Title: WALUIGI TIME!
Post by: MKHT on October 07, 2011, 01:11:25 PM
IT'S-A WALUIGI TIME!!!!

yes that's right no Vegeta just some pure good old Waluigi with a PSA ready for the using

now here is a Video showing what Waluigi can do cos im to lazy to wright up a character bio
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXJwwQU23z4

Moveset

Jab: A swift punch and kick. Does 9% damage.

Forward tilt: He smacks his foe with his tennis racket. Does 12% damage.

Up tilt: Based on how he hits the dice block in Mario Party, he punches the foe with an upward punch, good for setting up the foe. Does 6 to 9 % damage.

Down tilt: His assist trophy attack, except it does not ground the foe. Good for spot dodge punishing. Does 8% altogether.

Dash attack: He does a quick shoulder charge, the hit box lasts for good bit, but the move gets weaker as the hit box stays out. Does 10% at full power, and 5% when the hit box is almost done.

Forward smash: Pretty much a weaker version of his stomp finishing move in Brawl, quick, and has good knock back. Does 15%.

Up smash: This one will make your head spin... No really, Waluigi spins much like his brother. Not a kill move, but fast, and good for air set ups. Does 15% damage.

Down smash: A break dance like spinning kick, the hit boxes lasts a good while, but gets weaker as the move goes. Does 16%, but if the move didn't hit until near the end, 8%.

Neutral air: A double kick, pretty quick, and has little end lag. Does 4%, then 8%, dealing 12% altogether.

Forward air: Very much like Mario's forward air from SSB64, he out stretches his legs, and kicks the foe while spinning a bit. A great spacing move, and gimping move. Does 13% on his body, but if you hit with his feet, 14%.

Back air: A bit like forward air, he kicks his legs back, as if getting a kick start in a swimming pool... This is slower, but has good kill power. If you hit with his upper body, 7%, if you hit with his legs, 16%, however this move gets weaker as the hit box is out, then it's 7%.

Up air: Positioning himself for the move, he clamps his legs together, a great upward killing move, however a bit sluggish. Does 9%.

Down air: A weaker version of his assist trophy air move, this is a GREAT set up move, little lag, and no real landing lag, this move makes a great way to set up throws, and make jumps safer, but it does lack range.Does 10% in total.

Neutral B: WAA! He prepares himself for the attack, then unleashes a mighty WAA, this is sorta like Warlock Punch, but it's a has a little less start up time. But does less damage. Does 20%.

Side B: His trademark air swim, this has super armor that can take attacks up to 10% damage, be warned however anything over 10% will hit you. If all three hits hit, 20%.

Up B: Waluigi, SPRINGS into action *gets hit by a tomato*, this move makes Waluigi spring straight up, at first glance, it seems to only do 1% damage, however, for the first 3 frames, it has a sweet spot on his fists, and much like Luigi's, it really hurts to get hit by this. If you're fighting Waluigi, beware of standing on a platform he's under for too long... He can hit you with this. Unsweetspoted, 1% in some cases, 2%... Sweet spotted, 31%.

Down B: Surrounding himself in a dark aura, and making a “bring it” gesture, if hit in this state, he will counter attack his foe, dealing 15% damage, and good base knock back, this is good to get your foes off you.

Grab pummel: A quick gut punch, does 3% per hit.

Forward throw: He tosses you in the air, and quickly pulls out his tennis racket, then smacks the foe away. Does 10% damage.

Back throw: He puts you behind him, then pushes the foe aside with his hip, does 8% damage.

Up throw: He spins around quickly, then throws the foe straight into the air, a good set up throw at higher percents, and not a bad kill move. Does 12% damage.

Down throw: He throws the foe straight onto the ground, this is a set up through for his aerials. Does 4% damage.

Final Smash: Though the range of the move is short, it can be set up with down air, if it hits, he then does a series of punches and kicks, then finishes things off with a blast... No really, he pulls out a Bob-Omb, and chucks it at the foe. Does 65% in grand total.

before you run off back to your Wii with Waluigi there are things you have to know

what you can find here
Olimar's Pikmin throw, if they attach to Waluigi, might glitch up sometimes...

Snake's C4s if stuck to Waluigi don't always blow him up...

Spicy Curry does not work for Waluigi, he does the animation, but no flames come out of his mouth...

