Title: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 07, 2011, 09:17:24 PM Alrighty, here we go again.. Okay, so, I decided that I would FINALLY put some CSP's over the default ones (Finally got sick and tired of guessing which color was which costume :notimp: ) and I followed the mini guide that was placed in the "The Complete N00B's Guide To Brawl Hacking" which is the following:
Code: CSPs (Character Selection Portraits) Now, i've done exactly as I should which is Replace the default PNG in the "Textures(NW4R)" folder of the Common5.pac file and I saved the common5.pac file into this directory: "(X):\private\wii\app\RSB(X)\pf\system\" Then I inserted the SD card back into the Wii, Started up SSBB via Gecko, everything was running fine.. Till I selected "Brawl" in the "Group" menu. As soon as I pressed A, selecting "Brawl", the deafening long sustained "Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep" was heard. I reset the Wii in hopes of it just being a glitch and tried once more. No luck. I then tried going to the "Training" screen, and the "Beeeeeeeeeeeeep" went off there too. So I presume I am doing something wrong? Can anyone help me in this issue? -The Total Nub. Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TheMTorres29 on April 08, 2011, 12:04:51 AM Make sure you dont have any corrupt files and the portraits are the correct size. I had the same problem before :D
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TheMTorres29 on April 08, 2011, 12:05:19 AM BTW my prob was corrupt files...just sayin
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: DTST on April 08, 2011, 02:47:17 AM Make sure the files are the same size as the one your replacing also if I remember right(I don't use gecko anymore i'v moved to riivolution so I don't remember very well) you need the sel_character for gecko common5 is used for riivolution now
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 08, 2011, 07:07:43 PM I'm sure it isn't anything corrupt, and what is this sel_character you speak of? :o?
Also i'm using the CSP's that come with the character mods (ie. Sephiroth over marth), so i'm sure the size is correct Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: Lethal Blade on April 08, 2011, 07:10:36 PM Use the selcharacter in the menu2 folder, it freezes with common5.pac (for me anyway)
"(X):\private\wii\app\RSB(X)\pf\menu2\" In this directory the sc_selcharacter goes there. Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 09, 2011, 02:03:51 AM I know this may sound noobish but.. What exactly is the selcharacter and where do I get it from? xD;;.. And do I use both common5.pac AND sc_selcharacter.pac?
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: DTST on April 09, 2011, 03:23:56 AM Sel_character has all the textures from the character selection screen. You can find it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=bf68243dc4c908b28d78a0e5552916095d6170349cac00195be6ba49b5870170#zeaiah0s5p7d5,1
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 09, 2011, 02:51:11 PM So would I do the exact same procedure, but by using sel_character instead? (Open Sel_character on BrawlBox and do all the procedures on there)
Also do I use both sc_selcharacter.pac And common5.pac? Or just the sc_selcharacter.pac Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: DTST on April 09, 2011, 04:46:00 PM You can use both if I remember right
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: mnsg on April 09, 2011, 05:40:49 PM The file sc_selcharacter.pac is compressed, so its size will be affected when you replace portraits. Make sure that its size doesn't go over 3.79 MB when using Gecko OS.
Tip: You can adjust the palette of your portrait so that it uses less colors. That can reduce the amount of memory it uses when compressed. Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 09, 2011, 06:23:48 PM Okay so just to clarify.. Do I NEED common5.pac? Or can I just use sc_selcharacter.pac..
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 09, 2011, 06:57:39 PM Okay so, I just tried once more by using the sc_selcharacter.pac method.. I followed this guide:
5. If you are using an sc_selcharacter.pac file (Ex. A custom CSS), you'll have to do the following steps for your CSPs to appear. 6. Open your common5.pac in BrawlBox. Expand "sc_selcharacter_en" and right click on "char_bust_tex_lz77". Click "Export" and save it to your computer. 7. Now open up the sc_selcharacter.pac file you downloaded in BrawlBox. Expand it and find "char_bust_tex_lz77". Right click it and hit "Replace". Find the "char_bust_tex_lz77" you exported from your common5.pac. 8. Save the sc_selcharacter.pac file and put it on your SD Card. I did all that and retried, hoping it would work this time. Still isn't working, going to that annoying "Beeeeeep" whenever I try to get to the Character Selection Screen. Just to make sure it wasn't the card itself, I reformatted it and tried again to no prevail.. Any other thing I could be doing wrong? D: Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 10, 2011, 01:13:54 PM Anyone got anything?
