Title: 112's CSPs [updated at 08/02]
Post by: 112 on June 25, 2009, 02:37:38 AM
HOLY CRAP, I was able to find the time to re-update my CSP collection. This next update will only contain one folder available for download but will combine all the select and battle portraits together. Some of the older portraits have been revamped [and both are available for preferences] to look better. Also, some of the portraits have been edited to have less magenta in them [ex: Tuxedo DDD, Wa-Luigi]

If you wanna preview what I have, click on the link below...
http://s196.photobucket.com/albums/aa3/KO90/CSPs%20and%20BPs/ (http://s196.photobucket.com/albums/aa3/KO90/CSPs%20and%20BPs/) (password required is...  lemmesee)
- if you cannot see the pictures, there are .png files available inside the .zip file.

To DOWNLOAD the .tgas, please go to this link: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?5mmzgymhdft (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?5mmzgymhdft) and click on CSPs.

-------------------------------------------------
UPDATES [6/26]
- Added Wario CSPs & BPs
- Added new set: "BPs from other CSPs": Basically, the portraits made by others [ex: Marvin, Lord Khanti, etc.] are made into battle portraits.
- Peach2 and Peach6 were mixed up so I fixed this error.
- Lucas3 has been updated with darker hair and splotches removed.
- Marth5 has been updated with less magenta seen on his hand.

NOTES:
- I do not take credit for any of the textures mentioned above since I did not make them, just made portraits for them.
- If some of the files don't go through step2, you'll have to reduce the indexed color.
- Although there are some CSPs available for some characters, it wouldn't hurt to have more options to choose from haha.

Hope you like them and enjoy!  :)

You made two of mine [Shinigami Zelda and Jabba Sheik] and they're AWESOME. I love the quality of all of your CSPs; the full body shots are IMO better than the face closeups. Mind if I put the link to the CSPs in my thread?

sure, go ahead and I agree that full body shots > face closeups but i like to keep them proportional [or close] to their original portraits ^__^

Awesome. I definitely see a thing or two'a mine in there; GREAT shots. I especially like the Lady Bow and Wa-Luigi poses. :D
(That frikkin' Dominatrix Suit Samus is just . . . *,* )

haha I have a couple of CSPs for your textures, they're too good.

If I have the time, I may finally get to Wario and fix some of the CSPs to have less magenta showing [ex: Dominatrix Zamus x__x]

I am not sure if these are compatible with PAL, all I'm going to say is try it.

And if you want the textures, you'll have to do some digging all over the place from this forum to Fit Artifex to Stack Smash. OR you can pm me and I'll send you my pf folder containing the textures ;)

Some of these aren't working with cupash, I'm getting a file too big error.

I was afraid something like that would happen, the best solution that i know of is...

1) open up the .tga file in Photoshop that is said to be too big for CUPASH
2) go to Image --> Mode and then select RGB Color
3) then go to Image --> Mode and then select Indexed Color...
4) When the window pops up make sure the palette is "Local (Perpetual)" and reduce the Colors by 25.

Keep doing this until CUPASH finally shuts up about the file being too big =|

Hope that helps unless you use GIMP in which i don't know what to say.

How do I use these if they're tga files? Dont I need the pcs and pac file to place them in?

Most portraits can be indexed through The GIMP and still work properly.  Regarding the too many colors dilemma, the big portraits should not have more than 72 colors.  However, some portraits may require a smaller palette.

By the way, small portraits shouldn't have more than 32 colors if you're planning on making some.

Nice man! I really want to learn how to get custom stages though...No idea how to do that.

@ BadGuy: you need CUPASH since that takes the .tgas you have and compile them into a common5.pac file which allows you to display custom character portraits in the first place.

@ mnsg: Hmm... I never used GIMP so I wouldn't know :| But in photoshop, the file has 71 color but even after indexing and compiling, it would sometimes reject the .tga file for "being too big". Maybe I should switch to GIMP since I don't have photoshop anymore. Oh and the battle portraits are already made at 31 color but thanks for the tip anyway  :D

@ SpaceNinjaStridez: thanks for the comment but custom stages, I don't do them. Please look elsewhere xD

I keep getting a "private folder" error at Mediafire. Perhaps an issue on my end?

Can somebody give me a quick run-down on what I have to do in order to get CSPs working on the PAL version? Common5_en.pac is actually common5.pac, but beyond there I don't know.

I'm not a PAL user, I just wanted the next HD guide to clear some things up.

You don't use common5 at all; there's some other file (selcharactersomething.pac) that you use.

Is that the only modification? And do I rename it to anything?

That's about the extent of my knowledge on the matter, though if I had to guess I'd say you probably remove the language indicator (i.e. "_en") at the end.