When Waluigi gets a Metal Box, while he behaves like a metal character, his texture does not change, this is looks only.

Waluigi does not flash when dodging, or charging smashes... Again, only looks.

The off screen magnifier shows his feet... Nothing major.

In classic mode, when you win a round, the camera zooms in on his feet... Again, nothing major.

Carrying a crate, or other heavy objects, the animations are a bit odd, but this does not effect game play.

Items that go on his head, are instead held in his hands... Their effects are still activated though.

When thrown, his tennis racket shows up, but only for the thrown animation.

In SSE, he throws trophy stands quickly.

He holds the ray gun, and super scoope oddly, but they work fine.

you want the WAA? then here's the WAA!
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=23028&Moderated=All

for those who want Waluigi but do not want to replace Pit, SonicBrawler has made a port of Waluigi to replace one Penguin,

It's so full of WAAA it BUUUUUUURNS!

But seriously, this is one of the best PSAs out there with some super sexy animations. Glad I could help out by trying the beta and making CSPs.

This sir, is freakin win!  The animations really help to capture Waluigi's wacky as hell character.  Even the fairly small and seemingly insignificant ones.  Stuff like the jump and the waiting animations really stood out for me.  They just fit so well. Beautifully constructed overall.  So much time was spent on this, but it was totally worth it.  Easily the best import model PSA ever created.  Nothing else even comes close (Klonoa is 2nd best imo, but this even far exceeds that).

There are a couple of small nitpicks I have.  A couple of transitions are a bit off.  For example, the Up B's transition to the special fall is a little off and I'm not entirely sure what the Neutral B is meant to convey (is he shouting?).  Also, I don't think the darkness graphic for the rolling dodge is actually necessary.  I think something a little more discrete would be nicer.  But these are quite minor nitpicks from a perfectionist and to be honest, they're presentational complaints that don't really benefit the creators.

But honestly, from first impressions I just have so much praise to give about this.  I watched the video with a fat smile of glee on my face almost the entire time.

This NEEDS a blog post!

Seconded. The masses need to see the WAA.

btw this is also the first Kirby hat PSA :D

anyway you should not have muted Waluigi if someone make a SFX pack for him over pit

ok with the nitpicking, yes i have knida noiced with the Up-B being about out of place, the B attack is ment to be the "WAA" form them BitF comics, the shield roll comes form Mario Strikers Charged Football (Mario Strikers Charged) when Waluigi has the ball he dose well that

and thank you for the feedback ^-^

All right! Finally, some epic WAAA-ness over Pit. Thanks for freeing up my Toon Link slot, I love you forever! :3

Will he STILL work over Toon Link if I use a .rel?

It's gonna be a pain to transfer all my ToonLink stuff over to Pit.

Don't like it? Tough.

Some people don't like Pit and this is a great way to replace him.

Seriously, either you like it or you don't. If you don't, then be on your way.

I prefer Toon Link to Pit. Pit's annoying.

All I said was I have ALL my Waluigi stuff on ToonLink, and transfering stuff over is a pain in the butt.

And besides, even if I could, I CAN'T. The names, the announcer call, the classic mode junk, ALL IN OVER TOON LINK. The only way I could re-do it is I re-do ALL my Brawl Hacks. Sorry, No Thanks.

And if anything, YOU'RE the one getting worked up. I stated my buisness in the very next post. You just decided to be a jerk.

I read the Vegeta title and was a little surprised. But now I'm delighted as hell.

Thanks for putting him over Pit, too. I've been looking for something to replace him for ages. >_>

Fine. Default Topic Dropped. Let's Start Again...

It's good to FINALLY have a PSA for Waluigi, but as much as I hate Pit, at least his moveset is unique. Cheap, but still unique. I would rather have the project remained on Toon Link, as all he is really is the Wind Waker version of Link...which the same exact moves.

Besides, for people who want to get rid of Pit, try EternalYoshi's Sora Hack.

I'm not dissing the finished result in ANY way. Heck, I'm happy it's finally finished. But AT LEAST have to option to keep it on Toon Link, the default character Waluigi was originally over.