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: nanobuds on April 10, 2011, 02:14:04 PM you probably have a corrupt file or the file is too big. upload the file, and ill take a look at it.
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 10, 2011, 05:38:20 PM Upload which file? @ _@
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: nanobuds on April 10, 2011, 08:36:14 PM the sel_character that u use
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 10, 2011, 09:53:44 PM Oh, it's on the previous page.. Here is the link: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=bf68243dc4c908b28d78a0e5552916095d6170349cac00195be6ba49b5870170#zeaiah0s5p7d5,1
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TheHatMan on April 11, 2011, 06:13:19 AM sounds like corruption to me, your gonna have to Defrag your SD card, and possible get a new save file
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: DocStrange on April 11, 2011, 07:17:50 AM Just to clarify, you're only replacing single portraits right? (i.e. you're not trying to put in an entire pre-made set of portraits)
What you should do is download a fresh sc_selcharacter.pac from the vault. -Find/make some CSPs. If you're going to use pre-made ones they should already be the correct dimensions and their palettes should be the right size, but if you want to make sure follow the next step -If you're making them yourself, open one of the default portraits from sc_selcharacter in gimp/photoshop/whatever (find a portrait, right click, click "export") --Delete the existing portrait and paste in whatever picture you want to use, then resize it to fit. ---(This next part is for gimp, since that's what I use, but I'm assuming it's the same for photoshop) go to mode>color>indexed. That will bring up a window where you can choose how many colors you want the picture to have. I pretty much always use around 150-180, but you can play around until you get it as low as possible while still looking nice. Save it as a png. -Open sc_selcharacter in Brawl Box and click the "+" next to the blue box, this will give you a drop down of a bunch of files that you can expand which hold the CSPs. Find the one you want to replace, right click it, pick "replace" and choose the CSP you want instead. Brawl Box will automatically index the CSP, but if you don't index it yourself it may make it look shoddy. --Go ahead and save your changes to the sc_selcharacter, exit and have a go. Sorry if I'm repeating stuff you know, I just wanted to make sure I gave the whole process that's worked for me. Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 11, 2011, 06:20:41 PM @ GuyWithHat: What do you mean by a new save file?
@ DocStrange: I'm only trying to replace Marth's First costume portrait (default color) with a Sephiroth one and that's it. The CSP is one that I got from a Post made by 'Nanobuds'. I do not make my own CSP's because I know I would just mess it up, lul.. Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TheHatMan on April 12, 2011, 06:12:41 AM By new save file, I mean get a new Game Save for Brawl. Search WiiGameSaves
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 12, 2011, 05:38:36 PM Alright i'll defrag my SD card first and give that a try.. If it still doesen't work, i'll look into this WiiGameSaves
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 12, 2011, 07:36:02 PM Alright well I defragged the card, still no luck.. Could you explain to me what I would do with this WiiGameSave thing? I know it's self explanatory, but as you know I am completely nooby when it comes to all of this..
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: vm19961126 on April 13, 2011, 06:25:43 AM Alright well I defragged the card, still no luck.. Could you explain to me what I would do with this WiiGameSave thing? I know it's self explanatory, but as you know I am completely nooby when it comes to all of this.. search on google, wii saves, go to the first site (I think) from there you can download wii game saves, so for example, you can download a 100% completed brawl gamesave... Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 13, 2011, 03:22:16 PM So your saving I should remove the SSBB game save file from my Wii and just get a new one?
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 13, 2011, 03:52:04 PM Could it also be something to do with my codes? Because i've always had problems with them.. I don't know ANYTHING about what to activate and such. :/
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: Lethal Blade on April 13, 2011, 03:59:20 PM I doubt it's the codes, do you have any other codes then the file patch code?
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 13, 2011, 05:01:38 PM Well, this is what I currently am using.. I don't activate them all, just the ones that seem to make sense to have running..
Code: RSBE01 Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: Lethal Blade on April 13, 2011, 05:06:31 PM I doubt any of those codes would crash the game (but if you're using brawlplus you should activate them all, makes the game more like the actual intended modification). It's the save unfortunetly...
