the effect takes a little bit to show up. so all of those together are supposed to equal 13 *fav number* which is why it does 13 damage.. but the knockback is going to be fixed.. i was thinking that too when i was playing and not killing people with it at like 150 %

It actually looks pretty cool with the hits showing up too.  both versions are pro in my book.. in future updates i'll probably let people see with and without. but either way 13 damage is what it will be doing..

hmm i do need the small wind effects.. like on Ganon's UpTilt.
and to add lag to the grounded down Up B..

DownB overall in my opinion has been almost perfected
just have to make it hover when used in the air... if it doesnt already

yeah using something like ganon's effect should work nicely. and yep, down B just probably needs its hitboxes fixed mostly.

And I think I know what you mean with the forward grab effect. Either one actually works pretty well. I'm really looking forward to what you're going to put into the neutral B move. =]

kyzon i tryed the new test... outdid urself

1) go to training, put slowest speed, and do fthrow, its looks sooooo cool.
2) r u gonna do somthin special for AirdownB
3) love the matrix throws
4) i can now go down, under, and over final destination and battlefield with link  (never thot id see the day :af:)

the AirDownB may be staying the same butttt.. never know what i'll do. i've been on a roll lately..  next is figuring out the projectile Neutral B for me though.
the only thing set in stone for that is the Animation... and.... final smash :)

Dude, a couple hours ago I tested your 0.5 version, one I've heard so much about =P

It was definitely interesting: that U-Smash looks completely sick especially =D The F-Smash looks amazing too.

For the F-Smash tho, if you want, you can use trajectory 365: it has hitstun, but no knockback, so you can pack on the combos. ^-^

And yeah, that Side-B is soo broken XD

and hmm... seems i have an extra attack i didnt notice....

now to do something with it... if you angle the F-Smash Down you'll notice that there's no hitbox :P

JUST found that out..
also Angling Fsmash Up gives you the third Hit Immediatelly w/out the combo

thx but i kinda dont like the recording. i finally got rid of the hhuuugee lag, but now there are tiny lags in the video like every minute. it kinda pisses me off. i wanna see if i can fix it.

college started again, but I did some testing/playing around with Kyzon, and I seem to have run into a small bug. I was playing in the Shadow Moses island stage and I did Down+B with Kyzon on the bottom half of the stage, while standing on the platform that you can go through, when Down+B breaks the wall and the floor disappears, Kyzon seems to freeze on that spot until he is hit. Though i'd bring this up. Great job on the character though =]
But the side+B thing can still constantly shake the stage if someone keeps spamming it though.

Hmm thanks.. i thought i fixed that on the Side B.. hmm i'm being swamped with college too but i'll have that looked at with the next release.  also it will have some balancing fixes (making the teleport punishable).. and Down B should be fixed too by then

i'm just about to add two new things into my SD card, but the first thing that comes into my mind is that maybe his side B should have a little bit of delay (just a bit) after it's used before you can move again. and making it so that it doesnt shake the entire map would be a good addition to that. but that's pretty much all I can think of for now. havent gotten that much of a chance to play brawl since school started =/

I was going to edit my post about some delays on neutral B as well, but yeah. sometimes it does feel like you can use it over&over when there's 4 players on the stage. but that's not always the case either.

the main problem i've heard that has to do with the Neutral B is that once he starts Rolling he's nearly impossible to stop.
so hitbox problems i guess..
i'm thinking of making the Side B go into Helpless fall when used in the air..

I heard that someone was working on an upgrade to psa that will help shrink file sizes. so i'm going back to that link when that comes out so i can keep his file down.. his is still about 60kb over the guestimated psa limit. and i havent been able to make him any smaller..

hmm, i'm in the middle of doing homework (1/2 procrastinating since i'm here lolz), but i thought i'd mention that maybe you should add damage during the grab where Kyzon does a lot of slashes, instead of after. this is because it's very likely that you'll be interrupted if you're playing with 3 other opponents.

Just watched the videos with Kyzon. The only thing that bugs me a bit is the three sword thing on one hand. Doesn't look very natural. Other than that though, I love the attack animations, but teleport looks CHEAP! lol

One thing that i'm going to have when the new version comes out is the swords retracted when you're not attacking. oh and the teleport is cheap still for now. but i'm going to give it alot more lag so it cant be spammed anymore. maybe make it directional. idk yet

yeah, maybe adding more lag at the end of side+B is a good idea. and maybe the strength+knockback of this attack should also be relative to the amount of ending lag you put on it

and when you mean retracking the swords, do you mean the 3 swords will only appear as one sword unless you're attacking? =x

Hmm so you think the Teleport shouldn't have the set knockback  that it currently has?
to my knowledge unless you sweetspot you will probably never kill with that

well, if it does have a lot of delay at the end so that it cant be spammed, then the character could be very vulnerable if it missed or if the person uses a shield (omg shield breaker just came into my mind lolz). when it becomes that vulnerable from the move, it probably isnt worth the risk of hoping for a sweet spot. to be honest, i didnt even know it had a sweet spot until just now =x

but yeah, in my opinion, the knockback & damage should depend on how long you make the delay after the attack.

but yea i'll work on that move and add some shield damage.  Hmmm whats your opinion on the neutral B?  from what my cousin tells me, its super cheap in free for all brawls.

i dont think i've ever hit anyone with the sweetspot. if i did, then it probably wasnt that noticable to me, especially if it's an electric effect when sweetspotted.

lolz yeah neutral B hits like, everyone if they're all together. then you could immediately do it again. if you planned on changing it, maybe you could make it look like it slashes out one of his energy blades, and give it the same attributes as a boomerang (the energy blade spinning after the slash). i read somewhere in this forum that you can swap items or something, i'm not too sure if it counts here, but i think it's called Smash Box. Then what you could do is add that same effect that Neutral B already has for Kyzon, if the opponent hits the spinning energy blade (the electric effect) &knock them towards the direction the spinning blade is going. And of course, have the blade come back to you after the move. (limit the damage to this as well, unless you make it a charge-up move)

I'm just putting out a random idea here though lolz. I'd give more thought to it all, if I wasnt so stressed about my homework right now. But maybe smash box is something worth looking into, if it does what I think it does =]
