I'm having this problem! I downloaded [url]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3HIVjhyg8g[/url] the stuff from there and got Homebrew and everything working fine. So I go in to Brawl Select my character and press start then if I stay longer then like 2 seconds on SSS without selecting a stage my wii will freeze and make a weird noise. I got around this problem by setting the random stages to ones I wanted to play and when I get to SSS I immediately hit start. It is a temporary fix and is really starting to bother me because sometimes I want a certain stage but I can't select it :( If anyone out there knows how to fix what I'm going through I would really appreciate it. no one is gonna help u if u act like that :>.>: my guess its a stage that is corrupted.... do you select the same character each time it freezes? sometimes PSAs cause it to freeze at the SSS screen. In the end I did end up fixing my CSS problem... now, I realize your problem is the SSS, but I imagine my method will help since CSS and SSS fall under the same category... So follow the following...
1. Download this Riivolution.. It's Beyond's (formerly BeyondYou) [url]http://www.mediafire.com/?wr2m5x6u4g4casl[/url] Replace the Riivolution folder in the root of your SD card with the one in the download... Make sure that your RSBE01.gct does NOT have Phantomwings file patch code... It can have other codes in it though.... but if it has Phantomwings code, it will freeze... The ReadMe will explain what you need to do. 2. Follow this link... [url]http://smashbrosfiles.blogspot.com/[/url] You'll see "SSBB File Types" in bold yellow letters... right under that it says "Tip", then below that it says "File Types", then below that it says "Tools and Software"... Click the "Show" button next to "Tools and Software".... and download BrawlBox v0.63b.... Chances are your problem stemmed from using v0.63d.... 0.63d messes up the common3 and common5.pac's during file compression. Do that, and see if it works and let me know what happens.. No More Freezing at SSS I stayed on it for 5 mins just because I was that skeptical xD BUT my CSS and SSS are now back to the original. I didn't change or move them in any way what happened there?

On a Side note everything else works Great. Character and Stage Textures, Main Menu BG, Sfx, Songs, Changing Opening Video. Edit: Wait maybe I'm not so positive mine is still called "common5_en.pac" Do I need the "_en"? Edit2: I think it has something to do with the codes. After closer inspection I am no longer able to zoom and turn infinitely when paused and I can no longer record matches longer than 3 mins and it doesn't save their name tag again either. Do you know how to get the codes to work on Riivo? I really need your help I think we are almost there! I also still can't record over 3 mins with tags or zoom infinitely when paused so I really believe the only thing left is codes but Idk how to do it...do any of you?
