Title: Kingdom Hearts Sephiroth V.1.3. Applied many adjustments, all glitches fixed. :)

After watching videos of Sephiroth, I was thinking, Hey!! I can make this!!!....and here it is.
I tried  to  make his animations to be more Sephiroth-like. Yet, I still need time to create his appropriate Smash attack animations and his Air attack animations, It took me 4 days to make v.1.0, since I had to focus on school work. Moreover, I can greatly improve version 1.0 with constructive feed back. So, if you desire a perfect Sephiroth PSA, please give only constructive feedback. Irrelevant feedback will be disregarded.


I have referenced this video for his moveset.

His fall speed should be somewhat slow and floaty, like Melee Mewtwo's.

Weak Attacks:

A Combo
Sephiroth performs a series of attacks with his sword combo. The last strike of this will be the only one with significant knockback.

Up Tilt
Sephiroth swings his sword to shoot out some rather weak air blades diagonally up. This will play very similarly to the CoN Naruto PSA's Kunai attack. Marth's Up Tilt animation would work well for this.

Down Tilt
Ike's Down Tilt would probably be fine, as long as the range in increased.

Maybe kind of like Marth's.

Smash Attacks:

Forward Smash
Sephiroth performs a slash similar to Link's Forward Smash animation.

Up Smash
Pretty much the same as Ike's, just faster and weaker. Fast enough so that his Up Tilt can sometimes set the opponent up for it. with a new charge animation

Down Smash
Sephiroth holds his sword up and stabs it into the ground. Very similar to Ike's Neutral B, even the animation can be the same. But instead of fire, there can be that green lifestream stuff, with bits of earth/rocks cracking up, kind of like this:

Specials:

Neutral B
Sephiroth summons a meteor that shoots diagonally down. The longer you charge, the greater distance the meteor travels.

Forward B: Shadow Flare

Maybe something like Zelda's Forward B. You will control a little shiny thing, but when you let go, it will explode into shadowy spheres. You have full control over the Dark Orb, works exactly like zelda's side B special. It took me forever to get it to work (4 hours and over 1000 lines of code)  :-\

Down B
Sephiroth summons a giant pillar of fire around him. The longer you charge, the more pillars there will be, with a maximum of three (the second pillar will be in front of him, the third will be in back). These pillars pull the opponent toward them and keep the opponent trapped for a second or two while burning him (like Ness' PK Fire).

Down B in Air: Shoots Meteors downwards from the sky.

I'm not a specialist about Sephiroth, so I won't probably spend so much time on this topic. But I have one great question, why didn't you put Super Nova attack? It is a Sephiroth attack if I recall correctly, and this is an attack that is very famous for him I think, so why didn't you put it? You can put it for example as a final smash!

Simply because I didn't want to copy Hollow's Sephiroth PSA. He already used Super Nova as a final smash. :/   but the meteor works well. :)

Yup. All I had to do was set x offset on bone 41 = 20.



lemme know if you guys find any bugs in the psa that I haven't found lol

Ok see you later, if I have time I will try to test your Psa and see if there is any bug. I say you now, this Psa doesn't really interest me, but I know some people will probably be interested with it, close to me or not close so maybe I can help!

I have some feedback... I feel he runs too fast, his air mobility is far too good, and having 6 jumps is over kill...

Moving on to attacks, most of the moves are still Marth's, same range, same sweet spot, like forward tilt, dash attack, and all aerials except for forward air... And, even the new moves have that sweet spot... Making them too powerful, like forward air... Also, that move is too fast, you can gimp characters without much problem.

Okay, on to the other new moves.

Jab attack... Seems a little choppy, plus... Sephiroth shouldn't punch you... I would change this, it feels wonky anyway... If you keep it however, it should have end lag.

Up tilt... Hm... It doesn't seem to kill with the projectile part... But it is a little spammy... Maybe make the damage a little less, and give it a little end lag.

Down tilt... Could use end lag.

Up smash... Hm... Does too much damage, I can do 21 damage sometimes with it... This needs to be down toned.

Forward smash... The first hit is a spike... So, use it on a foe trying to recover, and they can kiss themselves goodbye.

Down smash... Has too much range, plus the graphics stay for too long, it could have some start up, and end lag honestly...

Up special... Not any different except for the graphics...

Side B... I really like the idea with this move, but it has a lot of problems... The hit box could be smaller... And the worst part about it, you can mash Side B, and basically... Spam a lagless attack, and if you do this in the air, he rises upward, and if you stop, he freezes in place... You need to fix this somehow... On the ground, it's broken, in the air, it's glitchy.

Neutral B... Hm... On the ground, it seems alright, in the air... It's kinda odd... It makes his already insane recovery even better... Maybe he shouldn't be able to use it in the air?

Down B... Broken, it comes out too quick, has no start up, or end lag on the ground, plus the flames should be around him, not in front of him, and in the air, you can stay there for as long as you want, and spam it as your foe tries to recover, or worse... In a battle with a time limit, you can make one kill, jump up to a place where your foe can't reach you, and spam that move... You win.

Final smash... I like Hollow's a lot better...