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 13, 2011, 05:10:27 PM Alright so could you run by me how I would go about deleting the data? I mean I got an idea, but I want to do it 100% right so there's 0 chance that I messed up xD;;
Also, how would I get the new save file that's 100% complete? OH. AND. What codes should I have active? Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: vm19961126 on April 14, 2011, 06:36:57 AM first:
does your game also crash without codes and gecko/riivo andstuff, youknow, if you launch it through the disc channel? if so, then download a 100% completed save file from wiisaves or something (google wii saves and you find it) if not, you don't have to get a new save file... and the codes,... I don;t think it realy mattters... try using only the file patch code.... if it crashes, its not the codes your using but the files on your sd card.. Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 14, 2011, 01:48:57 PM Okay so I was able to play Brawl no problem from the wii system menu. So I guess I don't need a new save. As for the codes, I tried only using the file patch code and this is the result (Also, I removed the sc_selcharacter and deleted the folder 'menu2'):
-Went on Cheat Code Manager -Enabled 'File Patch Code v3.5.1 (NTSC-U) [Phantom Wings]' -Went back to Homebrew Channel -Launched GeckoOS -Selected Group -Selected Brawl (No freeze, the Character Selection Screen came up fine) -Selected Marth (Marth has Sephiroth mod on him as well as texture) and a Random character for 2nd player -Hit Start -Screen froze at Stage Selection with the sustained 'beeeeeeeeeeeep' Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 18, 2011, 06:52:33 PM Anyone halp? D:
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TheMTorres29 on April 18, 2011, 07:17:48 PM Then its your selmap then :/
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 18, 2011, 10:36:50 PM selmap?
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on April 18, 2011, 11:36:16 PM selmap? Selmap is similar to Sc_selcharacter.pac. It does the modifications for stage selection. For example: http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m202/antjor_s38/Textures%20Thumbnails/SSSDFB175.png. If that's corrupted, then try deleting it (directory is pf/menu2/sc_selmap.pac). If it isn't there, then I think it was one of the pf/system files (Either common3.pac or common5.pac). Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 19, 2011, 04:26:28 PM See thats the thing.. I don't HAVE a menu2 folder. Neither do I have sc_selmap.pac or the selcharacter one
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on April 22, 2011, 01:36:05 PM See thats the thing.. I don't HAVE a menu2 folder. Neither do I have sc_selmap.pac or the selcharacter one Is that even possible? If it doesn't exist, then try pfmenu2? I think that's the directory. (I use Gecko OS, so I'm just taking a guess.) Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: msp26 on April 22, 2011, 03:36:46 PM the selmap in your common5? that might be corrupted
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TheMTorres29 on April 22, 2011, 04:40:54 PM Ya make sure the pics are the right size :/
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 22, 2011, 06:20:10 PM I am 100% positive the pics are the proper size. And yes, I don't have a menu2 folder or common5 OR selmap.. Should I have one?
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TheMTorres29 on April 22, 2011, 07:41:20 PM Ya u should have selmap for sure
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 23, 2011, 06:12:27 PM Okay so I think i'm just completely f'ed for the setup of my SD card.. What files/folders SHOULD I have? Please list as many as you can so that I can check if I got em or if i'm missing them..
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on April 25, 2011, 12:53:57 AM If you're using riivolution, I would suggest Gecko OS? I don't know how riivolution works, but this is what the directories should be (In Gecko OS, and the private - app part probably won't be there):
sc_selcharacter.pac: X:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\menu2\sc_selcharacter.pac sc_selmap.pac: X:\private\wii\app\RSBE\menu2\sc_selcharacter.pac Common3 + Common5.pac: X:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\system\common3.pac OR common5.pac Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: msp26 on April 25, 2011, 05:56:24 AM (Off topic)
Wait i just realised that you said that you were guessing about placing the csps... http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=1039.0 that should solve the problem Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 25, 2011, 06:24:00 PM @808 Dark: I said earlier that I use Gecko OS I think.. Anyways yeah, I use Gecko OS. No idea how riivolution works. So if I add those files then should the game not freeze at the Stage Selection Screen? Also, what is the difference between common5.pac and common3.pac?