Post by: nanobuds on October 07, 2011, 05:48:00 PM
love the moveset!!! been lookin to get rid of pit for a while...

however, i think his first jump is waaay to high. its hard to attack and get combos with it. Also, i just dont like the N-Special. idk why. it just bothers me...

Besides that, i say its perfect. do you guys plan to update it with SFX and an announcer call?

Title: Re: Project Vegeta beta 0.1...
Post by: Segtendo on October 07, 2011, 05:50:00 PM
Tried it a little.
Like Nanobuds said, he's got a high first jump (cuz of his long legs?)
Also, the A jab seems a little slow.
And for a suggestion, use Waluigi's pelvic thrust from Super Mario Strikers for a taunt. That would be amazing :af:
Besides that, good job! I love the BitF taunt :vyse:

I did this the wrong way. No need for you to do the same.

After cooling off, I learned to let nature take its course. Hopefully, somebody with the same situation as me will get around to doing this. Heck, I'd do this myself if I knew how...

good thing the moveset is possible over anyone no Article is used,no External GFX is used
so you can port him over almost anyone(not G&W) and still got the same moveset +GFX

maybe i will try to port him over a other char. ppl dont like maybe diddy kong, jiggypuff or Ike/Marth (for .rel porting to almost anyone)
only maybe i will not doing it if Goku over pit not working as i planed since afew things of Pit´s Articles/GFX i needing  and is not possible over CF but if he works i will give it a try to port WaLuigi

awesome!  I hate Pit and have been trying to find a good replacement for a while.  this is great!  Waluigi is hilarious, the up-taunt is too good XD
only problem moveset wise is I feel like he seriously lacks range.  otherwise i've loved all the moves.   Up throw is a personal favorite, looks great.
just my experience.  amazing work! :D  also the csp/etc. items are really nice.  if he had the voice it'd be perfect.

i love the psa i was just abit disapointed that  the racket was used more  i was expecting side smash to be a racket  hit but congratulations the moveset is amazing  also as a sugestion like sdoom made for spidermen and since pit has alot of models why not make a speech buble for the neutral B? i think it would look amazing and we could see the range of the move  much better xD

yes.
Yes.
YES.
WAAAAAAAAA!

EDIT: So yeah, I attempted to port WAAAluigi, lol, and i tried over d3, mario, luigi, peach, mk, rob, jiggs, marth, and ike. they dont work, but marth freezes the game when the announcer says GO, on MK, a wlauigi appear in T-stance on entrance, yet he still does teh aniation, its hard to explain. jiggs reezes the game when teh announcer says 2. ike and mk work fine, but the fs freezes the game for ike, and the fs doesnt work on mk, and the fs doesnt come back till he dies.

so yeah. should I release it over someone via mk port?

Defiantly gonna pick this up. Just one thing, if you ever update it would you mind making a version that when he dodge rolls he actually rolls and not the darkness effect? And as everyone said, a SFX pack would kick ass.

SFX pack is right now impossible since the PSA is muted so you also have to get SFX IDs back again in PSA at same time you making the SFX pack
it was alittle stupid to remove the SFX IDs in PSA so ppl will have harder with make a SFX pack for him

also nipticking why doesnt he float abit while doing down B in the air?? since marth lucario ike do it every counter character using counter in the air floats abit also from waluigi moveset ike AI sounds perfect i mean side B down B up B and even n-B are similar to how ike uses them just letting you guys know the ike ai might be almost perfect since i saw waluigi doing side B and kill himselft quite a bit

Pit in my opinion was the perfect choice. Almost everyone on the forum dislikes him or dislikes his moveset. So would you consider making a version with him dodging instead of justthe dark effect? And over all I love the moveset so far. It's fun, and unique. A few animation transitions could be better like from Up special to special fall, or the walking animations. i told you i may try later. just get the one over pit. its better anyway. and if you use a gamecube controller, classic controller, or wiimote, use teh alternate file system or what ever it is called.

Whats the alternate file loader?, it sounds just like alternate stage loader.

its basically the same thing, but you can load 2 or 3 different files per character, look it up. this is getting off topic.

no. if you have waluigi, it can load waluigi OR pit.

Yeah, the side dodges are a little weird, I agree there.

And PLEASE, NO CROTCH CHOP... That is so degrading for Waluigi...

good thing the moveset is possible over anyone no Article is used,no External GFX is used so you can port him over almost anyone(not G&W) and still got the same moveset +GFX

But if that's the case, why is the game freezing when I load him over Toon Link?

