Difegue's fabulistic imports and junk

So yeah hi there. You might know me as the newbie to stage hacking lurking the help forum. I don't really have much to say so I'll just get straight about my current stuff. Just one thing: Unless said otherwise, all my imports are based upon Wifi Waiting Room/Final Destination. ;)

Oh yes this is going to be awesome. Tatsunoko has almost all the models I need. I kinda want to make this stage Corneria-like :P At first I wanted to fight on a small ship while the Gesellschaft was flying around Halberd-style, but then I realized the TvC developers didn't give it a back  :notimp:
I find it weird nobody ever did this. The actual stage got imported, but this model needs more love!
I plan on having small Bonne ships flying around with Servbots and Tron sitting around, too...
(I'll probably use BigSharkZ's Tron vertex over Peach.)

I only plan on having Nagato in there for various reasons:

+Haruhi Wii has screwed up character models. Eyes, eyebrows, hair, skirt and body are one mdl0 file each, so I have to import, resize, and place them all together for animating. If I were to have a full character doing something like Hare Hare Yukai it would need thousands of bones to animate  :srs: (althrough I think there are animations for that dance in the original game, dunno how they're stored through) Nagato reading and flipping pages every now and then should be doable...

+The models are pretty detailed and huge. I'll likely break the filesize limit if I get too much of those in there.

+I'll likely have someone helping me on this, but atm if I try to resize the models...

+The game does not have a Kyon 3D model. I personnally think it is preposterous to give that [censored] Koizumi a model but not to  the best character in the flipping series  :>.>: (jkjk) As far as models goes, I actually have most of the main characters(even Emiri!) minus Kyon and Taniguchi. And it's not like this stage is going to be my only import from this game, it has a few more interesting would-be arenas...

I managed to get a Drache in there, but I have to fix a few texture issues... I'll likely put Tron here... I'll add in a second ship for the Pokémon trainers :p

The fact that Brawl's finally getting a Haruhi based stage is amazing enough... but also the Gesellschaft?!?

seems like Nagoto cant be placed properly >.<

no matter where i put the models, and test in game, there's like 3-4 other models that doesnt want to go in place.

3-4 other models? Which ones?
Have you tried putting them in different modeldatas?
Also, check the bone names. I think every model import from haruhi has the main bone named the same way(nwx_root or something), that might be the issue...

By the way, you imported tons of TvC models, right?
Because my Servbots and Draches have lighting issues, they appear dark the first time the stage is loaded, but then appear fine in every other match until brawl is rebooted.
Where could the issue be? :/

I dont believe so actually. Slowdown is caused by a model who wasn't intended for more polygons, and is given them anyways.

Most MMD models stay within the same range as the brawl ones, so there's shouldn't be a issue, but dont trust me on this. I only TALK to the guys making it, and I truly have no ideas about it. XD

to get the box to show... its part of its VIS0 file, so that will have to be included and edited.

I'm having shadow issues with the Gesellschaft :( Basically, every model I import from TvC has shadow issues. ah i see.... its just cause of the stage lighting.

and TvC modeks]ls never have back sides to them cause the game doesnt show them at all, so thats y.

It does that with the MShadow and without, except that with them it still does the changing shadow thingy

I'm trying out a bunch of scenedatas right now  :af:

edit: apparently scenedatas have a variable number of light nodes, according to M2000's lighting tutorial. Maybe the WWR one didn't have enough :>.>palm: I guess I'll have to edit some values in the Skyworld scenedata and see if it influences the models' lighting somehow...
Basically, every TvC model that isn't the Gesellschaft or the background has this issue  :srs:
The MShadow models not working kinda pisses me off, even though it's not the most necessary thing ever >.>

I have to fix his srs face, stretch him up and animate him a bit more, then he'll probably be with that Servbot with the flashlight so you can see him well >.>
Also he has two hand models so I have those to delete too, didn't notice it before but TvC models have all their articles in the same model and make the polys visible depending on the situation ingame, it's horrible for hacking  :srs:

It's pretty much done. I only have to fix a few models, have someone help me with this god damn lighting and fixing the background textures. M2000 hasn't replied to me about the lighting yet, maybe I'll just leave it like that...  :-[

If I have to re-hex everything I'm releasing it as-is >.<

There's also that texture issue on the background islands, but I'll try to fully import the original .brres in and see if it works...

Okay, so I tried my hand at getting 3D models from NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams...

Let me explain:
The models for the characters are in .brmdl format, which is pretty much .mdl0.
However, when I rename them to .brres and hex them, they lose their texture indexes, which means they stay textureless forever. Besides, the textures themselves are in .brtex format, which means I also have to rename those to .brres and hex [censored].

So still, characters could go nicely.
However, the stages(and that's what I wanted) are in .one files. wuttt?
.one files are actually multiple .brmdls packed together.
And a stage has multiple .one files.

So if I wanted, say, Bellbridge, I'd need to extract around 2 models per .one file. Knowing there are like 15 .one files for one level of the stage, since the game apparently breaks the stage by levels...

madness.

well i looked into it deeper in HxD... and there r indeed multiple brres files. but wats more creepy, is that it shows the heading of where u have the files. Also, tried to change the formula, then save it as a brres file, and wouldnt open at all. so NiGHTS is a very... confusing piece of work. also, there's no signs of any bones either with some of these models... I also put 1 of the files in 404Error's brres model separator, and still same thing, wont open.

^ same (well dolphin does work for me but major lag since it cant handle Brawl, or any other wii game)... but it can play Melee nice and smooth.

They certainly aren't uncompressed BRRES files. I'd guess that they use some kind of compression, then throw them all into one file.

The .one header may tell where the individual files are in the .one?

I finally managed to import one of those models perfectly. Given, I kinda cheated and used a no-skirt outfit so I have one less model to work with but still, the school uniform wouldn't fit the stage anyway.

idk about the hair, through. It took me some trial and error to get it placed correctly, and even right now I'm not 100% sure it looks good. I don't know if I picked the good haircut model, too. X)

Pretty excited to be able to use the loads of touhou models out there, but that's also why I did something that I'm pretty sure didn't have a 3D version yet, so nobody will waltz in and say "oh hai I imported a version which looks 10 times better lulz" :af:

Stage ain't flat anymore.

Yeah, I ported the sucker to Skyworld and resumed work on it. The table is 100% HANDMADE WEEE. I guess I can do some basic stage block building now. I don't think it looked like that in the anime tho, I'll have to double check. Anyways it's just a texture change at worst >_>

Still didn't get the eyes placed right, but that's not hard. Once I have the basic coordinates set, I'll get her sitting on that chair :af:

I also resized the stage, to get it at human size. It didn't make sense to have it in x3 scale, oh the noob errors. ^^