@msp26: What? No I know where the file goes lol, when did I say I was guessing about placing the csps? I'm putting the picture of Seph (100% it is the proper size) over the slot of default Marth, which is "marth1_big.tga" I believe. Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on April 25, 2011, 08:43:38 PM Common5 is for Icons (Apparently also for sc_selmap, but idk), and Common3 is for Items. Anyway, delete common5.pac (or back it up, but that's besides teh point). Then create a new folder named menu2 in the pf folder. Then move all CSPs to sc_selcharacter.pac (DL: http://www.mediafire.com/?w3z2czzj4t5) and sc_selmap isnt needed to play, it will just load the normal one (but if you want it: http://www.mediafire.com/?zmlmmymadzm), then take out the _en part. Put it in the menu2, and it should work.
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 25, 2011, 10:04:05 PM Wait, is it in the Same menu2 folder? Because on the previous page you said there were TWO seperate menu2 folders..
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on April 25, 2011, 11:31:49 PM Well, after RSBE, there is a pf AND a pfmenu2. For pfmenu2, all I know is that mu_menumain.pac and sc_title go there, and at the time I assumed you were a Riivolution user :kdance:
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 25, 2011, 11:56:17 PM Okay you've gotten me completely confused.. pf and a pfmenu2?
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on April 26, 2011, 12:08:29 AM Just ignore pfmenu2 for now. It doesnt matter unless you want to change the title or MENU around. The CSS and SSS (Where you select the character and stage) is in RSBE/pf/menu2. I know it seems confusing, but it isn't after a while. the sc_selcharacter and sc_selmap goes into the menu2 inside of the pf folder. So ignore the RSBE/pfmenu2. From here on, I'll make pf/menu2 -> menu2 and pfmenu2 -> pfmenu2. Ok?
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 26, 2011, 04:25:53 PM And in the pf/system I have just the common5.pac, is that alright?
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 26, 2011, 04:46:45 PM Okay so here's the thing Now. I now have sc_selmap and sc_selchar in this directory:
H:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\menu2 And I have the common5.pac file in this directory: H:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\system I am using all default files (fresh common5.pac, sc_selchar, sc_selmap) and am NOT using any custom CSP's. I have ONLY the file patch code active via cheat code manager, and am using Gecko OS. It has come to my attention that I believe one of my Stage mods were corrupted. The only things that I have modded are Sephiroth over Marth, and a bunch of songs. I am currently redoing the CSP procedure to see if my suspicions were correct. The game has been running fine with just the Sephiroth over Marth mod. Let's see if it will with the CSP on there as well Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 26, 2011, 05:07:21 PM OKAY. The CSP of Sephiroth now shows up at the Character Selection Screen over Marth's default color. The game does not freeze at the Character Selection Screen, but as soon as I hit start, it freezes at the Stage Selection Screen. I have NO idea what could be causing this as I do not have any stage mods anymore (deleted them all). What could be causing this? x_X
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on April 26, 2011, 08:47:49 PM Try deleting common5.pac? just to be sure. Also, I dont think its a stage mod. If your running only the File Patch, then it might be common5. Just delete the system folder? Cuz the only time I use the system folder is for item hacks. If its a stage mod, it usually freezes when you actually load the bad stage (well, for me anyway)
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 26, 2011, 10:13:35 PM Yeah but doesen't the CSP require the common5.pac file?
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on April 26, 2011, 11:41:46 PM I use just a sc_selcharacter/sc_selmap and im fine
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: vm19961126 on April 27, 2011, 09:56:48 AM Yeah but doesen't the CSP require the common5.pac file? I think you missed a point lol, The sc_selcharacter is needed to use CSP's BUT because you put the sc_selcharacter in a different folder, the common5.pac is just useless:P and if you didn't know, the sc_selcharacter is IN the common5 Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on April 27, 2011, 10:04:16 AM I think you missed a point lol, The sc_selcharacter is needed to use CSP's BUT because you put the sc_selcharacter in a different folder, the common5.pac is just useless:P and if you didn't know, the sc_selcharacter is IN the common5 Actually, I knew that it is in there, but I noticed when I downloaded MasterLinkX's Custom Pack, I didn't see a common5.pac. Also, I dont use the system folder at all (I dont like how Items can lead to disastrous effects so theyre off all the time). I don't include system and it works fine for me all the time, minus sc_selcharacter being oversize. Also, about what you were saying, moving sc_selcharacter to menu2 makes it useless Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 27, 2011, 04:57:47 PM Well I deleted common5.pac, and i'm STILL getting the Stage Selection Screen freeze
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on April 27, 2011, 07:22:05 PM Try deleting sc_selmap? If it still freezes, then it either a stage mod, or could be something else. Try backing up and deleting folders one by one until the SSS starts to work, then you have ur problem.