It's possible to manually remake Waluigi over almost everybody else.

But it requires a lot more effort than just renaming the files.

Than what DOES it require?

Title: Re: WALUIGI TIME!
Post by: Jaklub on October 08, 2011, 12:52:04 PM
You need to manually apply all of the Tabuu and hex fixes to Toon Link authors applied to Pit, then manually copy every single event from Pit PSA to Toon Link - also do the same to attributes. Jab and specials will most likely require more effort from you to work correctly. Then import the costumes and animations properly. And in the end, fix all of the glitches that may have appeared in meantime.

Long story cut short, you need to remake the entire PSA using Pit one as reference.

Will probably work, but there is no warranty, as I haven't seen anybody doing that before.

also, I didn't look into the Pit PSA, so I don't know if what MarioDK says is actually true.

Then of course you have the grab issues which were one of the main reasons why it had to be ported from Toon Link to Pit in the first place.

i mean the moveset is possible since it dont use like Pit´s Bow or any articles/GFXs
i dont mean it is possible to rename the moveset to any other
so if waluigi get ported(not renaming method) over one with no articles and no GFX to replace the whole moveset is possible still for Waluigi

huh, so this was finally released.  man, i remember doing the model swap well over a year ago, good job for not just dropping it.

as such, i found that i missed changing a bone reference, hence why Waluigi held heavy items weird.  it conveniently also fixed the guns being held oddly.  here's the fixed FitPit.pac if you want it.  but it also caused the things that go on his head to be placed at his feet.  not sure why on that one.

i'll see if i can get any of the other things fixed.

Im gonna release yet another port for waluigi, which will be over Ice Climbers(Popo). Expect it to be released in no later than 2 days. The reason I am porting him over popo is because he will have a single series advantage, as for king dedede port you didnt bc king ddd is part of kirby series which if you gave him mushroom icon it would effect all kirby characters. Yeah that is why.

His final smash is good as is.

I also feel move set wise, he needs little to no changes...

At most, a few changes, and graphics, but otherwise, he's pretty much finished.

What I do find interesting though is "why now"?

I mean, there have been about 20,000 hacks on the vault now (loads of mind blowingly amazing ones at that) and out of all of them this one hack is the one that the site as if full character replacement was a new thing.  Granted, the fact that we now have a truly complete port is awesome, but I don't think that's what these sites are seeing.  They're more seeing "Hey look, someone added a new Nintendo character to Brawl!", despite the fact that people have been doing this for ages.

Though I do find it amusing the contrast in comments from Game Informer to Shoryuken.

Now you have no reason to complain about the "lack of attention" you've been getting (you still had no excuse anyway since you hacks and blog posts have been receiving quite a good amount of downloads).

Seriously though, no complaining anymore :P Not even Beyond got this kind of public attention.  I'm happy for you though bro, your PSA work for Waluigi is very impressive.

Quote from: some fella
Who did they mod the Waluigi model onto? That's how these Smash mods/hacks work, right? They basically just reskin someone who exists already. Waluigi's idle pose is really weird and awkward - but I suppose it's fitting since that's what the character is all about. Ryckert is insane for liking this character so much. Out of all the characters to mod into Smash Bros, they wasted time with this loser. Well, I guess it's not possible for these guys to do someone like Mega Man or Cloud, since you'd have to model, texture and rig an original model. Waluigi is a model that's in there already - ripped from a trophy or an Assist trophy or something.
Funny.

This is the problem when hacks get featured by sites.  They get into this delusion that said featured hack is the only ever character hack ever created.  They're totally ignorant to the big bad world of Brawl modding.  Oh well, let people live in their ignorant delusions.  The vast majority of people on these sites won't even use or download this hack or any hacks for that matter.

I was hoping someone else would be nice enough to help you out here...

Alright, so you have Homebrew? You took care of the hardest part...

Go here.
http://www.smashboards.com/showpost.php?p=7304207&postcount=2

And read through it, it should tell you the basic set up for getting Brawl hacked.
...

Also, I might as well give you some other handy codes, the important one is in that thread, so again, read it.

Here's some of my favorites...