Why can he hit you sometimes while walking? It just seems odd...

Over all, it needs a lot of work, animations are kinda choppy, and the balance is not great...

Sorry if I sound harsh, but I just think he needs work, heck, maybe work with Hollow and make a perfect Sephiroth? I don't know. XD

One last thing, he froze randomly when I taunted one time... It hasn't happened again, but I thought I should tell you anyway.

i did the side b move in the air a couple of times and when i touched the ground i was frozen in place. and then once i got hit the game froze.

Yup... Both of those happened...

Yeah, Sephiroth freezes in more then his taunts, he just randomly freezes out of nowhere...

Data Drain said most of what I wanted to say already.  This definitely needs a later release to iron out the glitches, oped moves and generally poorly presented moves at times.  But here's my contribution to feedback:

- Firstly, let me say I really like the walking animation.  It's very smooth and fluid however the hitbox at the end is actually rather annoying.  It means that he can just stop a lot of attacks in its tracks just by walking (since the hitbox by the looks of it has pretty good priority).

- This actually brings me onto the general mobility of the character.  He is WAAAAAAAAAAY too fast on both the ground and in the air.  He goes faster than MAX Onslaught in the air.  All of the movement speeds and the air mobility need to be toned down A LOT.

- The Down B is insanely strong.  Largely because it lasts forever until you release a button.  And if the foe is stuck in the middle of it, it is difficult to escape from.  I managed to deal 115% damage to a lvl 9 CPU with this move alone.  

- The Waiting animations are really static.  They really need a bit more movement otherwise he just looks like a bit of a lifeless statue when standing still.


You see, there's a lot to take into account when making a balanced PSA.  It's a far more intricate and delicate process than making an overpowered PSA ;)

 ^ Very good. You've provided the best feedback so far. I can easily fix this.

and yeah Sep is known to punch. About the final smash, initially, I was going to use super nova but I didn't want to make it seem like I copied off Hollow's PSA.

OH! i see what your saying. if you keep pressing side B it is spamable. I never noticed that till now.....the whole time I was like what? lol...I'll get that fixed.

oh your right, in his side taunt subaction it has an goto offset that refrence something that does not exist, so it causes the game to freeze. lol...I'll upload version 1.4 soon. with a fixed side B special and taunt fixes.

He also froze at random... It looked like he either got hit... Or was just standing there... I'm not sure what it was, but he freezes a lot, once you iron those out, I can test him better... Say... his down air could be what Hollow has, except better balanced, Hell's Gate from Dissidia... Look up some Dissidia videos for ideas on some moves, after all, Dissidia Sephiroth had moves from KH...

And Hollow... You two should work together, you two could make a really good Sephiroth together.

Dear god.... He wasn't bluffing. there has to be at least 500 lines for the shadow flare move.....
I could never put that much coding into a PSA.

THAT, would be cool, because there's some moves Hollow made that I like, however, I'm growing fond of some of the ones you made...

Oh, down tilt should only spike when your opponent is really close to you, and the spike should be weaker, it seems like a good killing tool right now... But... Most down tilt spikes don't work like that, so... Yeah, make the farther part of the sword knock them away at a slightly upward angle.

Edit: His forward smash is kinda hard to use... Maybe it should be a slow one hit like Hollow's?

Also, his forward smash... I didn't notice there was a up and down version... It works like Marth's, except it has a spike?

Yeah, his forward smash attacks will be changed with new animations. I plan to have it be horizontal slashes like the way seperioth does in kingdom hearts II....;D

great.  I'll try to go easy on it haha. Before, it used to be hard for me to balance characters because almost every character in my SD card are OP, so I took off some of the OP character and tested my Sep PSA on balanced characters. so far, I still get beat by regular wario lol

Just make sure the sound ID matches normal Marth... I don't want another case like Mewtwo going "HUAG" over and over again... This way, normal Gecko users can use him too.

yup, I just got done fixing up some animations with that new brawl box you told me about....Me and Hollow are gonna work on our version 2. and then combine it as a final version 3. ....I think he agreed to it. not sure. lol

Box modset 4.2 is more than just helpful, but be careful when you make animations, the file will want to attack you if you edit it wrong....

B: I was working on a diagonal shot Meteor, so we could use your or mine.

Side B: Definitely the Shadow Flare

Down B: Your fire, my fire, or something completely different

Up B:  made a new flying up B, where he rises upward if you don't do anything, so CPUs ca recover, but we could use something else.

Up tilt: Yours.

Down tilt: I made a new animation for my down tilt, now it perfectly goes back into a crouch.

Oh I see. Well that can be done. BBB is working on fixing my run, walk, wait, animations. I'm working on his octaslash attack for a Forward Smash attack. we can use your ariel attacks.


The moves that I want to keep are:

-Side B special (shadow flare) - Improved it already

-Neutral B special (meteor) -  I have improved mines. :D

-We can probably keep his down B but change it with your fire graphic?

-I fixed up his down Smash animation so that'll be a good one to keep.

-Seperioth will have two final smashs, BigBadBooya's and your super nova. which will vary depending on how much damage seperitoh has.

we still don't have a good down tilt A attack.