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 27, 2011, 08:06:26 PM Ah man, I really don't want to have to go through all that.. And as I said earlier, I have no mods what so ever, other then the Sephiroth over Marth mod and the CSP over Marth. That is it. Nothing else.
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on April 27, 2011, 08:36:40 PM So, all you have is the file patch code 3.5.1 and a menu2 folder? Nothing else? Other than the sepiroth csp, idk whats going on. try using a different sepiroth csp? idk. if it works without hacks, then im not sure.
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 27, 2011, 08:58:46 PM Well of course not just a menu2 folder.. In my pf folder, there are the following folders:
fighter menu2 sound stage (currently nothing in this folder) Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on April 27, 2011, 09:17:57 PM umm... try backing up each one then delete it. one of them might be the cause (just a guess)
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 28, 2011, 09:01:53 PM Uh, how would I go about 'backing' them up..
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on April 28, 2011, 09:54:27 PM Copy them from your sd card then move them to your internal hard drive then delete the original copy
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: vm19961126 on April 29, 2011, 08:47:40 AM Actually, I knew that it is in there, but I noticed when I downloaded MasterLinkX's Custom Pack, I didn't see a common5.pac. Also, about what you were saying, moving sc_selcharacter to menu2 makes it useless no, moving the sc_selcharacter to menu2 makes the Common5.pac useless... -_- maybe not the entire thing, but the sc_selcharacter that's located in the common5 becomes useless if you have an sc_selcharacter in the menu2 file :P Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on April 29, 2011, 10:14:41 AM no, moving the sc_selcharacter to menu2 makes the Common5.pac useless... -_- yeah i knew that =.=maybe not the entire thing, but the sc_selcharacter that's located in the common5 becomes useless if you have an sc_selcharacter in the menu2 file :P Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: DocStrange on April 29, 2011, 10:39:19 AM And as I said earlier, I have no mods what so ever, other then the Sephiroth over Marth mod and the CSP over Marth. That is it. Nothing else. I would just re-download those things, format your SD card and put the newly downloaded files on there. Sounds to me like something is or was corrupt and could have messed up your card, but reformatting should fix it. Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 29, 2011, 09:04:27 PM Re-download what things?
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: Lethal Blade on April 29, 2011, 09:10:16 PM The ones that are in the quote above your post...
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 29, 2011, 09:47:11 PM Oh, i've done that before already.. And this is like the 3rd time i've formatted my SD card now..
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on April 29, 2011, 11:52:26 PM try using masterlinkx's custom pack (format it sd card first), get gecko os, and try changing the csp to sepiroth.
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on April 30, 2011, 05:47:25 PM Is there really nothing else I can do? No one has a for sure answer as to whats going on? I've already tried reformatting the SD card and redownloading everything, but nothing seems to be working. Are you 100% sure that all I need is the file patch code active? I don't need any other code active in order to have things working?
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on May 03, 2011, 05:23:59 PM And 8o8dark, for the last time, I AM running on Gecko OS x x.. And what is this custom pack?
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: zigheart on May 03, 2011, 10:13:53 PM ur not using a sc_selchar and a common5 r u? they can conflict with each other in gecko. u only need the sc_selchar.pac file and the file patch code for CSPs
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on May 04, 2011, 03:47:47 PM Nope, just a sc_selchar and sc_selmap in my menu2 folder
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on May 04, 2011, 03:50:18 PM Okay so, tell me the files I Do need in order to be able to have stage mods, music mods, character replacement mods (ie. Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: zigheart on May 07, 2011, 03:04:02 AM Okay so, tell me the files I Do need in order to be able to have stage mods, music mods, character replacement mods (ie. Sephiroth over Marth) WITHOUT having that annoying freeze at the Character Selection Screen OR the Stage Selection Screen 1) for stage mods u should only need the .pac file and maybe an rel file if it comes with one 2) music u only need the .brstm file named as the file ur replacing (does not work for pal users) 3) sephi for marth u need the the moveset, animation, and the texture/vertex, (ex. u should have fitmarth.pac, fitmarth0x.pac, fitmarth0x.pcs, fitmarthmotion.etc) the x should be replaced with the costume value u want Code: Marth remember rel edits will not work on pal wii's hope that helps Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on May 10, 2011, 04:34:59 PM @zigheart: Yeah I got that all down, still an error.. No idea what I can do anymore.