These all have no effect on the game play, just things like the pause camera, if you play Wifi, it saves name tags in replays, and actually lets you have full match replays. XD

I hope this helps you out. :)

Oh and, after you have the SD card set up, just put all of Waluigi's character files in Pit's folder, as for the rest of the stuff, like CSPs, and what not...

Purely optional, if you don't feel like bothering with it, I wouldn't blame you, it's a pain to set those up. (Though worth it for making Waluigi feel more like a real character... But again, I for quite awhile didn't bother with them.) XD

Yes, but it's difficult. If I had Windows XP, then I would try it myself. But unfortunately I'm stuck with Windows Vista. :/
Why Windows XP?
Because right now, there is a program that you can open a .brsar in and listen to the voices and effects. It's only on Windows XP though. On Vista, you get an error when trying to listen to sounds. I'm not sure about Windows 7 though.

Do you know where to get the program/what it's named? I have Windows 7, so I'll look it up. If it doesn't work on 7, I'll just have to get a new harddrive for my old scuttled laptop and install Linux or XP on it.

SmashBox 0.57 is what you need. As far as I know, you can run it on newer systems, you just can't have 64-bit ones. Even if that doesn't work, you can use BrawlBox to listen to sounds, it's just a bit harder.

Title: Re: WALUIGI TIME!
Post by: Dr. Weird on October 13, 2011, 02:42:38 PM
That's unfortunate. I'm running 64-bit, and it doesn't look like there's an easy fix. I'll see what I can do on my own with BrawlBox.

Does anyone know any good sources for Waluigi voice clips? So far I only have Youtube rips of his Mario Party 7 and Mario Kart DS lines (8 was too echoy to be worth it).

I'm honestly not sure about how .sawnd files work, but I'll see what I can do with what I have so far. Thanks for the support, and if anybody finds a way to get his lines from the soccer games, that's some premium stuff. As is the apparently hard-to-access assist trophy sounds. TO THE TUTORIALS!

I have a problem, none of the other colors seem to work for me but Original Color (purple) i tried the others it freezes after i select a stage.

Because the .pac file might be compressed with IZ77 and has the .pac texture file has to be set to none in  brawlbox.

I don't want to replace dedede either. Also, There is a Pony Hack in the works, (Pinkie Pie) and If it's finished, It will go over yoshi, so i don't wanna replace niether. I just got an idea. Somebody should port Pit, Dedede, Or Yoshi Over Toon Link. and create a .sawnd file for pit, dedede, or yoshi's voices over toon link This way. i can use it. If any of the ports are possible.

Well, on the topic of the moveset, I think it's worth testing WAA! with longer ranges. It seems pretty useless right now.

Waa? Useless? I highly disagree, it's like a better Warlock Punch, it has little end lag, and... Put that together with Waluigi's air movement, it's far from useless.

Title: Re: WALUIGI TIME!
Post by: Dr. Weird on October 19, 2011, 12:27:34 AM
Warlock Punch appears to have three times the reach, though. WAA seems more like a slow-engaging, slightly longer-range Fire Jump Punch.
I just think it's worth testing with a tad more range.

Title: Re: WALUIGI TIME!
Post by: _Data_Drain_ on October 19, 2011, 12:36:02 AM
Have you tried using it as a dodgy air approach?

It's harder to punish then you would think. Again, it takes less time for the hit box to come out, Waluigi falls slower then Ganon, or Falcon, so he has more air time with it, and he can move left and right while using it...

Alright, the ground one is a bit on the near useless side, but as an air move, it's pretty deadly.

I don't like how he's quiet minus the side and bottom-of-screen deaths.

Yeah. I've gathered his lines from Mario Party 7 and 8, as well as Mario Kart DS (good for the wiimote's speaker), but they're only MP3s with all of them. I have yet to split them up and convert them (and edit the echo out of 8).
What I really want is his files from Strikers Charged. "WA-LU-I-GI!" It's hard to get a good supply of attack sounds, but what I have sets us for win screens and taunts.
After that, wouldn't the PSA itself need altering to get the sounds inclded, so we'd have to send it to one of the project heads?

Well, in the previous version I was the head, mainly working on the moveset. So i should be able to insert them right in as long as I had the individual voice files. Could there be a way to extract the individual files directly from the .sawnd file...?

