Title: Olimar's helmet
Post by: DrPanda on March 26, 2011, 08:30:05 PM
Just wondering if it's possible for Olimar's Helmet to be made opaque?
If it is, would anyone care to enlighten me before I start work on Petey Piranha's head?

I belive it should be. The texture has alot of black on it, which becomes alphated. Make it not-black. And it should be opaque.

It may not be as simple as that though. Try to match up the variable numbers and parameters of the helmet with one of his solid textures.

I tried matching up the material parameters for his helmet to the ones on his body and changed the texture to a block red colour... Still no luck :(

I did manage to get it to look a bit less see-through, but it still isn't completely opaque.

It's definately possible. I'm assuming the bomberman over olimar hack used the helmet in some way, and therefore woule need to be opaque.

I looked through a lot of the popular Olimar vertex hacks and none of them use the helmet at all (bomberman included)

This (http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=1126) Hack though, it is pretty much the height of "opaqueness" I could find :-\

Yeah it hasn't been figured out yet, to my knowledge. I was trying to figure it out when ShadowSnake was doing Toad. I even asked Mewtwo2000 who knows a lot about materials, but he didn't know.

I'm sure there is a way, we just don't know it yet.

Ok Thanks.
Looks like I'll have to play around myself and see what I get ;)