UP B in air will be heavens light or yours.

- I added your hells gate move as a down B in air with improved graphics XD

_ I also changed other things that make him more seperitoh like.

Here are the collaborators for a new version 2.0...
1. Divineoverlord
2. Hollow
3. BigBadBooya

All three of us will have to approve the moveset after we're done reconciling the moveset. After, its approved, then we can release it.   ;)

Hm... It sounds like you made some good progress, although, DO, did you make Hell's Gate more like it was in Dissidia? He rises up for enough time to say, "to the Promise Land", after that time, the hit box should appear, also, it should drag the foe down on his sword if he hits them in the air... Unless you already did that. :P

Also, about the final smash... Did you weaken one of them? It would be silly to have two instakills, when it's damage based.

Well, you could have Supernova be a damage-based move that has no knock back.

Well, but see, some moves do have the altered hit box, but yeah, I did notice some attacks having shorter range then they should.

I'll double check the file. All issues will be fixed with version 2.0 ;D

or if you want it now, I can replace the main file with the collisoin bubble reaching to the tip of the sword, yet, I often make the tip damage be less than closer to the sword.

We're around 80% done, It's really just creating new animations. Like OctoSlash, back air attack, down tilt, side tilt, back throw, forward throw. and that's all. All the code work can be done really fast (if I do it).

Hm... I wonder if Reaper can be put in somehow... It's a multi hitting attack that has some end lag... Although it might be over powered for Brawl, I don't know, I'm playing Dissidia right now, and it has a lot of hits...

what you could do for final smash like the kingdom hearts game 1&2 his move sinful harvest which in the game knocks sora into a 1hit kill  of life left and could do that to any of the brawl charas who come contact to him or near you know like metaknights fs or ikes hit contact fs and use sinful harvest on the brawl character and then ko them just a thought thats all :af:

I also have the grab, the flying, the dodges, the gliding, and the wallcling and jump, although it gets rid of a Final Smash fo some reason nobody knows.

Erm... Sin Harvest is a misheard Heartless Angel, people thought Lance Bass said Sin Harvest... Although it wasn't the poor guy's fault that they added too much echo to his voice... Sorry for rambling.

Hm... Wall running could be really cool if done right, more balanced then infinite wall clinging at least. :P (That was something that got on my nerves... I'm not trying to sound mean though, but that wall cling is annoying when a CPU uses it, and never gets off the wall.)

I think as long as it's limited somehow, it would be a pretty fun trick, I can picture him running up the side of Yoshi's Island Brawl... I would hope there's a limit on how long he can run up the wall.

I'm making adjustments, it works like his side B. but its a lot more restricted in terms of y-axis movement, after using it he will go into a helpless state for balance. which is great. I also have the Down A in air to be hells gate which can be interuppted in you let go the A button :)

Hm... You shouldn't be able to interrupt Hell's Gate... That was one of Sephiroth's laggy HP moves, it has kill power, but is easy to miss with, and, leaves him wide open after the move is done...

I made some revamps of what I sent you. I'm close to done.


Revamps on animations?....I think the PSA is basically done, I adjusted several issues and now just waiting for BBB to finish some animations to add to it.

Erm... Sin Harvest is a misheard Heartless Angel, people thought Lance Bass said Sin Harvest... Although it wasn't the poor guy's fault that they added too much echo to his voice... Sorry for rambling.

Hey, I asked in the mythbusters thread if running up walls (like in Dissidia) would be possible, and they seemed to think so. Do you think this would be better than the wall-clinging that he has? I wonder if it's possible to do both.
I could do it with proper animations and a bunch of coding, but it's possible.

Hm... Wall running could be really cool if done right, more balanced then infinite wall clinging at least. :P (That was something that got on my nerves... I'm not trying to sound mean though, but that wall cling is annoying when a CPU uses it, and never gets off the wall.)

I think as long as it's limited somehow, it would be a pretty fun trick, I can picture him running up the side of Yoshi's Island Brawl... I would hope there's a limit on how long he can run up the wall.

Ah the one flaw of this kind of PSA collaboration XD Sending the files back and fourth so that you can keep testing it and stuff.  That's one of the reasons I like to fly solo (since I like to go at my own pace).

Yeah, that's true, I should have used google docs or something, that eliminates the need to email files back and forth...hmm maybe I can use your help. I'll admit sephy was kinda hard to try to balance since his sword is so long (reaches a range of 30 on the x-axis in every attack). Right now, I'm just waiting for Hollow's review again XD

Yeah, agreed, low damage, good range, low knockback (Hard to get KOs)

His start up should be pretty good though, but I think his end lag should be really bad.

Wow.

I was just looking around this morning to try and sort out a problem with that FF7 stage and somehow stumbled across this.

This is awesome! I use Hallow's Seph for a while, which is great and all (especially the impale grab) but I thought some moves were meh. I know it's kinda LATE for any suggestions, so I'll just leave my noobish feedback till after you release it. I read through all of this and you seem to be putting together the right stuff from your PSAs though and I personally cannot wait to see it!