Title: Re: WALUIGI TIME!
Post by: Dr. Weird on October 23, 2011, 01:45:04 PM
If you can handle renaming and conversion, I can break them up for you and send them off. I can also try to cut the echo from 8's files, but it's probably best left to someone with experience.

Title: Re: WALUIGI TIME!
Post by: doublek642 on October 23, 2011, 01:47:48 PM
Renaming shouldn't be a problem. Time consuming, but easy. What would be an appropriate program for converting? And what file type do they need to be?

We can add materials and such now so we can give Walugi a Metal texture.
I got it working for Gray Fox.

But first, I need to find a way to improve the mapping so it doesn't look like crap, as seen above.

When I can confirm a better looking Metal texture and test the new Gray Fox using bones made from BJ's BB working in all modes, I'll rebuild Lyn and then Waluigi.

Yes times infinity   ... I'm probably misinterpreting what you said though. Did you mean should someone import a model of Waluigi over another character for a single costume? Or, Port models over the current build of Waluigi so he can have alternate costumes too?

If it's the first then I know that folks would probably be against it, seeing as how this project is going so well,
but it is a good idea nonetheless.

That way people who don't want to replace a character can enjoy Waluigi too  ;)

If it's the other, than that'd be awesome too  :)

This project is hands down great but I have one issue that needs to be addressed, There will be two waluigi's if waluigi picks up an assist trohphy he would see his own self as a assist trophy, he would feel bad for himself. But since he's not an assist trophy anymore we should get rid of waluigi assist trophy permenantly.

As MK put it, it's a testing version, meaning he's fully playable, and quite fun and balanced, but needs a bit of feedback, and a few touch ups, like the word bubble for the WAA move. But otherwise, he's finished enough to play.

We could add a good amount of GFX for Waluigi because none of Pit's GFX models have been used by Waluigi. That gives us a total of I think 6 GFX models we can use. Because we need at least two, one for when he's facing right and one when he's facing left.

Except I already have

By that I mean I've made the graphic itself, but haven't actually given it to Waluigi.  The graphic itself is piss easy to make.  Anyone could do it.  It takes less than 5 minutes.  Just make one here:  http://cooltext.com/

Heck even adding the 2D graphic into the FitPit.pac itself is very easy.  Anybody on this site with any sort of PSA experience could do it without any trouble.

Why haven't I finished it?  Because I too have been busy with real life matters of course.  That and I can't really be asked.  I haven't been to inspired to do hack related stuff lately.

It's likely you were fighting the Ice Climbers... For some reason, Nana is glitched when it comes to time stopping items. Or time stopping moves.

Or, you could be playing Brawl Plus... I'm not 100% sure how Brawl+ safe this move set is.

ok then i am done with Goku over Pit i will do WaLuigi over XXXX
so if you like WaLuigi over a Other (fixed DDD port, jiggypuff, maybe R.o.B,captain falcon) vote in my moveset thread
WaLuigi moveset is possible to be ported over anyone who can be PSAed,model swap port way
i am doing this cuz i love this hack but needing Goku over Pit for get him 100% complete and needing Pit´s high filesize limit+GFX model slots and one of pit´s articles
so hope this is ok i porting WaLuigi over who of these (the one who win the poll)

Yeah but... MarioKing wanted to replace Pit, because he's in his own series... Thus doesn't interfere with other characters...

Further more, why can't Goku stay on Falcon?

I can't believe you're asking that. o.o

I thought you knew the huge amount of limitations C. Falcon has.

MarioDK, you should go for Jigglypuff, if possible.

Goku is really close to limit and with over Pit SSJ mode is possible and afew other things that will make Goku complete (still balanced with SSJ mode) thats why :D
i was lucky CF got that much filesize limit to the Goku PSA we got now
right now is Goku moveset the biggest in Filesize for CF movesets and the known filesize limit
beside
if Goku over Pit
WaLuigi over DDD,jiggypuff
we getting captain falcon back or V. joe

Although you got to remember. Waluigi will make use of articles. And GFX... Meaning porting him in the future will be much harder... But if somehow the Ice Climbers could be replaced, I'd be REALLY happy...

not only that but it also stealing others work
like these "insert Ike/Marth PSA" + .rel over G&W or Olimar
thats why i dont give promission to port Goku unless it is Real porting like model swap way and not renaming
also if renaming files it will be harder to give SFX pack for that char.