@8o8Dark: Sorry bout that, and, what do you mean by using 'riivo with gecko os directory'? Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: Lethal Blade on May 10, 2011, 04:40:38 PM Do you use gecko or riivolution?
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on May 12, 2011, 06:58:52 PM I use Gecko OS
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: zigheart on May 12, 2011, 07:16:19 PM @zigheart: Yeah I got that all down, still an error.. No idea what I can do anymore. @8o8Dark: Sorry bout that, and, what do you mean by using 'riivo with gecko os directory'? u may have a currupted menu try removing the sc_selchar and selmap.pacs see if it fixes it Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on May 12, 2011, 11:12:50 PM When I said Riivo with Gecko OS directory i meant this. http://www.mediafire.com/?8vj8809jx1nc8po (http://www.mediafire.com/?8vj8809jx1nc8po) try running like you would with gecko os, but remove file patch code and alternate file data (if you have). then load it and see what happens? i was just suggesting this to see if it was just gecko os was the problem.
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on May 13, 2011, 11:24:36 PM @8o8Dark: Alright so, I launched Brawl via Riivolution, and everything was running fine, no screen freezes. But the only thing is that the CSP for Sephiroth does not show up. Music works fine (no surprise), But it's just that the CSP for Sephiroth over Marth00 does not show up on the CSS.
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on May 14, 2011, 02:09:10 AM Try modding common5_en or with sc_selchar. Just try.
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on May 14, 2011, 03:00:10 AM Whatcha mean by that?
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on May 14, 2011, 01:05:49 PM Both sc_selchar.pac in menu2 AND common5.pac? Justb try that.
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: KTH on May 14, 2011, 01:44:42 PM sc_selcharacter.pac
sc_selcharacter_en.pac common5.pac common5_en.pac Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on May 14, 2011, 03:27:23 PM @KTH: Wait, does having the _en change anything?
@8o8dark: You want me to put selchar, selmap, and common5 all in the menu2 folder? Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on May 14, 2011, 05:47:16 PM _en is sometimes required for files. Also, just the sc_sel*** go in menu2 and common5 goes in system. try that and see what happens
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on May 14, 2011, 10:26:13 PM Okay so now everything's working Perfect. I guess this means that Gecko OS was f'ed? Or does it mean something else
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on May 28, 2011, 09:29:52 PM Just a quick question about Riivo since no one replied to my last post.. Is there any way for me to change the list of codes that are to be active during the game? Also, what are the differences between GeckoOS and Riivolution?
Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: xZedkiel on May 28, 2011, 10:16:10 PM Riivo supports SFX and a full to change to many games, Gecko limits file replacement to Brawl.
Gecko supports SD Card access during the game, Riivo doesn't let you transfer stages, replays, and pictures. Riivo supports any size SD Card, Gecko only supports 2 GB and down. Riivo in my opinion is better. Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on May 28, 2011, 10:45:05 PM When you say 'Riivo doesn't let you transfer stages, replays, and pictures.'.. What exactly do you mean by that?
And is there any way to change the list of Cheats/Codes that are active during SSBB through Riivo? Or is it a Permanentely set list of codes Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: TotalNub on May 29, 2011, 02:08:05 PM Also, I keep getting a problem with the CSP's.. When I go over the character which has the custom CSP at the Character Select Screen, the game freezes and that 'beeeeeeep' goes off. Afterwards I checked the common5.pac file which has the custom CSP's and noticed that the last two CSP's have differant names then the others. For example, this is the directory:
common5_en > sc_selcharacter_en > char_bust_texlz77 > MiscData[2] (aka Link) > Textures(NW4R) Now there are a list of files which are now numbered except for the last two. It is in this order: 23 24 25 26 At this point, the file names change and the portrait looks all messed up. (The CSP appears black and white) and the number now reads: "Palettes(NW4R)" The last CSP has the file name "(NW4R)" but looks how it should, without the black and white. What could be causing this? Is it corruption? Title: Re: CSP Halp Post by: 8o8 Dark on May 31, 2011, 03:41:02 AM did u restore the csp on brawlbox? it corrupts the cp is it is restored. if you did, that may be why. and basically, riivo is better, with the only downfall i know is the having to restart the wii to see any change.

I guess that's the problem. Thanks