I'm only gonna get a WAAA over Ice Climbers (if it's made) if there is sfx.
Also, i was thinking, Is it possible for this to be ported to Diddy Kong if ppl don't wanna replace pit or ddd? I dun wanna repalce pit or ddd since Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy will go over them when they are released.

Oh look a bump.
If someone hands me over the definitive Waluigi files, I'll repolish the hurtboxes and rebuild the model with Metal Textures after I update Gray Fox.

I think Waawaa could use a few hitbox parameter tweaks but that's just me.

That's due to either the ThrowN, XRotN, YRotN, or HipN bone indexes not matching up.
Check the bone indexes.

i got permission to port Waluigi over DDD or a other then Pit(diddy kong now cuz DDD can´t be PSAed since it freeze) about same time it was released
i asked you and MarioKing64DS about it and i got permission from both of you
but i gave the project to Soulcraft cuz i was busy with Goku over pit(reason why we was needing Waluigi over a other)/ other projects
so he will do it for me and the other Pit/Goku/other PSAs over Pit users and ppl who like this PSA

I see the hack is out. mma get it. :D

Expecting Diddy Kong? TOO BAD! WALUIGI TIME!

EDIT: Actually, i think all 3 Waluigis (Original over Pit, Port over DDD, ad the recent port over Diddy.) should have sfx. A good resource would be this: http://www.spriters-resource.com/community/showthread.php?tid=15525 (http://www.spriters-resource.com/community/showthread.php?tid=15525) It's a thread containing all MKW sounds. including Waluigi. Of course, we would need to export some of his brawl sounds for his down tilt, down air, and side smash. Also, we would need to edit their FitCharacter.pacs so that the sound packs could work. I suck at doing sfx in Project Smash Attacks so it would be nice if someone made FitCharacter.pacs with the voices not removed so the sound packs can work. Anyway, the Reason why i'm using the mkw sounds as a resource because they were used in a soundpack for the Toon Link Version, which seems to be no longer on the vault as i can't find it. However, i'd be glad to make a soundpack for the over diddy kong version!

Title: Re: WALUIGI TIME!
Post by: DoctorFlux(Mariodk) on January 25, 2012, 10:23:37 PM
DDD can´t have SFX pack cuz it is ported by renaming+.rel files (the bad way to porting PSAs)

Title: Re: WALUIGI TIME!
Post by: BriefCasey795 on January 26, 2012, 07:49:59 PM
Oh. i guess then ony the pit and diddy versions only can have soundpacks, but anyway, I am ready to make the soundpack for the over Diddy Kong Version. i got sounds already organized, but just before i get started, i'm gonna need to edit the FitDiddy.pac in order for the soundpack to fully work. Do i need to get permission from Marioking when editing the fitchar.pac? i mean, i'm just editing the sfx values. BTW, i have never edited a sfx values in smash attacks before, and i don't know how. could someone tell me or send me diddy's sfx psa values that represent their wave ids in the brsar? (NTSC-U) because i never done something like that before.

Title: Re: WALUIGI TIME!

Wait, southcraft is already doing it? oh well. Also, you should edit Waluigi's SFX values in the FitDiddy.pac in order to make the sfx pack really work. also i think he should have assist trophy sounds for these:
Down Tilt Attack
Down Air Attack
Side Smash attack
Up Taunt

anyway, i think using some of his MKW sounds sound good.

Waluigi Time isn't over, and I have finished, but not UL'd, an update to Waluigi to give him Metal textures, perfect his hurtboxes, and did major tweaks to his hitboxes.

Most of his tilt and jab hitboxes were shrunk to be sensible, Neutral B's hitboxes were moved up to make sense with the animations.

Also,
Nair's hitboxes are better placed and will link better
Bair has a touch more KB
Sweettspot Up B does Shield Damage

If you want it, say so and I'll Update the BV link.

Basically, Toomai's BB is amazing and every PSAer should use it.

I was able to put some sound to waluigi (only the ones when he's sent flying up and when he falls), I want to try modyfing waluigi a bit to be able to have voice when he wins as well as when he taunts, but with the permission of the creators , of course.

Used sawndz 0.12 and smash attacks

With sawndz 0.12 you can easily change a specific voice/sound effect. Some people ripped the voices and they have a specific number. pit's wave ID when he's sent flying is wave 17, so i change group id A then specify im gonna change one of his voice clips which is 1df. Then just put 17 in the wave ID and insert a wav. file.

And then to make the character stop being silent you open smash attacks, open the fitpit.pac
If you'd like to add voice with waluigi's win1 animation you look for it there and change events to sfx. Now you click add and where it asks you what it should do, you type 0A050100 and in parameter you type in 02C4, which is pit's win2 sound effect (waluigi just dances in win2, so I can replace pit's wave 26 with another waluigi wav.) you can use an asynchronous timer for it to start certain frames after the beggining of the animation or not if you eant it to start as soon the animation starts.

Long explanations but it is not that hard. Also, to know which sound effect you want to use with smash attacks you'll need this reference from the great dantarion http://pastebin.com/f635MwL4 (http://pastebin.com/f635MwL4) .

Snip.

Ok, good. I am not there yet; I still need to figure out how to make relatively complex graphic effects and animations (I am working on porting Sir Crocodile as a full-fledged character right now, and want him to transform into sand for some attacks), but knowing how to add voices will definitely bring the character alive. Thanks a lot!

This ranks in the too-good-to-be-true category of wish-fulfillment. I thank you on behalf of all Waluigi fans everywhere for your magnanimous contribution to humanity. I feel like you've done something wonderful for me, personally. I've been playing Brawl a TON for years, and all this time wishing Waluigi was playable. I couldn't believe how real Waluigi is become as a playable character, thanks to all who developed this mod.

Okay, now that I've properly expressed my jubilation and gratitude, I have a few questions and comments.

First of all, I've noticed that when Waluigi gets hit by Lip's Stick...bad things happen. Specifically, the flower gets stuck in the air at the point of contact and the game lags for the rest of the battle. Those kinds of bad things. It's not too much of an imposition to simply turn off Lip's Stick, but this is a major glitch that effects gameplay that I thought was worth mentioning.

Questions: Were the fixes to the FitPit.pac that Snoopy posted earlier[/postid] (which is, btw, a dead link) implemented in the latest edit to the Waluigi PSA? He implies that he fixed the problem of Waluigi holding heavy items weirdly (which is not the case in the current download; he stands inside of them and they remain on the ground).

Eternal Yoshi, are those fixes you mentioned in your last post available only for the Diddy Kong cover? Would it be easy enough to put those on the regular Pit version?

Also is anyone still working on sfx for dear old Waluigi, or am I bringing up a long-dead cause?

Hello ? I would like to ask something, I downloaded the WAA, and it works well, but, Waluigi's icon and name do not appear on the character selection screen or anywhere else. Can someone help me ?

You can use my files:

To get Waluigi portraits, selection icon, and name for character select screen, put this file in private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/system: http://www.sendspace.com/file/4fdk54 (http://www.sendspace.com/file/4fdk54)

To get in-battle portraits, put these in private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/info/portrite: http://www.sendspace.com/filegroup/d4PpQVcnFTlZA9y%2FMOvK%2FHpebMwpfo%2BrKWGE3iVdSwXC7GHjxwGWnA (http://www.sendspace.com/filegroup/d4PpQVcnFTlZA9y%2FMOvK%2FHpebMwpfo%2BrKWGE3iVdSwXC7GHjxwGWnA)

To get his name under the aforementioned in-battle portraits, put this in private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/info2: http://www.sendspace.com/file/1l172a (http://www.sendspace.com/file/1l172a)
Just to let you know, to get the file size small enough I had to delete the graphics for the names of Sandbag, Master Hand, and Crazy Hand from that particular file. I doubt that will ever be an issue for you in any way, but I'm just mentioning that I removed these from the original file.

To get portraits on the result screen, put this in private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/menu/common/char_bust_tex: http://www.sendspace.com/file/nsce2g (http://www.sendspace.com/file/nsce2g)

These files will also provide the little Waluigi head icons for the map selection screen and the results screen. Also a mushroom emblem for the character select screen and the in-battle display. Unfortunately, I have yet to determine how to replace Pit's emblem on the results screen, or his name and emblem on the in-battle screen for modes other than multi-player.
